Great idea to put the bedroom on the top floor and then the kitchen on the second floor. That way people walk through the Kitchen and Living Room and the bedroom is private upstairs. Also that downstairs horse barn will probably stay noticeably cooler in the summer so that might be another place for a bedroom.

Hi Danny, I love your videos and your wonderful and ambitious project with the food kitchen for all the local people! My wife and I are from the US and are seriously considering purchasing a property in Sicily. We are both of Italian descent and my parents arrived in America in 1961 and are originally from Cassibile and Floridia! I am working on obtaining my Dual Citizenship as I do not have to go too far back at all to get to my last Italian descendant... my father never became an American citizen. Can you give any top tips as to the best ways to proceed? Thanks again and keep up all of the inspiring work!!

Hi, Danny! After watching your video we decided to buy and renovate one euro house in Mussomeli and become your neighbour. We saw on the SBS that you are Australian. Same as we are. Danny, please advise, how we can get residency in Mussomeli? How actually we can stay there? Thank you!
Hello, looks like we will get very interesting content here :) Maybe somewhere in internet is groups of people where they share more story about getting in to 1 Eur house ?
I looked into buying a house for 1 euro in sicily that they required you to get the residence in order to be able to stay there as they want repopulate the towns. Yet you say it can be a holiday place. can you please post some accurate information on how to go about it? thank you
Your plans are just what these small towns and villages need and why they started this programm in the first place. From a practical point of view I‘d ask you to reconsider the layout of the rooms. With this steep narrow staircase it is not very practical to have the community kitchen upstairs. If you could manage to have a window on the ground floor of the stable, the kitchen would be more accessible there as well as visible from the outside. Your private rooms can then be upstairs, you can always add a real bathroom in the corner of the bedroom.
Great apartment you were able to find. Would you have to spend more money to have your house structure stabilised since nobody has lived there for 15 years and so many other homes. Dont get me wrong I love these and would move there anyday, but its the hidden costs for me. If I can just pay 1 Euro an dont have to worry about structural inspection costs, it would be an absolute winner for me. I would love to start small business co operatives in the town to help the people get onto their feet again.
Love your intentions. I am a nurse and am wanting to relocate to Italy as well from the US. Could you please give me some insight as to how to go about finding the 1 euro homes? I would love to start a project like this.
Hi Danny. Great informative video. I am looking for a home to buy as a second home and eventually my retirement home. Are there really 1 euro homes though? I have been hearing so much that it is really a 100k investment. How near to 1 euro are these homes if I may ask? Thank you.
The house is actually sold for 1 euro with a 400 euro tax though. Also sometimes the house is auctioned for up to a few thousand. The renovations do probably cost around 100k though but still that's cheap beacuase once it is finished you'll have a pretty large home
