@@susihormon7821 oh wow, I hope my dealer will update me soon then. Last I heard was that there are 90 demonstrators in the country waiting to go out to dealers but my dealership said orders were still dark.
Yea I also believe that the design will stand the test of time. It reminds me like the i8, looks so futuristic, after years it still is. Coolest design doesn't always mean it will age quickly, especially if done well ...
This is not an suv. Look at the freehigths compared to propper suv’s like range Rover, mb Ml class bmw x5 etc. Design wise, it depends on the eyes looking rigth?
When you have to sit passengers on top of a battery pack, that will necessarily raise the car's height, giving it a sort-of SUV look. The Polestar2 has a similar high-sedan look that somewhat reminds me of the rare Subaru Legacy Outback sedan, or the AMC Eagle. I personally dislike SUVs, but find the EV6's positioning and slightly taller roof justified.
I parked next to an Ioniq 5 at Bordeaux airport last week when I was plugging the e-Niro in. It’s a big car! Wheelbase is longer than a BMW 5 series. The EV6 looks great but both cars are a bigger than we need. The e-Niro has proved to be a brilliant car to own and drive after 2.5 years and 50,000 km, solid build and well designed at least as good as German and Japanese brands I have owned in the past. Kia and Hyundai are on a roll.
The electric cars are now stirring up the car market. Porsche and other sport car manufacturers will have to fight for the customers, prices performance ratios are not what they used to be. More horsepower for less money in a family car than a expensive petrol sports car.
Great review! Reminded me of the good ol' days of Top Gear when it was at its peak, especially that introduction. Had all the detail I like. And this is currently my favourite car of all cars currently out there, it just ticks all the boxes in looks and practicality. It was really gratifying to watch it being covered in detail. Can't say I agree about the Ioniq 5, it just makes me think 80's printer. The only thing missing is the LPT1 port.
I was lucky enough to go to the launch at Kia Preston a month ago, same exact car lol. It really is a great car hands on. The inside space is enormous, nice heads up display. For those of you looking at the German Luxury SUVs also put this on your shortlist, it’s good very good. For me it’s just too big but not if but when Kia make a hot-hatch then count me in.
@@seanholdom9739 Note that it's cheaper because the model starts with smaller battery while Kia come standard with full size, actually even larger than largest Ioniq 5 battery size. Many overlooked on this part, hence why the price is actually reasonable really ...
Totally agree regarding the car! I want one! The EV6 is clearly the most interesting car launched during 2021! But the car aside, who is this guy?! Can you please make all car reviews from now on? Finally a person who seems to be genuine interested and enthusiastic about cars but not in an irritating way that seems to be made up just to stand out from the crowd. Calm and enthusiastic is the new! The language is well weighted combined with some fun elements and there is also a glimpse of fun with the electric saw. Watch and learn from this guy every other car reviewer on TH-cam! MIC DROP!
Brilliant review! This car now sits at a comfortable #2 slot on my EV wish-list, which, mind you, is a totally meaningless list since I will be forever too poor to afford any of them! :|
"things I want to adjust while I'm on the move... temperature" Am I the only one who basically sets the temperature once and basically never touches it again? Why would I want to be constantly adjusting the temperature? Set it to a figure that is comfortable and let the AC handle the rest. It's a hot day? AC will automatically cool the cabin to the set temperature. On a cold day it will heat it up. What's there to adjust?
22 degrees Auto as baseline, 2 down if it is cold out, 2 up if it is hot. Use preconditioning. Move this to where you feel best. The end. He should have picked volume :)
The same temperature setting can be too hot on a hot humid day with sun coming in or too cold on a wet miserable day. It can also depend on what you're wearing. If you've got a lot of layers on because it's cold outside, you might find yourself getting too hot as you warm up. A fixed air temp doesn't give you a fixed "feels like" temp.
@@Xenon0000000000001 humidity does not change much if you use the compressor. Great presentation - informative, entertaining, and irreverent enough to keep my interest without being annoying. I think you could make a toaster review enjoyable. Nice work!
Jack is such a great presenter. I mourned the loss of Jonny Smith when he left fully charged (thankfully he has his own channel now) and I’m worried Jack may get nicked. Please Fully Charged, do whatever you need to do to keep Jack employed. The EV6 is pretty awesome too!
