    As the channel name would suggest, there are both good and bad problems when it comes to cars. In the case of my Lamborghini Huracan Performante, I've had a few problems with it that should all be covered under warranty. So, as promised, I brought the car to the dealer for them to solve all of these issues. The car is now "fixed" and back in my garage, but I'm not entirely happy with what happened along the way. In this video I explain what was wrong, how it was fixed and how I feel I was mistreated by Lamborghini! What do you think about how they dealt with this situation?

    Sorry to hear about this man. Honestly though, lots of people are doing crazy things, the break and expect coverage. I'm not arguing that some mods shouldn't void your warranty, and maybe I should have touched on that more in the video. Any huge increase in power from tuning, turbos, superchargers, etc, I get that being an issue. Even bigger aftermarket wheels, given that the car is all-wheel drive, I could see that being an issue if something went wrong. But it's pretty unheard of for a catback exhaust system to "damage" a car, especially one that the dealer themselves would happily install.

    • @itsdillon04
      @itsdillon04 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kent Harmon Isn't showing a problem currently is a valid point, but it's not a fake claim since they did find the error when checking the codes. Also, refusing work with the reason given as being the third party exhaust, esp. when the error happened before the exhaust was put in, is a scummy move.

    • @home541_
      @home541_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@texchu8331 Coming from a techs perspective, when trying to repair anything, if you can't replicate it you can't properly diagnose. I've had multiple cars come in for diagnostics that took 2 weeks to finally replicate and others we simply cannot replicate. Misfires can be caused by faulty o2 sensors, injector, plug and engine issues. How they went about the warranty was kind of ridiculous.

    Most new car dealers look for any reason to not honor their warranty. This was true when the hellcats came out and Dodge tried to void warranties because the owners installed cold air intakes. There is a law in the US that basically states that if the modification done to the car cannot be proved to be the cause of the failure, then they have to honor the warranty. Check into what Canadian law says.

    Love the honesty. I guess ultimately you have to decide whether the experience of owning a lambo is worth the treatment from the company. My neighbours have almost always owned BMWs and I once asked them why. They've always had amazing service at BMW. They once broke the cycle and got a Mercedes (which they loved, great car) but the treatment from Mercedes that they got (for various detailed reasons too complicated to explain on here) they decided that owning a Merc wasn't worth it for them. I guess you just gotta decide whether owning a Lambo is worth it. Hope this helps, keep up the content.

    I think I said this on the earlier video - but see if you can borrow a good obd2 reader from someone near you - keep it in the Lambo - as & when it happens again, plug the reader in with the car still running (if the reader's manual says it's OK to do) - read any codes - make a video recording of the reader's screen showing any/no faults - try to rev the car a few times then cycle the key.
    Whatever the result, show the video to the master tech(s) at the service centre & see what their response is!

  • @victorgasnier5654

    Hey Josh, loved the video as always. I just wanted to say that I understand your point of view, but knowing these italian brands they are and always will be focused on the respect you have for the product. An example to what I want to say is when F1 drivers criticize Ferrari, most notably Prost in 1990 (when he said that his car was like a truck), it pisses them off.
    Also as I follow SR4U, I'd point out that, like a warranty on football boots, these warranties are made for the brand new vehicle, no modification is allowed. Even minor ones, I think.
    So yeah... Quite sad to see that they do not look at your issue seriously because of this.
    Wishing you the best, have a very great day !

    My personal experience with Lamborghini has been real good so far, but I've heard they're not keen on fixing things under warranty. As an information that I've learned only very recently: a number of Performante motors have blown up, specifically a hole in a piston seems to form. It can happen after as few as 1500 km. They do replace the entire motor under warranty but don't speak about it, so officially the problem does not exist. I do not have any more information at this point, other than that the issue is not known with the 610. In the specific case I learned about last week the check engine light had come on. Guy had parked the vehicle immediately after calling a dealership, but too late already. Let's hope your car isn't "doomed" in the same way.

However at the end of the day it is still within their rights to decline your request to have your warranty honored due to the AM exhaust. They do sound awesome though.

