Really? I just want one headphone to play games (PC COD: Warzone) and running/gym. Is this the correct option?
I have the xm5 and the hyper x i mostly use the xm5 even in games like valorant and for me its been pretty good its only problem for me is when you've been gaming for hours it just dies on you
I have the sony xm5’s too and i play valorant, but i cant really hear the footsteps and the sound directions on it. Is there like a setting you use that helps with it?
I just tried this using BT on my pc set up for couch gaming. I sit about 3 metres from my PC. I didnt get any input lag or issues with the audio via BT. My BT is built into my MOBO and supports BT 5.3. Played a few rounds of CS 2 with no issues.
These are my eq settings for gaming (search the official app): 400hz: 7 1khz: 0 2.5khz: 6 6.3khz: 10 16khz: 7 Bass: 10 Note that these values are adapted to the volume of my Windows which is 24, so they may vary a bit depending on your own volume. For best customization, I strongly recommend to enable double device connection and test the different options on your own. I put everyting on 5 by default and then proceeded to move up and down the values and repeat same ingame sounds again and again.
I stopped using my XM5s on my PC. Got a nice mic for it that attached thru the mic hole for I think 20 dollars, that’s how I originally spoke. Got a 60 dollar used blue yeti mic a 13 dollar microphone arm and a pair of 40 dollar IEMs. My friends say I sound quite a bit better and I’ve found that I like the IEMs for gaming a bit better.
This is so in depth and helpful. Thanks for this review!!! I recently got their mid tier lineup, the xb910n. Decent entry to noise cancellation headphones imo.
If they actually sound great powered on with PC gaming. I don't see the issue. The battery last 30 hours. Takes about 3.5 hours for a full charge from empty. And hence you'd charge before that so even less time charging. And gaming 8-10 hours a day. That is 3 days gaming. Then when you're sleeping plug in a cable. Doesn't sound all that complicated. The kind of cool part it does have preamps built in. DSEE for clean sound. I would be more concerned about how is the soundstage. I am actually contemplating these not for PC gaming foremost. But for my Bravia 9 TV for 3D sound playing Netflix/Prime and Kodi etc. I can't crank any soundbar so headphones are a must. So if these sound nice and clean and great 3D sound. They are a keeper for that alone. If as Bonus they can also be used on my PC with the Sennheiser GSX1200 surround and powered on sounding great. That just ups the value for these expensive headphones a lot.
@@ZXTechi agree, i have currently been using a wireless headset and often forget to charge it until it dies, but is there a way to charge while they are in use?
how is the surround sound, obviously its virtual but i play rainbow six siege and rely on that, my current headphones Corsair virtuoso SE have really good (fake) 7.1 surround
Honestly, wireless over bluetooth on PC is still fine. I use my XM4s with a good bluetooth 5.0 usb dongle by TP-LINK which you can get for just over SG$10 and the latency is negligible if any. I do use a separate microphone for comms but its worth it. High quality audio plus the freedom of moving around your room or going to the bathroom, etc.
Weird sony doesn't bother making an windows app for their headphones and futures.. Got the wh-ch720n, liking the sound quality after some tinkering with eq they sound better than expected. But, on my pc the options are limited.. Yet to try 3 party eq via Bluetooth tough. Not sure if it is possible, is it??
Do you still need to set it up when in wired? I plug it in wired and powered it on. On phone, for example you need to enable the ldac, choose the playback quality and all that. Do you need to go through the same process on PC? I couldn't really find any guides regarding this!

@shadowside8433 Honestly it's my favorite headset by far for gaming. I don't notice any latency personally and the audio quality is incredible. I definitely wouldn't use it without a standalone mic though, it's not an issue with the headset itself but just an inherent problem with Bluetooth in general, but the audio turns mono and sounds like trash if you're using the XM5's mic. I use a Hyper X microphone and both work flawlessly together.
