- Tony Evans, the longtime leader of the Dallas megachurch, Oakcliff Bible Fellowship Church, and best-selling author, has announced that he is stepping back from his ministry due to 'sin' he committed years ago. Now, 6 days later, Pastor of another megachurch in Dallas, Robert Morris has announced he is stepping down due to sin as well. Is there a connection or is this just a coincidence?

Also, I'm against the cult of personality & the promotion of self. I have no desire to "make a name" for myself. That's odd in this day & time I know, because most strive for this. Actually I was first introduced to Robert Morris’s ministry at Tony Evan’s church OCBF.

As a victim of molestation, what grinds my gears is how women go all out to help protect these predators. My Grandmother did it with her son, my uncle, and my own mother with her husband, my alcoholic stepfather. It made me feel as a child like my voice didn’t matter.
There’s no real accountability, no real oversight. These “elders” are most likely committing these same acts. They all cover for each other. The victim is victimized over and over again. Nobody seems to care about anything until the money stops flowing!
Morris STOLE her innocence! Those "elders" - & MORRIS - should be in PRISON! 🤬
You are on top of these stories. I am speculating Morris possibly confessed to Pastor Evans his past sins and he never disclosed it. However, now that the victim is speaking it impacts both pastors. Pastor Evans said he did not personally commit a crime but maybe he didn’t report a crime he knew transpired in the name of Jesus. IMVMO🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I dont know if it’s connected but this definitely puts more pressure on Dr Evans to be more specific of his error. The trust factor of these public preachers has seriously been fractured.
If R Kelly is in jail, this pastor definitely needs to be in jail!
Morris did a sermon called "Room 12". In the sermon, Morris admitted he targeted girls who had broken relationships with their father. Morris admitted there were multiple girls. Supposedly this all occurred before salvation. We now know that this continued after salvation. Morris admitted he had several affairs while married to his wife. What he didn't admit to was the age of the "young ladies". I don't believe Cindy was the only child Morris engaged in a sexual abusive relationship with. Morris is a predator. I think the reason why others have not come forth is because Morris has the wealth to pay for their silence. I have no proof, but I believe Evans was one of the elders that advised Morris and others to pay off the accusers. I believe Evans was advised by his board of Elders to step down because when it comes out, Evans legacy would be destroyed. Unfortunately, the truth will come out. Again, I have no proof of Evans involvement with Morris. This is just what I believe.

I always thought Mr. Evans was a decent Bible teacher but I never bought into him. What put the nail in the coffin to not take anything he said seriously was when I saw he was Kirk Franklin’s pastor (has been for many years). Kirk has definitely done questionable things since his entire career but more of his recent tour- twerking on a Clark sister, his pelvic thrust dancing like a p*rnstar etc. During the tour I saw Mr. Evans giving him accolades on stage and all this time Kirk been a member (close) and I could only think of how he never rebuked Kirk privately for his behavior. If he would sing Kirk’s praises he had to be off spiritually and sexually immoral in some way- I’m sorry for the book but you don’t step down from “past sin” after 48 years with no reason. He’s trying to soften the blow before more info comes out. Holy Spirit doesn’t lie.

Evans said he did not exercise “righteous judgment”, and if he covered up what Morris did or helped reinstate him, that would certainly be a lack of righteous judgment.
It’s not a coincidence. Sinners have been sinning since the fall of Adam and will continue to do so until Christ comes again.
I have always had a sick feeling about Robert Morris, for years. Now I know why. The Holy Spirit will alert you. Do we have ears to hear Him?

I have everyone of his books, study Bible and commentary. I look at them up on the shelf and contemplate tossing them in the trash or burn pile. My wife doesn't understand why this has hit me so hard. His ministry was built on how a man can walk strong in the Lord and rise above the flesh. I'm trying hard to fix my eyes on Jesus not man...
Tony Evans stated his sin wasn't criminal. I think he's fathered an outside child.
Interesting observation! I noted that Dr. Evans clearly said his sin was not a "crime." Five days later we hear of another pastor who committed a "crime" with a minor. Connection? Possibly. The trigger for me was the word "crime ". Himmm....
I also think it will be interesting to see how the “sins” of the fathers will impact their children - particularly the ministries of Priscilla Shirer and Anthony Evans. Unfortunate, truly unfortunate all the way around. But I’m so glad the truth is being told & hopefully the victims can now continue their healing journey ❤️🩹

I also thought there might be a connection between Tony Evans and Robert Morris because I don’t believe in coincidences. On the other hand, I do believe the Lord used Katt Williams to forewarn - He’s beyond fed up with evil in His church. Interesting that T. D. Jakes is also in Texas.
This makes me appreciate the Quakers who just met together, praised God, whoever had a word from the Lord shared it, and everyone brought food and had fellowship afterwards. There was no big me and little you. All of the Lord's people get a word, can do a Bible study, etc. it should not be that a person wearing $600 shoes should ask a single mom who can't buy her kids shoes for money and make her feel guilty if she can't give it. The end time church is going to be very different.
I don't think they are connected in terms of what Morris did. He should be in jail.. In terms of lack transparency, there is a connection.. It's pure speculation on Tony Evans because of his vague statement.

Wow! I am hurting for those who was taking advantage of of and praying for predator who did such a thing. But God will judge and I pray that it all will be exposed no matter what who it is . The devil is very busy and he had come to steal, kill , and destroy. I personally do not care if Evans steps down and does not choose to publically reveal his sin, BUT if he wishes to be restored to the pulpit, I do think it should be publically revealed, so that all can be reassured that it is not a Biblically disqualifying sin, and I think people should stop listening to his sermons or buying his books etc until he does reveal it

Yes, Dr. Tony Evans's son preached on Sunday and spoke highly of his dad. He stated his dad would come back stronger and better. Basically indicating his dad will be back as the head pastor in the pulpit after his healing journey .

I agree this is no coincidence. IMHO, It is a precursor to someone AND some thing greater. It is the beginning of sorrows to infer, make illegitimate and compromise the power of the Holy Spirit as irrelevant in the lives of believers. The gist is to release the believers of believing holiness and living as The Messiah did is not possible and just keep sinning, remain in position and we all sin and fall short. These exposures will continue until goats who don’t see will give up on living Spiritually in power and miracles and authority over the enemy and their flesh and fall away. The elect sheep have not been fooled. We will continue on in worship, praise, peace, prayer, fasting, obedience and witnessing in our daily walk. By the power of the Holy Spirit with unmerited grace and mercy that endures forever, WE WILL NOT BOW DOWN TO THIS AGENDA.

Yes. Because the VICTIM has been trying to tell people for years. If you have a problem with that you belong over there in the secret church meetings with the “elders”. If it were YOUR daughter, it would suddenly matter to you. Or maybe not.
Why shouldn't we? That's the problem. People want to minimize the impact this has had on the church. Some people may not be as strong or as non concern because they were victims too. Please be more considerate of those who aren't as unbothered by it as you appear to be. Church hurt has robbed many of their faith in God and has destroyed the meaning of the gospel for them.