Jack is good, but the top presenter I have encountered is Mat Watson from Carwow. I would love to see them both on a show like Top Gear together, and put Clarkson in between them - what a hoot!
@@gunnerlawts Each to his own but I'd rather have personalities well away from the camera. This presenter obviously knows his stuff but I find the over-exaggerated facial contortions and waving about of the arms very distracting.
As much as I like/love this, it's too big for us as a couple. Would like to see a smaller KIA, as well spec'd and thought out as this. Never the less, it's a beautiful car, very desirable.
Speaking as a professional Designer. Stauky haunches, refined lines, and subtle not overstyled body work, yeah its a classic. many of the classic cars you can think of usually have those characteristics. Its also why the Model S plaid looks so good and is an instant classic, while the model 3 is not.
Excellent review Jack, 100% nailed it. I wasn't sure about the EV6's looks when I first saw pictures of it, but like a lot of designs which look quirky at first, it grew on me. I don't think it looks like an SUV or a compact, and it doesn't look like an estate. It's sort of in between a lot of styles, and I think I would learn to like that as well... even those door mirrors! I'm not sure about the shape of the front seats when seen from the rear though, they remind me of E.T. Anyone? just me, then!
@@justinseah4011 Well, Jack said they are really comfortable, so maybe it’s an optical illusion? I’m going to try them on a test drive before I change my current KIA plug-in hybrid for this pure electric one.

@@inesz.allrounder Haha! Glad I'm not alone, anyway. And thanks for your feedback regarding the comfort. I was at Fully Charged Outside earlier this month and couldn't get close enough to see the EV6, never mind sit in it!
@@JackFeelsNerves seeing it in person in Munich was just the cherry on the cake. I've placed an order in August, probably won't get it until Q1/2022, but I am so excited for it :)
Went to a launch at the local Kia showroom. I've bought 6 various cars from them 3 Picantos (my wife loves them), 2 Sportages and a Stinger gt. The GT Line S has prized me out of my Stinger and is on order for February. Love the styling and so roomy for my 6ft 2in frame.
Firstly, I want to live in that village! Secondly, the price - we paid more than that for our 2 year old I-Pace! Looking forward to seeing it close up at our local dealership (Pembrokeshire) next month (only had a quick look at Fully Charged Outside). I think we will be buying one sooner rather than later.
Jack is one of the very few presenters who manage to command 100% of my attention. He is a revelation, and is the best thing that has happened to fully charged, which hitherto, was getting rather dowdy. Entertaining, witty & concise. Rock-on Jack. 👍
"Captain Scarlet, this is the voice of the Mysterons. We know you can hear us. We want your EV6. " Great review, Jack. The only thing missing were the hoops of light drifting across the church :-) This has to be the best EV offering at present...and love the matt grey finish.
The way he drives, he'd need to be Captain Scarlet. He's more interested in all the charge ports, than what is going on in the road in front of him, and his hands are off the wheel far too much to be safe.
This is a fantastic video and review. Neither the EV6 nor the Ioniq 5 are available in Canada, but I just made a preview video about the Ioniq 5 when it was featured at the Montréal EV show this past weekend. I thought it was brilliant with a very open interior, an amazing panoramic roof, and a great design with regards to buttons versus touch or tactile. If the EV6 is as spacious, or almost as spacious as the Ioniq 5, then I think Kia has a winner on its hands and I do think it is an excellent rebranding/redesigning of Kia vehicles. I love my e-Niro but you are correct, it was a purchase made with my head not my heart; even though I think it looks good, it is not sexy like the EV6 is... but that's just me :)
I'm in Korea, where H/K/G offers all of their electrics. Length and width wise, EV6 is on par with its Hyundai sibling, while sleeker shape ebbs into headroom and trunk space. In addition to that, you'll have to take account, well, ambiance inside the car. Ioniq 5 is much more airy, while the EV6 feels a bit like a Kia K5. EV6 feels more like a more refined one, though
@@Euroduplex I prefer EV6 interior actually, more contemporary, sporty and sophisticated while Hyundai lean towards cozy, airy and homely vibe. I'm glad both Hyundai and Kia employed different approach from each other, suits different tastes 😊
@@obidean3964 Yup like Peugeot vs Citroen :) Kia tried to make 'a good looking car that is electric' and Hyundai tried to showcase how much interior space that new purpose made electic car platform can deliver.
