The pews are saying that they got something on the good pastor. I wonder what it could be? It must be horrible that this man just up and quit after over 40 years. Pray for this man because he's gonna need it, I suspect. Thank God, the dearly departed Lois isn't here for what's to come with him because they are going to let us know what he did. So stay tuned!!! Oh and remember to like and subscribe if you haven't already. Thanks and Take heart and care. ❤

Sis. I want to say be careful abou the things you post about Pastors.. God's servants. You don't want to bring a curse on yourself or your family. Just because you may not understand or know what God says about judging His sservants doesn't exempt you from penalties that come with talking against His servants.
I know you want to keep people "in the know" about things but I would NOT talk about things like this...

This is how I feel. The difference in this man and me is that I am not famous. My sin will not be public. We all need Jesus. I believe He is condemning himself instead of confessing his sin to God and allowing God to wash Him clean. Stepping down to allow other men who are also not without sin to lead doesn't make sense.

He has confessed to leadership and his family - his inner circle who will continue to pray for and with him. One has to be careful to whom they confess their sins. The goal is to be restored and not everyone is equipped to gently restore someone who has fallen. I don't think the congregation is entitled to any detailed explanation of his sin because he is no longer leading. When you know the specific sin, does that make you pray more for him? We live in a cruel, demonic world where he (and potentially all Christians) will inevitably become the subject of relentless ridicule because of his actions. Will that be good for repentance and healing? I believe in due time, when he is healed, he will be prompted by the Holy Spirit to share if this process will be beneficial to others. We all have sinned and fallen short. How often do you confess your sins to your brothers and sisters in Christ? Just imagine if everyone knows your sin and makes fun of you before you are truly ready to be transparent. Trust God and extend grace.

Forgiving does not equate to putting that person in a leadership position. We can and should remain in forgiveness even when someone is in unrepentant sin, it does not mean we fellowship with them while they are in that state. This is how the Bible teaches us to handle other believers. When they do repent we restore them to fellowship, not leaders.

    • @tagladyify
      @tagladyify 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

In fact many people put into leadership positions were never qualified to be in that position in the first place. Timothy and Titus tell us what qualifications to look for in leaders and how to handle fallen leaders. It also says people should be tested before they are put into deacon service. And it is supposed to be service, not lording over as the world does.

“Like the Bible states”, should the FIRST person you cast that passage at, be Tony Evan’s?! Also, THE ONLY REASON there’s “speculation”, is because he gave a half-hearted “confession”, that didn’t disclose the “SIN”. It’s pretty obvious, that he didn’t commit gluttony, or was simply unkind! “We all sin everyday.”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You think “the world” doesn’t see that! Also, that’s the main reason why you shouldn’t “preaching” to anyone else. Get your own life straight! Live like you actually believe, what you say you believe.

U don't have to openly confess to a bunch of nosey, gossiping people. When you go to the alter as a sinner or backslider or non believer. Your not asked to openly tell the congregation every mistake you've ever made. He confessed his sins to his wife, family, and the elders of the church and that's enough. Admitting and stepping down is a lot. Telling the entire world will jus make a bunch of memes, gossiping, "I told you so's", "all pastors are fake" talking

I hold the utmost respect for Pastor Tony Evans. When my mom died, I found a year-old video from his church. When his niece's past. Having just lost my mom and not understanding how quickly she passed away. I watched that video and his kids were asking why Dad and how can you be so strong. In a time of sorrow. But Pastor Evans answered. I trust the Lord and his word. That video made my life and pain easier to cope. So God bless him for doing what is right. Stepping away temporarily. As it should be done. If something in his heart is convicting him to do so. Then he is honoring God. Now in saying that. Be careful what you say about a God-ordained Pastor. Understand, the host of this channel. Pastor Evans in over 40 years has not led anyone astray. You speaking ill will of him and gossiping. Can seriously come back to haunt you. Dr. Gray - Dean - instilled thru his teaching, that when preachers get too busy to maintain their daily prayer life, they fail to abide in the vine and then fail. If we don't draw from the power of Jesus Christ daily, then we would fail miserably. Preachers must not over expand their ministerial duties. Consistent daily prayer is the key.

