Ive found this to be true since buying my R8. I couldnt go anywhere in my lambo previously without a crowd gathering around. That shit gets old real quick.
The price delta in Canada between the two used or new is huge. If you look on autotrader at 2018 v10 R8's vs. Huracan's, the price difference is over 100k. If you compare two 2020 models (there was no 2019 R8), the price delta between them new is over 150k. That's a lot of money for a badge. When you factor in ownership costs, plus the Audi stock warranty is 4 years new vs. 3 years for the Lamborghini, if price is even remotely a factor then its an easy choice. I'd rather be respected by people that know their cars for making a wise choice than by a bunch of kids that have no clue as to the similarities or dissimilarities between them. Great video and review, nice to hear an owners perspective.

Very thorough comparison, and your perspective and opinion on what it's like to actually own and pay for a supercar is quite unique. It feels like the experience would be incredibly fun, but also sometimes a pain in the ass.
Audi R8 is better as a daily driver, a little more comfortable and user friendly than the Huracan, and if driven around the streets by normal people, there’s not much difference. However In the right hands on a race track, the Huracan will leave the R8 In the dust. Huracan is almost 1 minute faster around the nurbergring than the R8 and it’s aerodynamic design produces substantially more downforce than the R8.

After owning three different gen 2 R8 and then now owning a Huracán Tecnica yes the difference is huge. If someone tells u R8 is a budget Huracan then nothing could b e further from the truth. If u can afford an R8 there is nothing wrong with it. its an amazing car but stop trying to justify the decision by saying its a better Money decision. I have an RWS R8. i have driven, but not owned, a Huracan multiple times. you review is spot on. i just test drove a 991.2 GT3RS. they offered me nice money for my RWS and the GT3RS is a great deal but for an additional $80K I didn't feel i was losing much keeping the RWS. plus I can buy a nice C2 Corvette to put in the garage next to my RWS. Mine is white as well. Oh and if performance is a concern add a tune and the RWS is as fast as most supercars available. I recently ran 10.75 at 130mph 1/4 mile. plenty fast!
If i would buy any of these two, my choice would be a Audi R8 for its comfort and short nose. And my reason for that is Norwegian roads and our ridiculous amount of speed bumps.
I can't afford either one, but I got sit in R8 at car show and I actually fit in it reasonably well, I couldn't even get in a Lamborghini Huracan. (6'4" 280 lbs.)that being said I would love to be able to afford a Lamborghini, but I would go for the Audi R8 V10.

hey man awesome vids, wanted to ask what you think of the 991.2 (2017+) turbo s cars, seem to fit a lot of criteria you like and supposedly one of the best driving cars in the world, ever driven or looked into one?
I haven't personally driven one, but I've only ever heard good things. I love the 911, but have always been more into the GT3 variants because that's what I like. With that said, if you want AWD and a car that is just insanely fast off the line while also being more usable as a road car than a GT3, it's an excellent choice. I haven't seriously considered one up until this point, but that's not to say that I wouldn't.
I traded the GT3 for 2020 R8 because the Porsche was too loud and rough to drive every day. (It had some mods) The performance is about the same , but I haven't gotten the R8 on a racetrack yet. Very little price difference, I was considering buying a Porsche Turbo when I found the Audi.
I guess if you just really loved the platform, that makes sense, but I can't say that I would really want to own one of each at the same time. @@carproblems8547 thanks for the fast reply. I'm really tempted to get R8 as my first serious sports car mostly because of being basically half the price, but giving up a bit of drama that Huracan brings to the table. Hard dillemas here. Hey man love your content and your insight for such a young person. Would you purchase a 2014 McLaren MP4-12c? Heard good and bad things but the performance for the price is hard to ignore
I wanted to buy the R8 v10 coupe, but they sold it before I could secure financing. I bought the spyder R8 instead. Major problem, the spyder is cramped because the convertible mechanical has to fold down behind you. I'm only 5'-10" and I had a hard time getting in & out of the car. I sold it after 8 months, now I'm buying a Ferrari F430. P.S. The R8 coupe was local, so I was able to sit in it. The R8 convertible was out of state.
100% accurate. I've never sat in an R8 spyder, but I simply do not fit comfortably in the Huracan spyder. The seats get pushed forward quite a bit because of the roof.
I just hate that they sound pretty much the same, it's a God damn Lambo they should have made it v12 like the Aventador that sounds just too good.(I cannot afford any of those atm this is just my opinion)
Hey man! I’m from Toronto and I just found your channel a while back! And I heard you’re from Ontario too! I actually am about to buy my first fun winter car a 2017 C43 AMG at 20 years old and my overall goal is to either buy a 2016 BMW i8, or a 2008 Audi R8 V8 as they’re both under 80k next year! Any tips on shopping for supercars in Canada?
Tharsini Arampamoorthy I can tell you right now, it depends on the budget you have to maintain a vehicle, how much km’s you’re willing to put in it, do you care about depreciation and resale value. And what kind of driving you’ll do with it, I’m blessed to be surrounded by beautiful examples of cars from either my fathers collection, or the cars that I go through in my driving.
“If you’re a little bit of a noob in these cars” -I know that wasn’t a diss and there’s no hard feelings but for some reason that almost made me feel upset😂😂😂
Have to say - driven an R8 V10 plus and a Huracan 580-4, and the R8 had better interior, handled better, sounded better and felt like more of an experience. Performante seems awesome but haven't been lucky enough to drive one yet
Great video! Love your take on it all. But please change those cheapo looking wheels on the Alpha. They don't suit a sporty car. Haha just my opinion. Keep up the awesome work mate.
hey brother nice video. i own a Lamborghini Huracan and the point you have said about the lift system that you need to stop completely is false statement. You can lift it up while driving at low speed and if you accelerate it will automatically goes to its place:)