Ive been looking for a proper EV replacement to my BMW 320D....I like this guy (many of the rest are full of it) but this guy, I think has convinced me. So...thank you!
Shame it crashed into the back of the car in front carrying your mum to hospital half through a stroke on the M25 last week when Extinction Rebellion turned up.
I was really impressed with the EV6 when I first saw it on a number of early videos and love both the exterior and interior styling. Much prefer it to the Ioniq 5 to be honest. I expressed interest in the car when it was first available to pre-order and then attended a launch event at my local Kia dealership. Seeing it in the metal and being able to get inside it to appreciate the internal space, layout and quality then made me want it. Much the same as your experience Jack. I'm leasing a Hyundai Kona at the moment but as soon as the lease expires the EV6 is at the top of the list for test driving.
Great car, really ballzy effort by Kia and I think they’ve pulled it off. I hope they get the credit (and sales) they deserve. I think the Ioniq 5 is great, but I prefer this. It’s a little bit harder edged and a little more driver oriented, if you prefer that sort of thing and I do. I really enjoy Jack’s review style too, he always seems to tune into the essence of the cars he reviews. Let’s have more Jack reviews please Fully-Charged.
I was very impressed when I saw it in the showroom, however in real life it looks far larger that in does in video or TV. I serously wonder whether I would be able to get it in my garage. I test drove the Ioniq 5. Again a nice car but it is large. It just fitted into my garage with an inch to spare either side of the wing mirrors. So I will wait to see what the EV4 is like, which hopefully will be launched in 2022.
I love the look of the Ioniq 5, but it would not fit on my drive in SE London without concreting-over our front garden (can only just fit our 2013 Leaf, and that overhangs the pavement a bit)... so depressing... was a big factor in me starting the process to move from my 1930s house!
@@Puckerization yes, big for the UK - particularly in cities, we like hatchbacks, so we can get around more easily... hopefully energy density in batteries will improve to the level that we get shorter wheelbase cars with 300+ mile range before too long.
I agree they are seriously chunky in the flesh, I was quite surprised... A lot of the width doesn't really translate to space inside the car, it's all caught up is big wheel arches and doors which seem like 30cm thick.
Absolutely fantastic review of this car well done.I have put a deposit on this car a month ago and is to arrive in Ireland in the new year . I am so looking forward to seeing it in reality , I have ordered the GT line in red let’s hope it won’t be disappointing
I wish they’d mirror imaged the wheels. So passenger side and driver’s both have the pointy bits sweeping backwards. Apart from that great review, great SUV, if a little on the expensive side.
Saw one at an auto show in Michigan (October 2, 2021). It is a very striking vehicle in person - especially in the matte silver color. It is one of the sharpest looking cars I’ve seen in a while.
Just had a test drive and ordered one (RWD GT SLINE) next day. Great quality. ride and equipment . Now have be patient until delivery. Still love my V90 so no great hardship.
The person who laid that down in the editor should go back to school. Background music should enhance, not distract. That drum track is distracting as hell.
It's *NOT* an SUV; not tall enough with not enough headroom or ground clearance. But that aside, as a standard hatchback, very nice indeed, and probably one of the best EV hatchback's available? If I weren't waiting for the Model Y to finally become available in the UK, I could easily be tempted. Similar price to the Y too....
I purchased a 2024 Kia EV6 GT Line extended range and love it would recommend to anyone considering or replacing their current EV its well worth the money you might consider using too excessive for a Kia but don't be fooled by uneducated opinions about this manufacturer they've advanced just has Honda did in the 80 and 90s
This is bigger than I want or need. I'd like to see an eNiro replacement based on this platform. An eNiro sized car with towing ability would get my vote.
Exactly, an eNiro that can tow would meet my needs precisely. I ended up getting another fossil this year (Suzuki Vitara) as there is no affordable EV that meets my needs yet. Maybe by the time I am ready to replace that there will be used options available. Maybe they will bring out an EV4 or something that fills this gap.
Absolutely love your reviews! Just ordered my first EV going for the BMW ix3! Can’t wait to see the reviews in the coming years for the Chinese ones coming to the market, in particular the Xpeng P7i!
