Greeny is right...sort of. Strength of record should be one of the key factors in getting in the CFP. However, your strength of record (Washington 1 - Michigan 2 - FSU 3 - Bama 4) HAS to be weighed against your strength of schedule (Washington 9 - Michigan 35 - FSU 55 - Bama 5). To find a weaker schedule than FSU in the final CFP top 25 you have to go all the way down to 23 with Liberty, and that bar doesn't get any lower than Liberty. If FSU had played a top 10 strength of schedule (Indiana, Rutgers, Michigan State, Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Arkansas, Washington, LSU), they wouldn't be unbeaten and this conversation wouldn't be happening. Much like Michigan, FSU plays in a weak conference, but so does every other team that doesn't play in the SEC (given that the Pac12 is no longer a thing). Why are the top three strength of schedule teams Big Ten then? Because all three played Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan. They all lost every one of those games. The Big Ten, Big XII and ACC are weak. The Pac12 is gone. The SEC does and will continue to dominate college football for decades to come. The Michigan reaction to the announcement of Alabama at four tells you all you need to know. They thought they were getting the easy beatdown in FSU. They know they can't beat Bama.
FSU deserved to be in. The fact their not completely undermined the entire CFP and everything about it. Robbed those kids of a playoff appearance. They beat every person in front of them, WITHOUT THEIR STARTING QB.

Strength of schedule matters more than strength of record. FSU’s qb being hurt plus that last awful ACC CHAMPIONSHIP game vs Louisville, punt after punt after punt. Alabama definitely deserved the spot after beating the No. 1 ranked team in the country
What y’all are missing is that CFP top 4 isn’t just power rankings or just standings. It’s a great combination of who DESERVES to be there and who NEEDS to be there. If we go completely off deserving, the top four are Michigan, Washington, FSU, and Liberty (which is bs). If we’re going off power rankings, it’s something in the realm of Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Alabama (which is also bs). The CFP committee did a great job of blending these two systems together to give us a playoff that’s at the same time viable but also well-earned, as all four teams are power 5 conference champs.
The committee and computer thing has and will always be stupid. We’ve never had a playoff system. We’ve only had a pick’em tournament. We should have an actual playoff system that nobody picks whom goes. It should be a win your way in and no one picks who goes. Going undefeated in a crap conference and your Heisman-hopeful QB goes down? A 16-6 win where you can’t move the ball against Louisville told the committee and the people that pay attention all we needed to know. Where they got it wrong is leaving Georgia out in my opinion. PEOPLE WILL STILL JUST WHINE AND COMPLAIN ABOUT IT
I think they got it RIGHT by putting Alabama over FSU. Beating #1 Georgia is MASSIVE, and FSU is too weak to be in the top 4. Even with an undefeated record and conference championship, Alabama deserves to get in over FSU… and I can’t stand Bama. I could see an argument either way tho.. that’s just my opinion.
@@pnut3844able yeah that’s not a bad argument, but I think they’re leaning harder on how Bama and FSU look RIGHT NOW. FSU’s QB going down could have been the “tiebreaker” in making the decision (even if u don’t believe that should factor in). This is why we need AT LEAST 8 teams in the playoffs each season. 4 spots just isn’t enough.
I see a lot more people saying Texas vs Alabama. You don’t think the Committee set this up for a rematch? 🤨 that’s going to be more of a watched game across the country.
Georgia was on a 20+ game winning streak and Alabama beat them like let’s be real here also if FSU is so good are they going to beat Georgia when they play or is that going to be a beat down?
As a lifelong Alabama fan let me apologize to the college football world for what happened this weekend. We are so sorry that we beat the #1 two times defending national champion. How dare us? I also want to apologize for having a 50 point higher strength of schedule ranking. How dare we. And the fact that we have a healthy starting quarterback is of course unforgivable. We also are responsible for the Florida State offense in the ACC championship game. What in the world were we thinking about subjecting the world to that? We are bad fans for that behavior. So forgive us Florida State. We have learned our lesson and will never do it again.
@@ronaldwilson9525 this is more about the hate for bama than it is an argument for FSU, they know what bama is about to do lmao and ROLL TIDE FOR LIFE BROTHER
Don’t we both know it. I’ve got no problem with Florida State. They did get a bad break but it’s not our fault and we have nothing to be ashamed of for doing what we needed to do. We are made to look like villains just because we won. Roll Tide and stick together like kin brother!
