- Here's the winning option from the TRG MP7 strawpoll. Just for context, I asked the comment section in the TRG MP7 Finale video who was the most unlucky, and the majority said it was Jon; therefore, I focused solely on him by including as many unlucky moments I could find, as well as a few good ones to counter it. And before anyone else asks, I'll do Tim vs Mario Party 4 soon enough.

Now we're going to need ProtonJon vs Mario Party DS, because holy hell did that game shit all over him.
The games where his luck was good were most of the GameCube Mario Party games (except for 7 since the luck was evenly split between himself, Chugga/Emile, and NCS/Tim) and 8, where the games he had the worst luck were Mario Party 3 and Mario Party DS (the latter being shut out by Emile on almost all the boards and Tim on Bowser’s Pinball Machine).

I think 23:00 has to be my favourite moment in the entire LP. After being so certain that the A.I. always picks the first option it instead decides to flip the script and troll Jon even more.
And just Jon freaking out over the fact the AI is going for him instead of Emile is great, and even Emile and Tim can't believe it as Jon is freaking out.
Especially how it was so important to duel Emile
I think the ai in this game is programmed to usually target 2nd place.

That mostly applied for the Pagoda Peak run.
To this day, Mario still hates Jon for trading him for Waluigi.
Same goes for Daisy, she beat Emile,and would have won it bonus stars were different.😶

No, 3 was much worse, between the eviler AI and Chugga debatably being an ass.
Expendable Round Not to mention Jon going into 3 blind. That Snowball Summit loss might’ve been bad on Chugga’s part, but nowhere in that game’s instructions does it tell you to mash B to build a snowball. Not even The Top 100 remake fixes that

and we all though the "odd numbered curse" was gone after Mario Party 5, it seems like it wasn't (it was most probably Daisy)
3:20 - Emile with that "C'MON!!!" at Jon's 10 roll was great, and it feels like Mario Party 7 was giving him the finger here rather than what it'd done to Jon earlier on.

I think Emile was less shit on overall remembering that LP, whether compared to Tim's shut out or random chance (i.e. MP4 vs Tim as opposed to jsut Tim's bad MP4 experience).

The AI has a giant target on Jon.
Despite the luck Jon had during this LP this was probably one of the most fun LPs to sit through cause there were so many funny moments here even if some were at the expense of Jon via MP7's RNG Tim and Emile had their moments too yet it was still a fun ride. Makes me wonder how MP8 will be.

I've always considered Jon the hero of this story fighting against the evil AI and his minion Chugga.
One of the most intense and close LPs of Mario Party I have ever seen.
wow, the game REALLY hates Jon. constantly dueled by the A.I., losing his orb spaces all the time, and having the A.I. on the team.
As much as I tend to root for Jon (I'm weird like that) this was a great LP to see him fall on his face.
That shouldn't be all that weird considering TRG is made of 3 different personalities, each with their own fanbase...
@@PyraXadon I say that because most of the comments I read on the actual parts of, say, Mario Party 6, were angry that Jon kept winning, when I was consistently rooting for Jon.
Also because I'm actually a bigger fan of Emile, and I don't usually go out of my way to watch Jon's stuff.
@@HyperSonicX I always root for NCS, I have a soft spot for the underdog. Although he is phenomenal at games in his own way, watch him play old-school games like Mega Man 1 or Super Mario Bros. 3! It blows me away dude.

Jon had bad luck in MP3 and MP7, what is a coincidence about it was that they were both the last Mario Party games that was released for it’s console.
Considering that Mario Party DS is, well, the _only_ Mario Party on the DS, what you're saying is that this will result in MP9 (the last Wii Mario Party) and MP10 (the only new Mario Party on Wii U) will also screw him at every turn.

@@beta511ee4 He had bad luck in 3 and 7. 3 was the last game in the series on the N64 and 7 was the last game on the Gamecube. Seeing how 9 is the last on the Wii, I feel like he'll have bad luck there too. And yes, I replied late on this. Sorry.

@@n00bers38 Sony has neglected more of their IPs than Nintendo has. Not really defending Nintendo here because it's infuriating how much they shown no care at all with the Chibi Robo series for example. But the way Sony just doesn't care at all for their past exclusives that they actually own is pretty frustrating. Instead they just push Spyro, Crash, Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid even though they don't really own any of these games.
They make us pay for Switch online which the connection in every game I play it with is utter garbage

The lesson Jon needs to follow. Don't play as an assist trophy, play as someone who is in Smash. Especially if you decided to play as one in Mario Party 1 and 2.
But that's exactly what Emile did in 5 and 6 and he only won when he picked someone who wasn't in Smash.

I think Neon Heights was Jon's Mario Party 3 Luck in a nutshell. Jeez, Emile did not let Jon have one space there.
Jon had never played Mario Party 4-6 before TRG, and he absolutely dominated them.
So of course when they get up to 7, which Jon has stated was the GameCube Mario Party that he played regularly in college, the game betrays him and gives him perhaps his most brutal luck since Mario Party 3.
Yesss, I've been waiting for this.
My all time favorite Mario Party game, and it's just what I imagined what TRG's gameplay would look like.
I'd love to see a quick Top 100 playthrough after 10. See what minigames improved and which stayed the same.
I don't know if they're up for another round of the beat goes on...

Emile being Sun Wokong in the Journey To The West picture sent me because of how accurate to the source material that choice of TRG member is.
This is exactly why I can never play with players like chugga. He's a good lp'er , but he would be annoying as hell to play against.
Because his luck is ridiculous? It's not as good in his actual LPs as it took him almost 15 attempts at the dog race track in Majora's mask with the Mask of Truth.

Out of all the Gamecube Mario Party games I like 7 the least based on the changes and additions this game did. Though I wasn't expecting the behavior of the AI in the TRG playthrough to be this bad. Usually you expect the AI to be program to have the "dog chasing a car" mentality where they target 1st no matter what without considering any elements of strategy. I haven't played this one extensively in years but the way Jon is targeted in instances that go against the idea about how the AI behaves makes me wonder if the dev team themselves caused this and if they did than I wonder why they thought it was a good idea.
I fucking died when Mario punched Jon off of the minigame platform in Tile and Error.

The problem is that Jon hasn’t finished his Superman 64 LP. Because of this, the game cursed him with astonishingly crappy luck. Only by completing that LP can the curse be broken. And no, I am *_NOT_* saying this because “hurr durr, i wanna see jon complete hiz lp herp derp.”

Every TRG member won 2 boards each and Emile had 33 stars and 403 coins. Jon had 32 stars and 419 coins.

Sometimes I'm not sure if the AI is stupid and moves within Jon's luck......or the "bad luck" is more mundane in the sense the AI is deliberately spiteful regardless of its own status.