I drive an e-Niro and a Kona E with all the tech. I went to the launch of the EV6 in Bristol when Fully Charged and Robert attended the launch. I came away with mixed feelings. Yes the outside looks great, similar to but different to the Jag. But i remain sceptical about range, it is not as inherently economical as the Niro, Robert made this comment when he drove the Ioniq 5, which makes the larger battery essential. At speed it will be thirsty than the Kona, and a resent road trip south of Geneva, would not have worked easily with the Ioniq 5 as it did with the Kona, because of the spacing of IONITY chargers on the Autoroutes, I wonder if the EV6 would be that much better. Interior, is not head and shoulders above the finish of the Niro, yes it is different, yes it is like a M line BMW, all black and ‘focused’, but the material quality still is notch down from the Audi’s I used to run. Nice but not £50 K premium nice, too much scratchy plastic. To get all the toys, you have to go north of £50K, with paint and then pay extra for a heat pump, c.£1K. Really, stuff like that should be standard with that price level. The boot is not as accommodating as the e-Niro when you have removed the polystyrene layer, as it is very shallow and high, too much space for the rear motor. Sit in the rear like Jack showed you, and your feet will not fit under the front seats, like they will on an Ioniq5, it means rear passengers will have knees bent a lot, as the floor height is compromised by the battery underneath, (just as it is in the Tesla M3). So I guess it drives well, but when you come to reverse out of the drive in the winter, and its rained, and the reversing camera is covered from mud from the road, you really are going to miss a wiper on the rear screen. (Just see a TH-cam video about rain remaining on the rear screen of the Ioniq 5). Well I cancelled my Ioniq 5 P45 order, because of efficiency concerns, and I don’t see the EV6 being hugely different, the real world range in a British winter will mean it will travel less distance than the 2 cars I drive at the moment, and as for the accommodation and carrying capacity, I still don’t see the. EV6 being 10 -15 - 20K better than the current lower priced offerings. You still only have a handful, (at the moment) of 350kW chargers. So many merits, but some significant concerns about what you get (or don’t) for the additional premium. Case not proved Jack.
How many kWh/mile? This is what we need to know. The Kona and e-niro excelled on that front without even being done on a EV-platform. And this one has twice the voltage to reduce losses, so this one should be amazing. Is it?
I got love at first sight to this car. It's designed is really gorgeous. And when I knew about its performance, I totally wait for it to sell in Thailand.
Love that Kia hasn't done the awkward "iPad stuck on the dashboard" display unit. I look forward to seeing what they do with small and midsize cars in future.
Great entertaining and informative vlog. It looks like every other car at the moment on the market to me so I don't get your enthusiasm of the styling but good on IKA I hope it does well.
I can't get over the swoosh on the side going up to the boot. It really does grate visually for me. If I had the choice it would be the ionic 5 all day, just wish it had the handling of the ev6.
I test drove the EV6 GTS the other day. An excellent car. My only criticism is the piano black shiny trim. That is a serious problem to keep pristine as you highlighted. The demonstrator I drove had a scratch on the piano black by the drive selector wheel, and the dust was very visible. This would be a nightmare. The model you are showing us is the GTS, not the GT Line as you state. Door handles come out and the indicator cameras are only on the GTS. Great video, thank you
Great video! I love the look of this thing. It's very unique styling reminds me of when the evoque first came along. The only reason this car may not sell like hot cakes is people having brand snobbery. If Kia was a new brand (like tesla) with this exact car and price tag, people would accept it as a mid tier car, and love it. But as kia has historically been a cheaper brand, that's why some may struggle. I don't care about brands. So I'll definitely be getting one 👍
Another good review, thanks for that. A small suggestion - please write the specifications of the vehicle, such as range, battery size, speed etc. on the video.
I personally love the design of this car. I've always loved car designs that were very futuristic and different. I think my favorite part is the back end because it looks sooo different . It looks like it should be in the personal transport shuttle bay on a starship. LOL. Can't wait for this to come to the states. 👍🏼
Judging by the lack of comments on this or, for that matter, any other review, I may be the only driver on planet Earth who cares but it's worth mentioning that this is one of the only new model EVs coming to market that has a functional sunroof. I'll be ordering one very shortly now that I've discovered that. It also has roof racks and tow hitches available that are dealer installed. I'm glad this came along because It's the first thing I've seen that makes me want to move on from my first generation (2017) Ioniq EV.
