You made this video an actual worthwhile watch dude. You’re fast becoming the goat in Gaming audio. Eclipsed the majority of other reviewers in such a short time. Your effort isn’t going unnoticed 🫡🤘
I'll be honest, I'm very surprised to see Alienware and ASUS on this list. Always just kinda considered them as cheap "gotta have that in our lineup but don't wanna design our own" kinda whitelabel thing
The Asus Delta II are legitimately good. Don't care for the RGB personally, but just turned that off. I use my Sennheiser PC37X (open back) a lot of the time but when I want zero distractions and play a game where footsteps or harder to hear details are important then the Delta II are my go to. It's also nice to have a gaming headset that you can remove the mic, never use a mic when I game, and unfortunately the Sennheiser PC37X has a non detachable mic even if it can be rotated up out of the way
Will the mic on the turtle beach atlas air headset pick up sound of what I'm watching or playing since the headset is an open back? Will my friends be able to hear youtube from my own headset when I'm in a call?
On the a50 gen 5 I don’t really have the space for the dock so have it under the desk in a cable cage. I charge the headset with a usbc cable and it solves all the problem you mention around charging with the dock
I have an astro a50, I love it but I'm constantly listening to people complain about how bad the mic quality is, and the cushion bit on the top doesnt stay in place, I had to buy a clip to hold it together
The A50 he is talking about in the vid, is the one that literally released on the 16th of november this year. The older ones are bad in terms of mic quality but this one has the same mic as the A50X. The new A50s are exactly the same as the A50Xs except for the base station. (no hdmi, only usb-c) The new ones are called the A50 Gen 5 or some websites call it the A50 Lightspeed.
Asus Delta II are my favorite on this list. I dont like the rgb but that can be turned off. The Astros do have a great mic but as someone who never uses the mic, id prefer to be able to remove it.
I use the sony inzone H9, but those A50s really have me questioning my purchase lol. Astro has always been a solid choice honestly, and that mic quality is fucking absurd from a gaming headset.
I know right, my Logitech G Pro X headset is falling apart, dog knocked it off my desk and cracked it, wire is pulling apart on both ends. I was just looking for another headset recently, seriously considering going wireless again.
Get Audeze Maxwell. If you don't care for imaging (footsteps) too much its no competition. Maxwell has better audio quality than any headphone by a large margin. It was #1 on randomfrankp's 2023 top list and still beats 2024's #1, the Astro A50, in my opinion. Single player games, music and movies are extremely immersive due to Audeze's planar magnetic drivers.
I'd recommend the Alienware Pro. Just purchased it myself as well, and feels like it'll be a lot more of a comfortable headset than Maxwell's. Seems like a good successor to the Razer Barracuda
@@lbieniek11 I was thinking the same why Isn't the Arctic nova pro wireless mentioned, but when I search all the models mentioned in the video they are all from 2024, so yeah only 2024, imo even tho they are from 2022 (arctis nova pro) they are one of the best wireless headset you can get rn
PSA make sure whatever company you buy from sells replacement usb dongles. I lost my razor black shark v2 pro 2023 dongle and now I useless ~$200 headset cause razor doesn’t sell replacement dongles.
2 days of use, ~20 is terrible or today's standards. Especially when headsets in this very list have 80 hour batteries. My point was the dock is finicky and doesnt always charge when you place the headset down. More times than not when I set it down, although it seemed to connect, the pogo pins were not actuated. A point I mentioned that I think is pretty important for people to be aware of.
@ yes, 20hrs battery is not great by any means. That said, because of the dock, this is a non issue. Means you essentially never have to charge your headset. It would be nice if the dock had stronger magnets and better connection to the headset, so I can see this a minor negative. But it does work as it is. It comes down to user error 99% of the time that it doesn’t work. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t it also have an indicator light when it is connected to the base station? The only negative is the price to sound quality factor imo. It has everything other than premium audio quality. Not saying it’s bad, it just could sound better. Would love a planar Astro one day in the future…. Anywho. Kudos on a great collab video. Joe is one of the most genuine people I’ve seen in the TH-cam tech review space in a long while.
Not much point in considering these when the Audeze Maxwell exists. The weight and price are the only drawbacks. The sound is so far ahead of other options, those are small prices to pay.
Weight / comfort, price, durability, imaging are all not great on the the Maxwell. It's definitely not the "best" option for everyone. In comparison, the Alienware Pro does better for all those things and its sound quality is one of the best of all compared to all other gaming headsets aside from Maxwell and Astros, but the gap between the Maxwell and other gaming headsets like the Alienware Pro is closing and the gap is becoming smaller.
Na. I have the Maxwell and they do sound amazing. I also have the A50x and prefer them for gaming almost every time. They sound great and have all the features you would need. Maxwells sound a bit 'better', but that's the only thing they do better.
If you can still find them, the Sennheiser/Epos (Drop Collabs) PC37X and PC38X are excellent headsets with great mics. I got my PC37X on Amazon a few years ago. RandomFrankP had these on his Headset of the Year vid a few years ago
Dont buy steelseries or astro lol they are not the best for hearing footsteps. Ur best bet is an IEM or open back headphone like the mmx330 pro etc... do ur own research.
For PC that's 100 percent the best route. You can get a cheap yetti for like 50 bucks, and some studio cans for 100 and you'll have a solid set up. Gaming headsets are mostly best used for consoles. That being said, the inzone H9 that I use has amazing sound and noise cancelation. But I mostly game on ps5
Cool video but unlike mice headset tech doesnt really change over the years... would be way more useful for people to know the best audio solutions in general instead of just focusing on 2024 releases. I kinda feel bad for how much 'gamer' companies scam people with subpar products at a premium price. Please people just buy your headphone and mic separately...
The mic test was the only thing i disliked. For a channel like yours, one would expect when you do a mic test, to at least use the same lines over and over. It might be boring, but it's how it should be done.
this was kind of weird the nova Arctic pro wasn’t even in this and not even a razer black shark V2 pro for some reason there was like three or four turtle beach headsets like what the fuck obviously this was probably sponsored by turtle Beach. Why would you have two or three of the same brand
The mic test caught me off-guard 😂
Ayooooooooo 😂😂😂

have you tried the audeze maxwell? simply incredible
Yes, they made last years list.

Imperceivable to humans over 2.4ghz.

Why do you measure headset weight in ounces and mice in grams?
Also, what is an ounce?
Literally been trying to figure out my new wireless headset to buy 🙏
Was not expecting the astro mic to sound this good
ROG Delta II mic sounds good. To me sounds comparable to Astro A50
Pulse elite also likes to break within a few months of being used so that's always great for over 150 bucks
Thanks adding the glasses component to the review!
I purchased the Alienware headset, but it was not very impressive to me. There was white noise, and my Cloud 3 wireless sounded much better to me.
Idk why or how I knew bro was finna do “they not like is” on the mic test, go crazy no diddy 😂