@@carproblems8547 thanks for the fast reply. I'm really tempted to get R8 as my first serious sports car mostly because of being basically half the price, but giving up a bit of drama that Huracan brings to the table. Hard dillemas here.
Also, if I may ask, is it better to finance or lease? Thanks in advance!
I never comment on any videos, but your video is really good. Subscribed 💪
Glad ur actually realistic about the whole experience
Video Idea: Trying to daily drive the 4C
"Using an AMG GTR as a tripod" (Had to like the video for that subtle flex)
Hey man love your content and your insight for such a young person. Would you purchase a 2014 McLaren MP4-12c? Heard good and bad things but the performance for the price is hard to ignore
For the right price, I'd consider one. Here are my overall thoughts on Mclaren th-cam.com/video/rDANstSbHVQ/w-d-xo.html
I'd still take a Huracan all day. I know that looks are subjective, but the lambo is so much better looking.. I.M.O
N.e.v.e.r.
Agreed
Love this guys content keep it up man
Which one do you think looks better
The R8 is good looking car, but the Huracan is infinitely prettier. At least that's my opinion.
Of course the huracan.
Huracan
No specific advice, although I personally wouldn't go anywhere near a used, out of warranty i8.
@@carproblems8547 whats the best car in your opinion under 50k and yes I'm from toronto
Car Problems thank you! I was hoping I’d get advice on i8’s now that they’re out of Lease!
@@ricogaras9613 tell me any cars you would get under 50k
At that point in my life where the wife actually says buy yourself a toy. Thanks for this video.
“If you’re a little bit of a noob in these cars” -I know that wasn’t a diss and there’s no hard feelings but for some reason that almost made me feel upset😂😂😂
This is actually a very good video, very informative
Thank you very much ! Totally agree with you! Now I’m gonna buy r8
Just buy an r8 for the v10 experience & an avantador for a panty dropping experience. Problem solved 🤷♂️
🤣hilarious man🙌
Well said video!
Have to say - driven an R8 V10 plus and a Huracan 580-4, and the R8 had better interior, handled better, sounded better and felt like more of an experience. Performante seems awesome but haven't been lucky enough to drive one yet
EDIT:
R8 was straight piped, and didn't drive the lambo in corsa
Bang on comparison!
Great video! Love your take on it all. But please change those cheapo looking wheels on the Alpha. They don't suit a sporty car. Haha just my opinion. Keep up the awesome work mate.
Great video and very well explained thank you greetings from 🇬🇧. I think I’d take the R8 as a senior average driver!
beautiful cars sir josh. great video as per. that 4c is my realstic dream car. so gorgeous
U should look at buying the db11
Great vid, true comparison.
hey brother nice video. i own a Lamborghini Huracan and the point you have said about the lift system that you need to stop completely is false statement. You can lift it up while driving at low speed and if you accelerate it will automatically goes to its place:)
