@@jdmyrick-smith7931No one forces you to put a Legendary in a box. This isn’t a new thing. You could box Legendaries since Gen 1. It’s like the starters. Usually the games paint you as having an especially close bond with your starter (I’d say Gen 7 does this best). Still, you can box them. It’s called gameplay, and sometimes it doesn’t necessarily mesh with the exact story how we may want to. I’d honestly consider it much worse to force Ogerpon in the party because that eliminates a slot for other Pokemon, nor do I think having her remain as an NPC would be right. If that happens, nothing has changed. Ogerpon would still be out in the wild, without any trainer to be by. She placed her trust in the Player, and it’d be arguably more cruel to deny her of her wish altogether after everything she’s been through than to accept her and put her in a box.
@@captainblue5096I'd say putting her in a box after she chose to trust and travel with you is just as bad if not worse than denying her desire for her own good. Kieran did the most work out of anyone in the dlc, he (the shy introvert) actually went around the village, worked up the courage to talk to people, and got them to believe the truth (convincing people they are wrong is harder than battling a roided up monkey, dog, and bird).
@@jdmyrick-smith7931 Whenever Pokémon are placed in the Box, I always imagine they are transferred to an open wide area appropriate to their type, just like the Terarium. This is a place where they can run free, eat, play and stay away from all kinds of bad things. When taken out, the Pokemon is teleported into the Pokeball it's been caught in which has our code on it and the traded Pokemon takes its place and rests in that location. Otherwise, it makes me feel bad when a Pokemon choose you only to be send to the the Box. Heck even Legends Arceus shows that all your Pokemon are roaming in a fence area, but of course that is during the time Electronics didn't exist. In the future, I hope they will add a play area where we can interact with our Pokemon, feed them, train them, etc. Otherwise all the Pokemon you caught are just better off being released.

@hero-bo7qc That's the whole point I'm getting at. At no point do we truly have any option or opportunity to tell Keiran the truth or make things easier on him. The only options we have are "lie to Keiran" or "lie to Keiran." He thinks that we are lying to him and bullying him and being cruel to him because that's the crap he's dealt with from his sister and others all his life. I know that the Pokémon games aren't real rpgs or anything. But them giving us the illusion of having a choice is really annoying. I'd rather they instead put more effort into doing voice-over for their story. At least for their "special cinematic scenes," they include every so often. Sorry for that minor rant. And I do pay attention to the story. It's just that most of it is so poorly written. And a lot of parts of these games are so annoying. I hate it because I've actually really gotten into these games the past few years, and I'd just really like them to be better.😭
@@daigozidashi4376 fair enough, but considering how the grandparents literally said not to tell anybody, it's still a little weird for him to get offended and jump to the worst conclusion when you don't tell him instantly

Pokémon has never really had many well-written characters.

For me it was totally unintentional, but i traded every character a breedject Zorua cuz i had a ton of boxes, but then realized Kieran is like the Hisuian Zorua of them all, so i've been saving one for him. I like to imagine Kieran having a Hisuian Zorua that treats him the way he wished Ogerpon would.
God I really wish I could. I really didn't care for Ogerpon and I wish the game gave us the option to give it to him in the first DLC in exchange for the Pokedex entry, with him offering it here to people who regretted or wanted it back later on. You know, when he could have actually had some character growth.
Would it be possible to give Kieran a hacked/glitched Ogrepon or Terapagos? I've a feeling the game is only checking location data, as it would be kinda difficult to program in checks for not only species, but Cherish Ball, Original Owner, and illegal combinations as well. If that's true, I wonder if the game would treat any Pokemon from Dreaded Den or such as "rare Pokemon".
I genuinely want to give it to him he wants it more than I ever could and the whole conflict of the real mask was over a misunderstanding I just feel bad
I wish Kieran would react and say like "You're offering me Ogerpon? ...That's a thoughtful gesture, but, after seeing how happy she is with you, I can't possibly take her away from that."
@omegadrive9999 Actually, you can go get Ogrepon as soon as you are set free to start the treasure hunt. Add in that with pokemon home, you can transfer your starter to your main account, max out its level, EVs, moveset, and transfer it back to the OT (again pokemon home) the starter will listen 100% of the time (no napping, confusion, or disobedience) and you can just blow through the kitikami story due to all the pokemon being under level 20 (Ogrepon when caught will be Lv 20) Throw in a turbo controller should take you like 3.5 hours (damn hour long opening) as long as you don't goof around

The look of hope on his face 😭😭 and him playing with his hair at the end omg I can't... The hair looks a lot better with his softer facial expressions tbh

I also have a Growlithe, a Pikachu, and a Tinkaton on standby for...... certain NPCs...
The rest all get a Clefairy, except for Kieran who gets a Titan Bombirdier (the poor kid keeps getting the short end of the stick, he should at least get SOMETHING...)
Aw come on! Let the dude be happy! Or at least have some dialogue in his reacting to it to show he doesn't need Ogrepon as a show of character development.
There’s some dialogue where he asks about how Ogerpon is going and says that he thinks she really is better off with MC.
Kieran should be saying "You really want them to be with me? They'll be happier with you..." instead of the other message.
I understand the reason they don't allow it but I don't agree with the decision. The way they could have done it better is ask "Are you sure you want to trade away a legendary? You can never catch this type of Pokemon again." "Yes" "No" They could even ask twice just in case. But ultimately if the Player want to do it, that's the players decision.

