Cheers Barry, you are the premier sim racing hardware reviewer on the website, excellent production quality and in depth information as always. Thankyou.
Wow, I was literally just on their website, and was curious if you had done a review yet. And here you are, reviewing the shifter. Must be a sign of some sort. Thanks as always, Barry! Your reviews are amazing.
Yes, noticeable on the bench. Not so much when running in the rig. Could probably use some grease to quite it down. Something synthetic so not to harm the PTEG.
Been looking at these and after seeing this I think I'd give the shifter a miss but pick up the handbrake. Be interesting to know how the Pikes Shifter fares vs the Aiologs shifter
@@DavidGarcia-oi5nt I split the difference, got the aiologs sequential and 3DRap akina handbrake. And I agree, the only draw backs to Aiologs is the stupid batch system, the fact that shipping takes forever. Took 5 months from the point of ordering to actually receive it
I think the issue is less and less people are using H-pattern driven cars in both real life and sim racing. All the millennials only want to drive GT3 🤣
Also, almost every sim will let you drive H-pattern vehicles with a sequential, but not the other way around. Trust me, I’m totally on your side with this argument (hell, I modified my G29 setup to be H-pattern only at this point), but it’d have to be an effort on all fronts to make H-patterns popular again, same as with real cars.
I keep hoping that Heusinkveld will release their “H” shifter at some point I know Niels said for us to not get our hopes up for a release any time soon but he still runs one on his rig I’m wondering if he’s using this as “test time” so see how reliable it is before considering it for release 🤔
i am looking for a shifter and need one that is as silent as posible or at least less noisy than the paddles on my t300. any suggestions? could some grease added to moving parts in the pikes shifter help silencing the spring and other noises it makes?
Where do you het extra profile from? I ordered my rig from Simlabs, but i dont want to have to pay for over seas shipping again plus wait over a month for a few pieces of profile.
I fast forwarded to the hand brake which looks great. Does anyone know if this is compatible with a PS4. I want a hand brake that works with both this and PC.
3Drap has now made both the Akina and Pikes compatible with ps4/5 and Xbox. But it can’t be connected directly to console. Needs to be ran through wheelbase
We would like to be your neighbors to come and play in your garage ❤️ Really nice work as always 🤜🤛 Bellissimo progetto 3DRAP. GIà dalle foto su instagram sembravano fatti benissimo, ora che sono stati analizzati da Barry ne abbiamo la certezza. Mancherebbe giusto il parere di qualche mangia spaghetti come noi hehehe B)
Handbrake looks okay, but the Chinese made USB handbrakes are better and cheaper. The shifter seems pretty terrible, weak and too long a throw. A better alternative is the DimSim Seq shifter. So not impressed with these at all, appreciate the detailed review.
hey ! was looking for a shifter. does it mount on the next lvl dd stand you think ? or need to mod ? hesitaitng between this or the fanatec shifter to have Hpattern at the same time. cant decide ! i only rally
hahahahahahaha, is that soooooo wrong --- that as soon as I saw the word "shifter" in the Sim Racing Garage Title - I looked for your name in the comments ;P ;P ;P
@@SingleRacerSVR Hahaha, yeah I can smell shifters miles away!😂 I don't have anything against 3D printed stuff though, was really happy with my SHH for many years, just thought it was weird mixing the rough 3D printing with otherwise polished products.
hi SRG love the videos just wondering you you could do a vid on how to make an osw system as there are basically no tutorials which explain how to do it thanks
Yeah there are definitely better ones on the market. I got the 3drap handbrake and prefer it over the Fanatec I've been using for a few years now but there are some other really nice handbrakes on the market if you want to spend a little more no question.
You are absolutely the Bob Ross of sim racing. Love the channel.

I just keep watching SimRacingGarage to see how long Barry's beautiful hair gets!
Fantastic work as always SRG.
Barry, did you find that the shifter is kind of noisy? In your closer look, it sounded like it was almost squeaky when you shifted.
Yes, noticeable on the bench. Not so much when running in the rig. Could probably use some grease to quite it down. Something synthetic so not to harm the PTEG.
@@simracinggarage3026 Ah OK... thanks for the reply. This is good to know. Cheers.

Was wondering the same thing. How does the shifter feel compared to the Aiologs?
The aiologs would be better by a long shot but they're also more expensive and once you add in shipping from Russia...

Even though I have a Pro Sim H pattern shifter on preorder, sim racing needs more H Pattern shifters to choose from. Not sequentials.

I agree with you mate!
And yes @Rover Boy, crossing my fingers we will get the Heusinkveld out on the market at some point!
R-VR Closet I have some for you. I’ll send you an email.
Haven't even finished, Barry! But liked it anyways!
As always, excellent content Barry! would you mind sharing at what resolution you’re running your ROG triple-screen setup in AC? Many Thanks!
Looking for the same answer. Wish Barry could do a review of the PG279 monitors in different simracing titles.
love these reviews barry. gotta say- first looks - it looks like a toaster
Hey Barry! Please could you do a review of the OBP eSports Pro-race V2 pedal set?
i really like your work dude

I'm working on it...
Don't think any console works with a stand alone handbrake, you gotta route them through your wheelbase

I'd say that this would be hard to mount
Aiologs all the way.
👍
Why is there a witch on my screen
this handbrake or fanatec
fanatec without thinking. 3d rap is meh
Akina Handbrake or Thrustmaster TSS?
Deyum i was fast :)
A bit weird seeing a so polished shifter and handbrake, but still with 3D printed parts on them.. .😕

Initial D Handbrake.
Man, the plastic parts finish look like crap. Hope it's a prototype.