When I saw the first publicity pictures of the EV6 with specifications I was taken by the concept. Your review has confirmed it as it is going to be on the streets soon. Hope I can get on in my orbit at some point. Would love to pilot one of these.
@9:00 576 hp and 0 to 60 in 3,5 seconds. Madness. Why should you want that? Do you want to get a speeding ticket so fast? And at the end complain about the short range with one battery charge. Why not drive normal, in normal mode instead of sports mode which I think should be left out of the car completely, and get a super range. But no, it has to be fast. Idiotic.
Well, I am signed up to get one in Feb 22! Thanks for giving yet another perspective on the car! I admit I I am sold head and heart to the EV6! One thing you have not mentioned whivh was an extra plus to me: there is at the moment no other EV offering such nice colours on top of everything else…🥰😉

@@JackScarlett1 i wouldn't say leading though following closely maybe. I still find a couple of Chinese brands which have more all-around complete EV platforms with better infotainment and selfdriving features. Plus Tesla of course leading them all
As to how the design of this car will age, well, it's supposed to be sporty if not an outright sports car. A great many cars with those types of design cues tend to age well. I'm thinking a Triumph Spitfire, a Ford Probe, or a Toyota Supra, maybe. Of course there's some stinkers out there, but I think this one will do fine.
@@andyjdhurley So... People who don't understand Tesla are superior in every way, or who would buy a car based on how it looks, or who care about what other people think? Fair enough.
@@MarkXHolland LOL, pretty much, yeah. I don't like the look of saloons or sports cars so Tesla are not eye candy to me and their UI is pretty terrible (speaking as an IT person who trained in human computer interfaces - it's just not suitable for controlling features of a car while driving) though I appreciate the tech and level or support. As for what other's think, why should I care? If my car makes me happy to drive it that should be all that matters right? @@dhekalia So far i only know a hand full of people in a german ev forum. On the 23rd of october there will be a big show at every dealer in germany
Yea I also believe that the design will stand the test of time. It reminds me like the i8, looks so futuristic, after years it still is. Coolest design doesn't always mean it will age quickly, especially if done well ...
It's still an SUV but at least it's better looking than everything else.
That's debatable.... your taste not someone else's
Time to get those glasses mate, this thing is fugy.
This is not an suv. Look at the freehigths compared to propper suv’s like range Rover, mb Ml class bmw x5 etc. Design wise, it depends on the eyes looking rigth?
It's not an estate either.
More horsepower for less money in a family car than a expensive petrol sports car.
i agree with your analysis nevertheless 0 to 60 in 3.5 sec does NOT make a sport car ... just a fast car in straight line.
This is a most amazing automobile, it hasn't only have the that's nice factor but it has that I WANT ONE factor!!
Fingers crossed, couple of years from now...
I'd say it looks more premium than Q4
ionic 5 far superior and cheaper
@@seanholdom9739 Note that it's cheaper because the model starts with smaller battery while Kia come standard with full size, actually even larger than largest Ioniq 5 battery size. Many overlooked on this part, hence why the price is actually reasonable really ...
Can’t wait to watch this.. having been eye’ing up the EV6 for a wee while
But, did you not just watch this?
Best and most enjoyable review of this car I have seen so far. I have watched quite a few as I have one coming in March and can’t wait. Thanks guys.
"things I want to adjust while I'm on the move... temperature"
Am I the only one who basically sets the temperature once and basically never touches it again?

Very excited for the EV6 GT in the Matte Gray 👍🏻
Thank you for this great report. You confirmed my decision to order an EV6 GT-line in July in Germany.
@mikea hiooi The suspension was rated excellent in various tests of the EV6 prototype, very close to an air suspension.
As much as I like/love this, it's too big for us as a couple. Would like to see a smaller KIA, as well spec'd and thought out as this. Never the less, it's a beautiful car, very desirable.
They are planning to do a lot more EV series. I believe ranging from EV1 to 9. Most likely not gonna be 9 cars total but you get the idea.
