A big thanks to you Bjørn and the guys from Lotus for sharing these insights. I hope you get to interview more engineers in the future

This Lotus seem impressively well engineered in all aspects, handling/performance tbd, won’t be bad for sure with their racing heritage. And to complement, a beautiful car too. Hopefully they will make saloons in the future.

Keep in mind that Lotus is china owned company. This is why they are pushing a lot to Eu market with all well engineered parts

Looks like the same subwoofer driver as the Kef KC62. No wonder the stereo sounds good.

1:00 The two diaphragm design in subwoofers is common to see in some home systems these days. I have owned Sunfire True Subwoofers roughly since Bob Carver introduced them back in the 90s. Around then is when that design became popular because you can pack a lot of subwoofer into a small package.
Edit: after some research, I believe that subwoofer uses the same drive unit as the KEF KC62, which claims to reproduce frequencies down to 11 Hz (!!!) Russ anyone?

Very interesting in depth video. I imagine the rear led bar displaying the state of charge with different colours is a feature that only works when vehicle is parked. Nice to see the onboard charger is a 22Kwh instead of Kw, as you pointed out, could make a whole world of a difference :P

I have a Lotus Eletre with the Kef reference since 3 weeks. Currently very disappointed (and many other Eletre owners) in the Kef system. Almost no bass (subwoofer almost does not work) and no equalizer . Sound quality of Dab is a disaster (worse than FM!). Hopefully this is a software problem and can be fixed with an over the air update.

Prismatic, CATL Qilin pack I think. "Cell" count wouldn't really make sense, these cells are like big bricks

@@chengcao418 it is interesting to know if this is like a 180s1p or 180s2p config.

@@evkx high 800V architecture, Bjorn saw around 810V at 75%, NMC chemistry that's probably more than 200 cells. It's probably 200s2p, considering the capacity of the pack as well

I listen to music, not sound. I skip this one. The Pioneer sound system in my old Volvo 1968 142 B 18 A was more than good enough. The cassets were recorded on my state of the art Tandberg 310 MK II. :-))

the music you hear comes from sounds. And really high end sounds come from really high end systems (hardware/software).

Much better, even the “normal” KEF Surround (not the Reference)
