- All right, and now a special compilation on The Runaway Guys; more specifically, ProtonJon! I have decided to do a compilation of Jon's terrible luck in the third Mario Party title. The reason I am only doing Mario Party 3 is because it's this game that Jon's luck was at his absolute worst, compared to the other titles. Also, keep in mind that just like my BSC compilation of Ted's overall experience with Mario Party, I took it upon myself to include moments that range between standard losses, to points where Jon gets fucked over by the game (and possibly Emile). So... Happy late birthday, ProtonJon, consider this a gift, if you want.

Jon's girlfriend had broken up with him just before this as well. And Chugga skips ONE set of instructions, and suddenly, the whole world explodes. Though anyone would be bitter about bad luck...

I thought mp7 was fine. But no one expected the sheer... mp3 was luckz and emile being paranoid. Mpds was complete bullshit. From the ztar and -1 star space at kamek, the roll at bowser board, or the one WHERE THE DESCRIPTIVE😂 OF THE MAP, Lied to trg and emile can get 22 stars. I only plated that one a few times. Who knew it was deadly

Jon's made a ton of relationship jokes. And gets increasingly more depressed as the episodes go on. And his girlfriend dumped him… In retrospect, this LP is the hardest to watch.
Chuggaa also said that he and Jon weren’t really getting along because things were rough. He himself even admitted later that he was really annoying in these videos

He got both the Star and a Barter Box, leading to "OH FRICK!" when Jon suddenly stole the latter with a Plunder Chest he viewed his 'insurance policy'.

Yeah, I've grown to despise that minigame, and not just for that. It turns out that if you mash fast enough, everyone else gets pushed back, and if everyone else gets eaten, the Cheep Cheep will speed up greatly to the point where it outspeeds you and eats you as well. In other words, _you can screw yourself over by being too good at button mashing._

He went from having a unlucky performance in Mario Party 3, to winning 12 of the last 15 boards. Such a turnaround
Because it's boring now. Sure he has nice and horrendous luck with the rolls and everything, but you already know in the back of your mind that he's going to win the board... AGAIN.
He's actually at 14 for the last 19 at this point. Still fantastic

No matter what, I still stand by Emile. He is not a douche, he just makes mistakes or goes a little overboard sometimes. Parts of MP3 are those times.

Gavin Bunting True but at the time of recording he had no idea Jon was going through a breakup with his ex gf and actually gave Jon a huge heartfelt apology for his remarks in this project when he found out. He's also said that he would someday like to redo MP3.

You know what I find funny? At the end of Creepy Cavern when Emile used the Poison Mushroom on Jon because he was afraid of him stealing another star with Boo, Jon only had 40 coins, meaning he COULDN'T steal a star. So, yes Jon, Emile is paranoid.
After learning this happened at the end of a 5 year relationship for Jon I understand his annoyedness
I'm still sad to see that people keep saying how Chugga was a douche in this LP.
I'm just thinking to myself, "Why Chugga?" Sure, there were some dirty tricks he made targetting Jon and had that argument in the snowball minigame, but at the end of the day, he totally doesn't mean any of it. I hope everyone can understand that and move on. Especially when Chugga is actually being more careful in helping out Jon explain the rules and situations.
You need more likes on this comment than you've got, Chugga never tries to be an ass and yet people don't understand that (or the fact that it's the kind of game where this shit happens).

Agreed. After all, he did explain during the minigame. All he forgot to do was say that you couldn't do so while moving.
They're still complaining about it in Mario Party 6, too. Even with Emile being shut out from winning in both 5 _and_ 6. Seriously, Emile suffered in the Chugga's Lost Innocence stream, he's apologized numerous times for Mario Party 3, and he didn't win a single board in 5 _or_ 6. What more do the comments section want from him? -All -_-I-_- want is for him to stop bashing Sticker Star at unneeded times, even though I agree that SS is subpar, but that has nothing to do with Mario Party.-

When you think about it BTW, it's not only that ProtonJon didn't practice this game but (at the time) Emile not explaining things out and having more intimate knowledge of the game... with these two factors in combination with the game _actively_ doing everything in it's power to impede Jon's efforts, it's safe to say that Jon was just royally fucked over in just this game alone.
Honestly, I think you should have a Chuggaaconroy vs. Mario Party 5 Highlights for Chugga's bad time in that game... all things considered to be part in parcel and the opposite to Jon's abysmal luck in Mario Party 3.
At least Jon had a chance to shine. Chugga didn't win a single board on MP5.

