That's an easier way to attach elastic to a skirt than to put it through a channel. And I'm in agreement with the others about how relaxing your videos are as you smoothly make pretty garments.
Hello! I absolutely love all your videos and the beautiful clothes you make. I'm sure you majored in fashion design(or maybe not) but it would be very interesting if you made a video on how you learned to make clothes and/or your education pertaining fashion. 💕 Perhaps in the future I will pursue my second degree in fashion design.🙏
Oh, thank you! 💕 There isn't much to tell I guess. I started playing around with my dolls clothes at a young age. I got a very cheap sewing machine as a teenager and I would re-make all of my clothes. I went to University to study Fashion Design. Meanwhile, I got a job in the fashion industry working closely with designers & buyers. Then I created my own clothing brand and started selling patterns. And now we are here! That's the whole story :)
Hi Karolina! I really love your videos, they are so aesthetically beautiful and calming to watch. If I use chiffon for this will I need to line the skirt as it will look sheer? Can you show us how to line it? Thank you ❤
Hi there, thank you I'm glad you like them. Chiffon is a lightweight fabric so I'll say yes you would probably have to add lining. To do so all you have to do it cut out a shorter version of the skirt, insert it inside, and then continue to follow the tutorial by adding elastic with two layers of the skirt instead of one. I hope that makes sense :)
Seriously, it's the sewing machine. When I had a cheap sewing machine I ALWAYS had that issue and it was really demotivating to start any project. Since I changed for a better sewing machine that doesn't happen. Sometimes it might stuck right in the begging, but in that case I'll start a stitch 1cm from the edge and it works perfectly! 😊
Hiii, what sewing machine do you use? and would say it’s beginner friendly? Also how do patterns work? I’m interested in buying this pattern. Does it basically tell me where to cut the fabric?
Hi, I use brother JK4000 and it's definately begginer friendly. In terms of the pattern question this video I made should help you get an idea how it all works: th-cam.com/video/VLWZ-uYyZE0/w-d-xo.html 😊

@@tintofmint yeah i know but for the waistline on my skirt.. should i keep my waistline measurement even if my fabric isn’t stretchy? or should i add allowance?
aaah sorry i type talk properly lmao but i cant picture out how to do the waistline part when adding elastic! haven’t tried elastic for the waistband.. usually zippers but i rlly wanna try elastic for a change🙈
I see, well if you cut the skirt along the grain line you wouldn't be able to put it on without a zipper, but because this skirt is cut on the bias the fabric has maximum stretchiness and with additional elastic you can slip the skirt on. Hope it makes sense 🙂

It’s so pretty!! I think it would work well in a variety of light fabrics, and would be great in a nice patterned fabric
Also the crepe definitely looks better than the silk on this one. I think the shine was too much for it
I like it in satin, crepe and printed🥰
Amazing tutorials. Love from India ❤️🤗
💓💓 Thank you Dear!
Can we talk about how beautiful her channel is ??? I can’t
Thank you 🥰🥰
Very nice😍. Very easily explained💯. Love from india
Thank you! Sending love back 🤗
Loved it, thanks! looks doable

@@tintofmint yes that makes sense! Can't wait to try it - thank you :)
Love your sewing patterns! Where do you get your fabric from? It's gorgeous!
It really depends, I love sourcing fabrics when I travel so I have them from all over the place really 🤗
Really love watching your vids ❤
Thank you! I wasn't expecting to like making them so much too ☺️
did you cut using the grainline or the bias? i don't have enough fabric (if bias) but still want to achieve the same flow as your satin ones 😍
I cut it on bias 🙈 but on the grainline should work too as long as fabric has some stretch
So pretty! What happens if I don't overlock? Only have a simple sewing machine 😫
You can perhaps do a french seam for the sides, double fold the hem and the waist can be raw as it's hidden under the elastic 🤗
@@tintofmint THANK YOU!
You could back stitch and zigzag stitch it’s a good replacement to overlooking
@@ghaafiethaamoodien2477 thank you! That sounds doable :D
Hola me puede decir que clase te tela comprar para la falda. Gracias
Es tela de crepe :)
love this tutorial! how did you make it so the machine doesn't eat the fabric since its so lightweight!

i love this skirt! do you use a zigzag stitch or a straight stitch when sewing on the elastic to the skirt?
Thank you! I'm using a straight stitch but zigzag will work too xx
Can I use the thin elastic? Like the one you used to make scrunches? Couldn’t get the thick one
Sure you can, it only might turn the inside out while wearing which can be quite annoying, but if you don't mind then I don't see why not :)

How many meters would you need for this skirt?
You'll need 155cm of fabric that is 150cm wide ☺️
tintofmint thank you! 😊
Would this work with stretch fabric ?
Absolutely! 🤗
No me e enterado cuanta tela hace falta para esta falda gracias.
Para hacer este estilo, necesitarás 155 cm de tela de 150 cm de ancho.
@@tintofmint muchísimas gracias
You look elegant
Thank you :)
Hermoso!!😍
😍😍
How much material do you need for this skirt?
You'll need 1.5m of fabric :)
@@tintofmint Thank you!!!
Can I know what type of cloth did you use ?
Thanks in advance :)
It's polyester crêpe :)
Where did you get the fabric?
I bought it from a scrap box in my local fabric store x
What material did you use to sew this skirt?
Hi Jelena, I'm using a leftover crepe fabric from this project 🤗th-cam.com/video/sRe-wU5csAk/w-d-xo.html

if i follow my waistline measurement how will i be able to wear it? sorry i’m confused with this part😭
Because you're adding an elastic that stretches not a solid band :)