    I can only say that in Germany ( where i am from) warranty is handled that if you change or open the product or change something there is no future warranty. You need to leave it stock otherwise you dont have one. For example a laptop, you want to put more storage into it and open it no warranty anymore because the firm that sold you the product wants you to buy from them. That's how it is. Normally any kind of technical modification voids your warranty in the area where the change was done. - That`s mainly the standard here for every manufacturer in Europe. - Years ago my friend bought a new Cayenne and went to a Specialist to have some cameras added to the parking system and also for surveillance. As they attached it to the main electronics of the Cayenne (also the Data Bus to activate the cameras while using the cars own sensors) it voided the whole warranty. The Argument here was that the Data Bus Transfers also all Data which is needed to run the car safely and when you interfere in the system you can cause trouble to the whole system. - When you crash even the insurance can make that claim and wants money back from you. The department which gives the car an approval (Here called ABE Number) tests the whole vehicle before "as it is". Every change after that without approval from the Department or Test-Facilities - where you can go to when you did a change to the car - is voiding your insurance and warranty.

    Lots of dealerships can’t diagnose the misfire properly, without active code or better to say the active misfire, because it can be a bunch of things like a coil pack, to lean of the mixture caused by computer stock tune, and a bunch of other things. Actually when you got the exhaust if they refreshed the ecu or unplugged battery, which I assume they did it might of reset the ecu and all the sensors including maf, and car relearned itself like all the cars do when you reset the ecu, so it might of mixed it. That said- exhaust couldn’t do anything related to that misfire itself, complete bs on Lamborghini part, just if it would be any other car

    The whole VW Group is anti mods. They did exactly the same when they bought Porsche. Any mods = no warranty. The dealers all got re-trained to spot mods even things like upgraded radios. My advice if I was spending $250k+ on a car is to just keep it stock or if you want a louder exhaust go with the factory upgraded exhaust then your warranty remains. I have no idea if Lambo offer this, but Porsche certainly do on every car (Porsche Sports Exhaust).

    Look man, even though they are owned by Audi, they are still a low volume manufacturer and they don't implement German precision on their shop floor. Just be glad your Lambo starts and the clutch is not burnt out.

    The only time a dealership is nice to you is when you are buying it...once you drive it off the lot and come back they act like that they don't even know you.

    That is weird to me. My 2020 has a VF engineering supercharger and they are fine with it. It is at the dealership to get the infotainment updated and had to get a leak fixed with the AC line. There is a law about that and they have to prove the modification is what caused the problem.

    Just imagine what all this nonsense would cost if the car WASNT under warranty... I always tell people, if you cant afford to buy it new, you cant afford to own it used

    The misfire during driving slowly can be caused by a fouled spark plug due to oil burn from the crankcase ventilation.

    Dealerships these days are not in the business of losing money. They get you into the car, after that they do not want to know your name.

    There's a guy (can't remeber the channel) that had a friend who bought a brand new McLaren 720S, and he had so many problems with it. Seems like it's a usual thing for expensive cars to have issues.

    At least one nice thing about US law: they have to prove the exhaust caused the issue.

    You are a hundred percent right!! You paid big bux for a top of the line car!! There should have been no issues w the car in my opinion!! And if there is and they are that minor lambo should step up w all that $$ they take from ppl for their vehicles and do the right thing and take care of their customers!!

    They can and should void the warranty if you modify it. If you care about the warranty you'll have to play by their rules until the warranty expires.

  • @jjjones4469

    The problem is so
    Many people cause problems to the cars with mods ecu remaps etc and the car is designed with there exhaust for a reason they say and it’s not just lambo now I have had it With Range Rover and Ferrari there are all going after mods now !!
    And a pal of mine had a m2 on finance with bmw financial and they not only cancelled the warranty on a new car but also cancelled the financial agreement and made him buy the car within 10 days due to bodykit exhaust and different wheels !!!

    You would think a huge brand like Lamborghini would care about customer service more than your average car make. Them looking for an excuse to not fix your car is scummy enough, and threatening to void your warranty is even worse. What a joke

  • @rkorczak11
    @rkorczak11 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Audi does the same thing and flags your car TD1. I can see if you’re tuning the engine, but why bolt on should not void your warranty.