Looking back at it, I can see why Emile thinks this is one of their worst LPs. Jon’s ever growing frustration, the relationship references he kinda can’t help spit out, Emile being is absolute loudest and obnoxious, and Tim’s awful audio mixing makes it a hard one to go back too
I don't mind the audio mixing on Tim because at least he's easy to hear this time.

Thunder Ryu The Koopa Kard is automatically used when you pass the bank, it’s just landing on it gives you the option. I found that out when I saw the video. Chugga really shouldn’t have button mashed regardless, though

This used to be way more funny to me but now knowing what Jon was going through when this was recorded it's lost some of that humor. That said when Emile discovered this he gave Jon a very big heartfelt apology for some of his meaner jokes and jabs plus he's gone on record saying that MP3 was not a project he was proud of and that he would someday love to redo MP3.

Yeah, it’s the same with Chugga’s Super Mario Sunshine Let’s Play. Chugga’s admitted that he was suffering from depression at the time and faked most of his enthusiasm. He hates how his (in his opinion) worst Let’s Play’s his most viewed and the one that launched him into TH-cam fame. I’d personally love to see him redo his Sunshine LP and give it the enthusiasm it deserves. He’s already redone his first LP (EarthBound) and is currently LPing Paper Mario (his 3rd LP) again, so I’d like to see a remastered Sunshine LP someday.
Looking forward to Jon vs Mario party DS because holy moly that game is kicking his ass.
And now, as if to make up for his bad luck here (and to an extent Mario Party), Jon's had two lucky Mario Parties in a row, 5 and 6. Time will tell if 7 sees that turn around.

This was definitely the hardest to watch. Jon's luck was at its absolute worst, and Emile was completely unaware of the fact that Jon had broken up with his girlfriend at the time, and so he ended up coming across as a douche to Jon. Hell, Emile STILL gets flack from the comments sections in their Mario Party LP videos because of it, even though he made a HUGE apology to Jon and went on the record of saying that he regrets how he acted during recording. I hope Emile does follow through on his word and do a re-recording of MP3 someday. Because now, Jon is happily married and Emile doesn't try to dick him over all the time in their later Mario Party LPs.

Shockingly enough, Jon and I have both experienced a lot of bullshit with Mario Party 3. I wouldn't say I've been through as much hell as Jon, but I've been kicked in the ass so much by this game I try not to play it as much as the other games.

Honestly, Mario Party 3 is really obnoxious with the draws in the free-for-all minigames. Why not just have multiple players win? I can understand calling it a draw if all four players won, but when just two win? The players kind of deserve something after that.
Also, Snowball Summit. Even if Jon read the instructions, I don't think the game tells you to hold still while tapping B to form the snowball.
Oh, and Cheep Cheep Chase. That minigame is such a downgrade from Skateboard Scamper. The diving mechanic just makes things awkward and not flow well unlike the jumping with the skateboards. Plus, that pop up with the bombs, inexcusable. There's no reason they should've loaded up so late, everything should've already been loaded within the minigame. It's a literal hallway.
Emperor Alonzo The worst part about Snowball Summit is The Top 100 port STILL doesn’t tell you that. I wonder what child’s gonna figure that out in either version without a guide or trial and error

This is hard to watch, like the Duel mode was entertaining, but damn, I thought they were going to cancel TRG when this LP came out all those years ago, and the editors comment at the very end of the Party Mode was.. childish
But this is all in the past, and I'm happy to see them doing very well
I consider this my fav, as of now I'm use to jon winning everything so I like looking back at Jon's bad luck.