Everyone keeps saying "worried" about TCU. Are we all just ignoring the fact that TCU won their National Semifinal against Michigan before going up against UGA? That is the WEAKEST POSSIBLE argument. No team this year is anywhere close to what UGA was last year. All these excuses need to be MANUFACTURED to explain FSU being left out. If they left Alabama out they had the easiest reason possible, you lost a game. If you want to get in, in a year where we have 4 undefeated Power 5 Conference Champions, you have to be undefeated as well. If Bama was 13-0 I would have absolutely no problem with FSU being left out because it is all equal, then you get to missing personnel, the eye test, etc.. to make the decision. But when you have 4 Undefeated P5 Conference Champs and one with a loss, it's the easiest decision ever. My biggest gripe is that the committee set a precedent over the previous 9 seasons of the CFP (I'm not even talking about OSU with their 3rd string QB), and then decided to flip on those precedents when it suited them. I am not going to argue fair or unfair but I will say it is unreasonable to have all the teams that compete for the CFP understand what is needed to reach the Top 4 and then to all of a sudden change that. Just imagine it was Alabama in this spot being undefeated but losing their QB really late in the season and then getting jumped by a one-loss conference champ from the ACC. I think they would have to put the committee in the witness protection program. But, because it's FSU, because it's the ACC we are just supposed to roll over and accept this it how it is.
Since they were doing unprecedented stuff and the 12-team playoff is coming next year, just do a play-in for the 3rd and 4th spot and let the teams play for it. FSU vs Alabama and Georgia vs Texas. Winners are in and ranked based on their current rankings.

I needed this
"my subjective opinion is better than the committee's subjective decision!"
- the summary of everyone whining about who was left out and who got in (which happens EVERY SINGLE YEAR NO MATTER WHAT incase you guys haven't noticed lol)
It should all be objective stats that determine it. These aren't playoffs, they're invitationals
@@pnut3844able ok use nothing but "objective stats" like the BCS computers did...... nobody ever complained about that or called teams who got left out "unfair", never any controversy or outrage over those rankings huh LOL
how do you not understand that no matter what they do, no matter what teams get in, no matter who gets left out, no matter how expanded the playoffs get...... PEOPLE WILL STILL JUST WHINE AND COMPLAIN ABOUT IT
Thank you Greeny. Texas should be out.
Then why is FSU above UGA? Also Texas lost to #14 OK and got in, and FSU beats #14 UL and gets left out? Smh
This was fun. Debating, not arguing, and good points. More!
Michigan vs Washington is the matchup the country wants to see
I'm washington will get pasted like every other Pac 12 team since USC 🤣🤣
No it’s not lol 😂
@@NicholasHughes-fh8ig Then what is it?
@@Ostro1980 I haven’t heard one person say or mention “ I want to watch the Washington huskies “ I get Michigan tho
I see a lot more people saying Texas vs Alabama. You don’t think the Committee set this up for a rematch? 🤨 that’s going to be more of a watched game across the country.
Sooo... Uh.... This is EXCELLENT television. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Thoroughly entertained.
How did Alabama look vs Auburn? Or USF?
How’d they look against Georgia?
@@sinon.9394 How'd Georgia look against Georgia Tech....since the Sec is so much better than ACC
Or USF
how’d fsu look against boston college or a bad florida team starting a true freshman who’s never thrown more than 5 passes in a game 😹😹😹
Georgia was on a 20+ game winning streak and Alabama beat them like let’s be real here also if FSU is so good are they going to beat Georgia when they play or is that going to be a beat down?
Great show!
Good stuff 😂😂😂 ROLL TIDE
@@scottturner1504If you’re like me you are tired of arguing blue in the face for Alabama’s success. And Roll Tide for life.
As a Texas fan thanks for beating Georgia, don't think we get in if you lose that game.
Yo. This was entertaining AF 🤣
Best thing I've seen on espn in a minute
Refreshing content. Back to basics.
Dude says “watch the glass windows” 😂
Computers don't just watch every game, they watch every play and some even watch individual players. no human is capable of that.
I love Pat the hypeman!!!!
The best venting i have seen LOL
Absolutely hilarious; great bit, gentlemen!
Best segment ive ever seen on espn.
Pat is cracking me up. I love this mess.
Im on Greeny’s side to be clear.
Love this 😂🎉🎉 SAS Greeny n Pat.
Would have loved to see Pat Mc going full Al Pacino,” You’re out of order! You’re out of order, This whole court is out of order!”
Alabama is being scapegoated. I actually think Alabama’s win was more impressive than Texas’ win. I had Alabama at 3 and Texas at 4.
This is why pat is the best
Stephen A was absolutely SPITTING here. Cry about it
This was like a multiverse episode of the ESPNCU.
I loved this segment!
This is Auburn's fault for rushing 2 guys on the last play of the game, ending in the Milroe Miracle!
Since they were doing unprecedented stuff and the 12-team playoff is coming next year, just do a play-in for the 3rd and 4th spot and let the teams play for it. FSU vs Alabama and Georgia vs Texas. Winners are in and ranked based on their current rankings.
The South Park reference at the end 😂
