  • There are so many questions when it comes to eschatology and our views on the end times. It is important to study and be aware of today’s climate in the spiritual world and the glorious hope we have awaiting for us as followers of Christ. Are we currently in the end times? Is there a such thing as a rapture? When will it happen? What are the different end times theologies and why are there different viewpoints? Join host Andrew Marcus as he spends time with Pastor Brent Smith from Riverside Calvary Chapel where they dive deep into the Rapture, the book of Revelation and our blessed hope that awaits us in Christ!

Loved the simple breakdown of the book of Revelation. I remember a lot of pastors shying away from the book when I was younger, so it’s refreshing to hear it explained this way

There are some major problems with the pre-trib viewpoint:
Revelation 3:10 says, “I will keep you from the time of testing coming upon the whole earth.” Sounds like pre-trib, BUT the word translated keep above is the Greek word tereo and it means “to guard by keeping the eye upon.” It does NOT mean to protect by taking us out before the tribulation starts. Don't take my word for it, look it up in a Greek Concordance.
Jesus gave two examples to look to concerning His coming again: Noah and his family were rescued from the flood on the same day the wicked were destroyed by the flood. “In the 600th year of Noah’s life, on the 17th day of the 2nd month the floodgates of the deep opened and the heavens poured down rain. On that very day, Noah and his family entered the Ark.” But that is NOT the case in a pre-trib scenario. In the pre-trib view the Godly are rescued and the wicked finally destroyed seven years later at Armageddon. In the other example Jesus gave, Lot and his family were rescued on the very day the wicked were destroyed. 2nd Thessalonians chapter 1 says, “God is just, He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you, and give relief to you who are troubled when the Lord Jesus is revealed from Heaven in flaming fire with His powerful angels bringing punishment to those who don’t know God and refuse to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ.” AGAIN, the Godly are rescued on the very day the wicked are punished: when the Lord Jesus is revealed from Heaven in flaming fire...this happens at the 2nd Coming. By the way, there is not a single verse that even hints that the Holy Spirit residing in the church is the restrainer of the anti-christ. We as believers are promised to be removed BEFORE God's wrath, the Day of the Lord. The pre-trib view is that entire seven-year period called Daniel's 70th week is the day of the Lord. But 2Peter 3:10 says, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. We KNOW this does NOT happen in the first three and a half years of Daniel's 70th week, because the anti-christ doesn't break his treaty with Israel until the mid-point of the seven years in the Abomination of Desolation. He couldn't be keeping a treaty with the atmosphere gone, and the elements melted, and the earth and all its works burned up.
Also, Revelation chapter 6 has the 5th seal as the tribulation martyrs and then the 6th seal the sign in the sun and moon, that Joel says comes right BEFORE the Day of the Lord. THEN the Bible says, “The people hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks and cried to the mountains ‘fall on us and hide us from the face of the one on the throne and the wrath of the Lamb, for the great Day of their wrath has come.’” So, we have tribulation, THEN "Immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days, we have the sign in sun and moon, and THEN God's Day of the Lord Wrath. Joel 2:31 says, "The sun will be darkened, and the moon turned to blood BEFORE the great and terrible Day of the Lord." In Matthew 24 says, " “Immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;" This means the signs in the sun and moon that Joel says, comes right BEFORE the day of the Lord, come right AFTER the tribulation. By the way, the tribulation doesn't start until the warning sign is given, and according to Jesus, the warning sign is the Abomination of Desolation or the mid-point. I believe the Pre-Wrath Rapture best fits scripture. Pre-wrath has the rapture occurring somewhere between the mid-point and the end of Daniel's 70th week.

Very well said and explained! That's exactly what I believe. There are too many scriptures proving that we will be here in the tribulation and I have not read a single scripture that says we will be lifted up before trouble comes! It's nice to see when people read the Word instead of just following what other people say about it! Stay safe and blessed! 🙏

Appreciate the dialogue guys, our purpose of this video is to bring the topic of eschatology back into the light as it seems more and more lately it's becoming a lost thought. :)

The current end times narrative (rapture) was not in the Bible for the first 1900 centuries of the church, read that again and again.

Not true. It’s in the bible since it was written. Augustine was the official position of writings which is why it was as popular and Mede and Mather 1500-1700 well before Darby. Should also mention it’s ok to disagree. If you’re a believer, we are on the same saved team.

It's true we are on the same team regardless of how His return looks! Our purpose of this video is to bring the topic of eschatology back into the light as it becomes more forgotten among younger generations. :)

In the first coming of Christ no one expected him coming this way. All the prophecies just makes sense looking back. Maybe it’s the same with he’s second coming. And also I don’t believe the most of book of revelation it’s just for us to know what’s happening after rapture.

It's a good thought! Revelation has heavy ties and parallels with other books of the Bible which would bring hope to many different people for many different time periods! 🙌
