Super cool and nice guy. I had the privilege of working as a stand in/background on the set of one of his films, and he and his whole cast and crew were all incredibly nice and great to work with. I look forward to seeing more of his films.
I cannot wait for his next film, it's releasing in August so near my birthday so that'll be my birthday gift to myself. Ari Aster is a master in his craft and although he's a beginner with features he's definitely going to leave a mark on the horror genre
hey listen you're a really good interviewer! you're an excellent listener and i think that's really important in these situations.. especially when you're speaking to someone as particularly articulate as Ari. I think you did a really nice job!! :) very personable and you asked great questions.
Movies are subjective most of the time, and in Hereditary's case; it is subjective. So if you like a generic horror movie just as much as you like an independent horror movie like Hereditary then that's totally fine. I also have the same relationship with Godzilla KOTM and Melancholia (who are placed on my no 1 place of favourite films) despite hem being the exact opposite as to what they are; KOTM is heavily generic and relies on action and beautiful visuals, while Melancholia relies on the slow burn and the artistic use of metaphors and allegorical symbolism.
Its hard for me to compare the two. I love both movies for wildly different reasons. Its like comparing Picasso (paranormal activity) to Carravagio (Hereditary) :)
but it also gives them a breakthrough from their isolation. Here's something they can relate to. They know this well. And here, someone else clearly understands that, too.

I watched it. Phenomenal film.
In a great year for horror films (2018) , in terms of quality in the genre Hereditary stands out among the rest.

You either like Hereditary... or like paranormal activity
I like both.
@@ScottSullivanTV Excellent analogy.

Qué buena entrevista, muchas gracias!
Ari Aster is just such a badass.
What a fantastic interview!! Finally an interviewer who asks great questions haha
This movie is the only movie to disturb me on this level. It was MESSED UP.
nothing disturbed me more than Antichrist by Lars Von T.
yeahhhh don't watch this one when you're high
Flims like this leaves a person who is not mentally stable even more unstable FEAR is a negative energy.
