    I don't think we've seen footage of your Belgian house before. What a beautiful place - and you made it so! Good training for this project. And now so much more space, all the land, its amazing, the contrast. Wonderful for you all, and especially Odin to grow up here. Take care 🙂🙏🙏

      It is totally different, we did love our house in Belgium. Only the place around it was soo small and crowded.

    Your videos make me miss that area so much! Around 20 years ago I had a very similar property to yours, an old stone farmhouse with several barns and a pigeonier on about 30 acres in a tiny hamlet between Perigueux and Bergerac. The house was already habitable though, and parts of the land had been kept up, while other bits had been left to go wild. Sadly, my husband eventually decided he wanted to move back to the US, and I cried my eyes out when we sold that house. It was my favorite place I've ever ever lived, and I'd love to go back some time.

    You chose a beautiful region of France to live in. Rolling countryside with many small streams and numerous interesting villages. I stayed in a small hotel just south of Perigeaux (east of Bordeaux). I hope you have the time to explore the area. In 2015 I spent 70 days on my motorcycle riding through western Europe. I spent extra time in Belgium (Iepers) and Netherlands (Apeldoorn ) and of course the Vimy Ridge monument. 🍁

      Hey Stephen, we went to Perigeux today, very beautiful city! The Dordogne is indeed known for its beautiful picturesque villages and nature. I have been to Ieper and many grave memorials but not Vimy Ridge monument.

    Hallo, good job 👍🏼 I signed a compromise de vente in the end of July this year but I have to wait until may next year with my start to renovate the house in the Normandie. Please can you tell me on which internet site you found all the second hand stuff and was it difficult to get the buildings permit from the mayor? Thank you for the video 🤗

    • @DomaineSauvage
      @DomaineSauvage  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Permits are not hard to get and you can get most of the info on the French government website. A lot of it is even in English! As for 2ndhand we look on leboncoin which is the biggest website for France. Do go the Marie and explain your plans and they will most of the time be able to direct you in the right direction.

    • @fipbele
      @fipbele 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DomaineSauvage Thank you very much 🙂 I know leboncoin, I found the property with this website and i hope I'll find some other second hand tools I'll need. I knew this webside from another video I looked and they spoke about how they found their house. With the permits I hope it will work how you explained. At the moment it's not able to live in one of the houses on the property but I have power and water on the ground and also a caravan and my plan is like yours, to live in the caravan for the time of renovation. Now I have time to minimize my stuff in winter time and then go with my brother in may next year to france with my dog and my cats. My dog listen to the name Lucy and your cat Lucy is really so releaxed, super! Wish you a good winter time in the dordogne! P.S. This year in spring time, we had also bad weather, very wet! I live in Germany nearby Stuttgart. See you 🙂

      We lived in the caravan for about 6 months i think, because our house was sold and we didn't have this yet. Our caravan is for sale by the way 😅I really hope the rain stays away longer then last year, we already had some heavy rain halting our outside works.. but they predict dry again.. fingers crossed! Good luck with your project!