Have some kids, then you will feel able to justify getting one. [ if you really want one]
It seems that there's a shortage of C-segment EVs. What about ID3?
I am single and i dont like car shorter then 4.8m because i like to have space to sleep in a car when i get tired
The eNiro is smaller
It's amazing how quiet these E.V's are when driven and being review at same time it's like he's in a sound proof room great review impressive car :-)
The styling is amazing. Imo It's the most beautiful ev yet, from anyone, and easily the prettiest SUV
Speaking as a professional Designer. Stauky haunches, refined lines, and subtle not overstyled body work, yeah its a classic. many of the classic cars you can think of usually have those characteristics. Its also why the Model S plaid looks so good and is an instant classic, while the model 3 is not.
Interesting observation. The Polestar 3 and almost all the Audi eTron GT the same.
Fully charged got SO MUCH better. Such a professional material.
Well done to Robert and the team!
That intro was perfect. Awesomeness
Looks like it causes neck ache..abit too far out
@@justinseah4011 Well, Jack said they are really comfortable, so maybe it’s an optical illusion? I’m going to try them on a test drive before I change my current KIA plug-in hybrid for this pure electric one.

He's more interested in all the charge ports, than what is going on in the road in front of him, and his hands are off the wheel far too much to be safe.
that exterior is so dope!
@@Euroduplex that is great information, and what I thought the EV6 would be like. Thank you very much :-)
@@Euroduplex I prefer EV6 interior actually, more contemporary, sporty and sophisticated while Hyundai lean towards cozy, airy and homely vibe. I'm glad both Hyundai and Kia employed different approach from each other, suits different tastes 😊

Got to say for us people not looking for a car right now but watching for entertainment value Jack is doing a great job. Great review. Good stuff.

@@steveluck9541 its ev6 will be out of date with an ugly rear end and a lot more expensive to a far superior ionic 5
Best review of all times!,,,
Great car, really ballzy effort by Kia and I think they’ve pulled it off.
Cracking review. FC banging out so much great content at such a pace! AndJack you just get better and better imo 👍
It's a big car for the UK, which is not the benchmark for " big" or normal...with its narrow roads, small houses and tiny garages.
@@Puckerization yes, big for the UK - particularly in cities, we like hatchbacks, so we can get around more easily... hopefully energy density in batteries will improve to the level that we get shorter wheelbase cars with 300+ mile range before too long.
Have you tried the ID3?
No manufacturer ever did that.
From reason unknown to me.
Even the top HyperCar ones...
Saw one at an auto show in Michigan (October 2, 2021). It is a very striking vehicle in person - especially in the matte silver color. It is one of the sharpest looking cars I’ve seen in a while.
Keeping it simple, thats really nice that. Well done fully charged and excellent work Kia.
Just had a test drive and ordered one (RWD GT SLINE) next day. Great quality. ride and equipment . Now have be patient until delivery. Still love my V90 so no great hardship.
So well presented! Well done and thank you!
Incidentally, interesting choice of drum solo in the background in the concluding thoughts. 🙂
BEAST MODE
It’s the ev6 my understanding is that there are a whole family of cars coming of different sizes
Absolutely love your reviews! Just ordered my first EV going for the BMW ix3! Can’t wait to see the reviews in the coming years for the Chinese ones coming to the market, in particular the Xpeng P7i!
Hi does anyone know the name of the music that kicks in at 8:25? (Hypnotic synth)
Love the review and have booked a test drive…
Is it?
It uses about 258Wh/Mile. So the Efficiency is around 4 miles per kW.
I got love at first sight to this car. It's designed is really gorgeous. And when I knew about its performance, I totally wait for it to sell in Thailand.

I can't get over the swoosh on the side going up to the boot. It really does grate visually for me. If I had the choice it would be the ionic 5 all day, just wish it had the handling of the ev6.
To each his own - I love the swoosh on the EV6. I think that the Ioniq5 looks boring.
the ioniq 5 has the worst panelling, mix of colours, they look like stickers.
Be brand blind, that is the only way you will be open.
More $ does not necessarily mean better or good value.

@9:00 576 hp and 0 to 60 in 3,5 seconds. Madness. Why should you want that? Do you want to get a speeding ticket so fast? And at the end complain about the short range with one battery charge.