Good for you?
''you can't trade such a rare pokemon'' I DONT CARE, LET MY BOY HAVE WHAT HE DESERVES

The developers literally put a roadblock in front you to keep Kieran miserable
Yeah, how dare he not get ogerpon when he was so possesive over her when ogerpon didnt even want to be with him, like did you actually play the DLC or did you only play for the visuals?
Gamefreak really did Kieran dirty😅
I hate when games railroad you so hard like this. It doesn't even give us the option to let Kieran have the pokemon he wants at all, not even after all the rest of the story is done..
If you paid attentjon to said story, you would remember that
Kieran was super possesive to the point that even after ogerpon made up her mind, he still wanted to battle you for her friendship
Kieran stole the teal mask and compared himself to ogerpon being ridiculed when the onlything we did wrong to him was keep a secret
Acted super bratty and locked himself in his room when ogerpon didnt want to be with someone so obsessed
But yeah, how dare he not get ogerpon
@@hero-bo7qc Yeah, the grandparents didn't help all that much either. As for him jumping to conclusions the way he did, it kinda makes sense if he's relieved this kind of bullying before throughout his life. But it's also part of the game's poor story writing. Pokémon has never really had many well-written characters.
If GameFreak ever does make a mainline Pokémon game where you can trade with your rival or rivals early on before the 3rd or 4th gym and the traded Pokémon becomes a secondary ace on the rivals team. That would be a real cool, interesting and endearing feature.
It'd probably be a speed running strat to give them something very bad

Fun fact: if you forgot in galar trading applin is a form of romance
Can we just take a moment to remember that in galar, trading applin’s are confessions?.. 😭
Thanks for trying, I really do appreciate it.. but then again, I really don’t think Ogerpon would be as happy with me as her trainer.
it's a canon event
God I really wish I could. I really didn't care for Ogerpon and I wish the game gave us the option to give it to him in the first DLC in exchange for the Pokedex entry, with him offering it here to people who regretted or wanted it back later on. You know, when he could have actually had some character growth.
So just give it to a real person who couldn’t get the dlc problem solved
The game was like
“ sorry you can’t make him happy”
Kieran being denied of Ogerpon is a canon event
Fiona was SHREKS.
If I managed to give Larry a Blood moon Ursaluna and Raifort a Great Tusk, I can find something good for Kieran
Maybe catch him a Wild Stellar Tera Type Pokemon in the Terarium.
off topic but: finally a trading sequence that doesn't lag
🤣 Bro that kieran smile in this Thumbnail
Poor Kieran at least make a interation cutscene
"Sorry i cant give you Ogerpon, but I CAN give you this rock that sat next to it briefly"
"You can't trade such a rare pokemon!"
Me with 3 Ogrepon because i played through the dlc 3 times and working on a 4th.
"Rare?"
Still once per Save File, a whole playthough vs something you can just Quick Ball catch off the side of the Road.
@omegadrive9999 Actually, you can go get Ogrepon as soon as you are set free to start the treasure hunt. Add in that with pokemon home, you can transfer your starter to your main account, max out its level, EVs, moveset, and transfer it back to the OT (again pokemon home) the starter will listen 100% of the time (no napping, confusion, or disobedience) and you can just blow through the kitikami story due to all the pokemon being under level 20
(Ogrepon when caught will be Lv 20)
Throw in a turbo controller should take you like 3.5 hours (damn hour long opening) as long as you don't goof around
@@etagongaming7463 Oh so not as bad as I thought as far as if you want more than one on your Team, but still too long for something you still couldn't trade him anyway because for those trades it has to be the Save Flie's Original Trainer ID.

He was literally the only one who cared about Ogerpon.
His sister just insulted it until getting told otherwise. And she just constantly verbally abused her brother, probably the main reason why he never had any friends to begin with, so no wonder that he would empathize with the villian of a story. @@hero-bo7qc

"London Bridge " is an awesome nickname. 😂
they could have at least coded kieran to say something about it, and refuse to accept ogrepon.
It makes sense they wouldnt want you to trade away certain pokemon that you cannot reobtain, but it does feel like this should be an option ye should be able to do if you rlly wanted to, like have like 5 are you sure boxes.
You cant trade any of them shinies either
