    Congratulations! I'm also in the class of 2020, and have made a video about ucla. Hopefully, we are able to have a normal freshman experience... :((

    Your high school life sounds exhausting. The only AP class i took in high school was physics and I got a D because i never did homework and showed up a half hour late every day. I graduated with a 3.0, and went to community college for 3 years and worked my butt off to get over a 3.9 and just got accepted to transfer to UCLA for engineering.

    Very Helpful! I am planning on going to UCLA next year! And the last essay question about our big skill. I said “public speaking/communication” and then you said “public speaking” I thought you read my mind lol! Maybe if I get accepted to UCLA next year I will see you on campus

    Congratulations! You did a great job with your academics and your extracurriculars! My name is Andres by the way, it is pleasure to meet you! I really enjoyed watching your video. Your video is very helpful to me. I will be earning my AA degree from a 2-year college this coming May. During the summer, I will train in acting. Then, I will be working on my BA degree in Broadcast Journalism. I am also working on my two books. That is I am feeling passion about. Also, my dream career is to be an actor and journalist in the future. Good luck with everything you do! God bless you and your family! 🙏❤️

    Hi! Thanks for the vid :) When you were filling out your app, did you put every extracurricular that you did, or just the ones you spent most time with? I have a lot of activities too, but am torn between putting them all or not

    • @HtetYuya
      @HtetYuya  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello! There was a space limit for how many extracurriculars we could put down so I chose the ones I was most proud of, not necessarily the ones i spent most time on, but the ones i was proud of were also ones i did for a couple years. I hope this helps! 😊😊

      Helen Yuya ok cool! Thanks so much because I didn’t know how many to include. I also have awards and other stuff to add so it got confusing haha. Just one quick question, do you have an estimate of how many activities and awards you put? I’m applying and don’t want to take up unnecessary space 😂

    • @HtetYuya
      @HtetYuya  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're applying via Common App, there are spaces to put your Activity 1, 2, etc. Same goes for the UC schools! They will give you spaces to fill out each activity!

    My dad said I can only get into UCLA if I get a full ride....How do I do that? I heard that they only use that to lure students in....what do I need to do to get that?
    Edit: My grades isn't all A's and B's...rn i have like 1-2 C

      UCLA doesn't give a lot of scholarships because it is a public school.
      Grades (esp. now during the pandemic) aren't everything, make sure you have really strong essays that communicate who you are as a person, and try not to do every extracurricular possible. do ones that you're interested in, and that you can really succeed in.

      Full rides are very hard to achieve and Public schools don’t give out a lot of full rides. You have to get scholarships if you can prove you are not able to pay the full tuition. I recommend you try and start something over the pandemic(like a business or project) to impress colleges. Ive seen many people get full rides to Drexel in Philadelphia though

    when you were in highschool did you have a job, if so what year of high school did you start working? I’m an incoming freshman and i plan on working at a local tennis shop once i get my working papers. What is your opinion on working as a teen?

    • @HtetYuya
      @HtetYuya  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not have a job throughout high school. I did have internships, but they were unpaid. I did them mostly for the experience of it. I think having a job as a teen is a really good way to gain lots of experience and skills outside of school, and if you believe you can balance your time, I say go for it!
