Xu Xin (simplified Chinese: 许昕; traditional Chinese: 許昕; pinyin: Xǔ Xīn; born 8 January 1990) is a Chinese professional table tennis player who is ranked world No. 2 for men's singles by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), as of April 2020. He first reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 1 in January 2013.
He has won 17 World Tour Singles titles and has won the World Championships in men's doubles 3 times, mixed doubles 2 times, and fives times in the team event. In addition, Xu Xin along with Ma Long and Zhang Jike won the men's team gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Xu Xin is definitely my favourite among the chinese players. He doesnj't allways win, but WHAT an artist.
He is # 1 on the world ranking ,and he doesn't always win? Does he just show up for pretty? But he beat Hairymoto 9-0,does that count?

Man, I'm telling you. Xu Xin is at the same time a nice quiet guy. One day I was on Beijing Subway, he's right in front of me. Says nothing. Just playing his video game on the phone. No one seemed to recognize who he is. I kept it that way. Great dude.

The athleticism Xu Xin plays at combined with his insane coordination is just so impressive. Probably overall one of the great athletes in the world.

His coach is Ma Lin and it shows, their playing is very similar in several shots, they're both artists

由于许昕是少见的左手直板横打选手，完美适配双打。所以在安排战术的时候，教练一般会让他参加双打（包括男子和混合）还有团体的双打，所以他为了整个团队，放弃了很多奥运男子单打的机会

@Roy de Vries de Vries well, the top Chinese table tennis players practice for hours per day, and it's serious practice, no fooling around.
@Roy de Vries de Vries A lot of guys have good footwork. The Korean penholder Ryu Seung Min had as good a footwork as I've ever seen. Some of the better defensive players have great footwork too, like Joo Se Hyuk, Koji Matsushita and Ruwen Filus

Xu Xin and Ma Long are easily the most aggressive players of the game .... What differentiates Xu Xin is that he really waits for the ball to drop low before hitting a crazy forehand
You could tell Ma Long was by far the best player of the ones Xu faced in these.......those rallies were insane, you couldn't even see the ball half the time they were hitting so fast

Most exciting table tennis player ever
Why are the last three duels? Coz, they show the most exciting, insanely incredible points. Liang JK, Fan ZD and Ma L are the toughest opponents for Xu Xin coz the know each other's game so well and are able to counter before out doing each other. Sadly, there might NOT be another PENHOLDER CLOUD WALKING like Xu Xin as most players have turned to shake hand. But here it clearly shows if you know how to use a weapon, you can still find the target. (BTW, Xu Xin was world #1 in 2013 and #3 in 2022, the only penholder in world top ten). Many thanks and much obliged to Street TT from Sydney Australia.
