We don't know how it will play out. What if Oregon loses to Oregon State? What if Georgia loses to Bama? What if Washington loses to Washington State? What if Texas loses to Texas Tech? What if Oklahoma State beats Texas in the Big 12? We have seen these crazy things happen in the past, between the last game, and the Conference Championship. It will all work itself out. No need to guess.
An undefeated P5 Conference Champion has NEVER been left out of the CFP and never will be. Bama can very well make it in, but it won't be at the expense of an undefeated team. It's really that simple. The CFP committee has shown us over the last DECADE that it's always about the 4 most DESERVING teams more than necessarily the 4 "best". That's why TCU, Cincinnati, and even Washington have gotten in over the years. If it was only about BEST then at least 2 of them probably don't make it in. So why would the committee all the sudden completely change how they evaluate the teams in the LAST year of the 4 team playoff. Makes no sense. Doggy is right, Finebaum is wrong per usual. No point to even play the games if you can win all your games, win one of the 5 best conferences, and STILL not make it in. In that case, might as well just evaluate it completely on recruiting class, talent, metrics, skill positions, and then throw the 4 best teams in that way so we can save ourselves an entire regular season.
Some context is needed 1) because this is the last year of a 4 team playoff, the committee may very well say screw you to An undefeated ACC champions in favor of a 1 loss Georgia. Why? A) they can afford the backlash for one year. b) UGA is going for a 3 peat and no way the committee leaves them out. 2) I'm tired of the whole Cincy thing, the year Cincy went they went undefeated also beating ND IN South Bend! Also that was ND's only loss that season, they earned their spot.
My goodness. These people can’t even talk college football seriously. So out of order that they have to talk about how you can watch a game while eating dinner. Wasn’t this supposed to be about who gets in the playoff? I’ll give you the scenario right here. If Louisville, Alabama, Texas, Oregon, or Florida State lose within the next 2 weeks, they are out. Same goes a for the loser of Ohio State and Michigan. Let’s just say that because Ohio State is ranked higher and Michigan obviously cheats, Ohio State wins The Game. Alabama, Oregon, Washington, Florida State, Texas, and Louisville all win their rivalry games. All are still alive in the playoff hunt. Georgia beats Georgia Tech as expected. Now on to conference championship week. Florida State beats Louisville. Louisville eliminated. Washington beats Oregon. Oregon eliminated. Georgia beats Alabama. Alabama eliminated. Ohio State and Texas win their conference championship games. At this point, it’s easy. 1Georgia, 2OhioState, 3Washington, 4FloridaState. But it might not be that simple. Given the scenario that First Take went over, Florida State loses to Florida, but beats Louisville. Now both Florida State and Louisville are out. Oregon beats Washington? Washington is out. Ohio State beats Michigan. Michigan is out. Alabama beats Georgia. Texas wins. I would say 1OhioState, 2Oregon, 3Texas, 4Alabama. Yes. Georgia is out. Here’s why. Ohio State (13-0) B1G champ, key wins over Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame. No losses. Oregon (12-1) PAC-12 champ, key wins over Oregon State and Washington. Only loss to Washington, who they also beat. They have redeemed that loss. Texas (12-1) Big 12 champ. Key wins over Alabama, and Big 12 runner up (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State). Only loss to Oklahoma. Alabama (12-1) SEC champ. Key wins over Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU. Only loss to Texas, a playoff team. Georgia (12-1). Key wins over Ole Miss, Missouri, Tennessee. Only loss to Alabama. Ohio State would be #1, no debate. Only undefeated team left. Oregon would have to be #2, with a conference championship, a top 10 win, and a win over the only team who beat them. Then, the last 3 would all have to go in head-to-head order. Texas beat Alabama, Alabama beat Georgia. Texas and Alabama are conference champs, Georgia isn’t. There’s your 4.
Paul needs to watch his mouth. Comparing FSU to TCU. Ala best win was LSU, but FSU win against LSU wasn't a good win. It's called talking out of both sides of your neck. Ala barely beat USF. Well, so far your what if's aren't playing out so it's going to get messy in a couple of weeks
Bruh this aged like milk BEFORE the games were played.