People often asked why doesn't a Pastor get specific or be transparent when they happen to sin or have a mishap in judgment, and the short answer is there are too many immature Christians who would have the pastor's best interest at heart. One has to be wise when one shares his life with others, especially pastors. Not everyone can handle the sin of a pastor, and so that pastor must exercise a great deal of wisdom and maturity when he shares what he is going through, and so with that in mind, my friend since 1988, Dr. Tony has exercised a great deal of wisdom in this very personal situation. Be assured that his family and the board of Elders of OCBF are all aware of the specifics of this story. The rest of us need to be praying, as Dr. Tony is and has always been an honorable and godly man, though obviously not a perfect and sinless man.

Furthermore, some of David's Psalms acknowledge his sin and need for cleansing. For starters, read Psalm 51 in the King James version of the Bible. On top of that, God's Word clearly spells out HIS requirements for various church leaders. If God requires an elder to be OPENLY REBUKED BEFORE ALL (so others may also FEAR) if he is guilty of an accusation (1 Timothy 5:19-20 in the KJV), the same would definitely apply to a pastor.

Him acknowledging that there’s sin should be enough. Him voluntarily stepping down speaks volumes to his character and his reverence for God. People wanting to know what the sin is need to check their motives for wanting to know. If he’s shared those things with someone or someone’s in leadership that can help him find total repentance and healing through this is all that’s needed! If people are wanting to know as to use it as a source of gossip then they need to check themselves! That’s sin!
Not many are willing to give up leadership even if it’s exposed by others. It takes a true man of God to feel they can’t lead God’s people unless they’re walking in the light! We all need to check ourselves and drop the stones!

Scripture does say confess our sins one to another. It does not say our sins have to be confessed to the entire congregation or to the world at large. He has done his confession within the inner circle, more than likely the Elders, and to his family. This is one of the reasons those outside the Christian faith criticize us: because we do not forgive and restore our own. He has followed scripture and is stepping down from leadership to be restored and led. He is not deceptive because he did not cover up that there is a sin in his life that he believes prohibits him from leading and just retire without explanation or lying about why. I pray for him as he bravely lives this decision.

This Scripture does not say to confess your sins to everyone. Not everyone is mature enough to handle matters of the soul and heart. That’s the job of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Tony Evans has humbled himself. No one has the right to pass judgment for we all will appear before the JUDGE of all judges. We can’t throw away 40 years of Scriptural teaching. Whether he practiced what he preached, he will answer to God here on Earth and on judgment day. We all will. Because he is a high profile minister doesn’t mean we get to bash him. This is how they keep themselves from being permanently removed from the ministry as they should be. Wrong - nothing in the Bible says to confess sins openly. It says in James 5:16 - 'Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.' We are to confess our sin(s) to the individual(s) we have sinned against because they are the ones who have the right to forgive us. We also confess to our God whom we know have forgiven us of our past, present and future sins (because Jesus had died for us 'once and for all').

Perhaps it was infidelity, due to his wife's long bout with cancer.
We are all human...and sinners But God, forgives, restores and perfects the man with humility and grace.🙏

The Bible does not say that we must confess our sins openly. That is false. So please fix that. It say confess your 0:30 sin but not openly. Paul never confessed what his thorn in his flesh was. All people want to do is classify, label and compare. He sinned, just like all of us. His left of faith pushed him to step down. Truth is, all pastors need to step down because we all have sinned. Please!!!!

This why so many people dont want to attend church or God, most of these people going on like they perfect. Thank God for Jesus and what he has done for us. Can you imagine how many people will be locked out on that great morning when he returns? What a roll call!! How will you answer???

All have fallen short of the glory of God. It's important for people to understand that pastors are also susceptible to temptation, sin, and the attacks of the devil. He is a good man of GOD we all have sinned… also the word says there’s no condemnation in Christ so may the Lord forgive him and bless him in the name of Jesus Christ.

"Confess your sins one to another", yes. That applies to the church, the body of believers that it applies to. It does not say, "Have a hundred thousand people that have no idea of the situation weigh in on what they think."

He already confessed to those head needed to. It is our job as fellow believers to lift Dr Evan’s and family in prayer. Remember gossiping is a sin. So what lift him up in prayer. Imagine if JP miller had taken steps to repent his wife Mica might still be with us.
