Hi Colleen! Glad you like this home - it's a beauty! Our videos will be over an hour long if we go into those details and you guys will all be very bored with us, lol! Hi Karen 👋🏼 TWO days?! That’s amazing!!! Thank you 🥰 Please keep us updated on how your trip and property search go!! Safe travels - enjoy every moment ❤️🇮🇹✨
My wife and I have been to Italy twice 3 weeks each time. We stumbled upon you, and we love your videos! You guys are informative and make us laugh. I'm glad you added golf courses. I've noticed churches have not been mentioned lately. Catholic Church information is important to us and we like that info. If you could find if they have Catholic churches in English in the towns where you find the holmes, that would be even better, my Italian is that of a child's at this time. Hiiiii Tom👋🏼… Tomasso and Salia, love it!!👌🏼 Thank you so much for your kind words - it means a lot to us🥰 Okay, we are bringing back churches just for you guys!! We will try to find out about English speaking too, that part is a bit trickier. It seems like English is more prominent in northern Italy, and in the smaller towns it’s a mixed bag. We are working on our Italian too - our grandparents mainly taught us bad words🫣 Appreciate the blessings! Sending the same blessings to you and your family💗 Hope you are having a fantastic weekend✨
These affordable properties are so pretty I'd love to be able to live there or the beautiful Southern French towns bur Italy ones so rustic and beautiful and cosy in so many fantastic locations but it'd be impossible to move there from aus
Hiiii Wattle 👋🏼 We are in the States and home prices are out of control! It is quite eye opening to see the pricing on a lot of the properties overseas. What an amazing property!! Thank you for sharing such a dreamy house in such a beautiful location. And thank you for entertaining us & making us smile - as always 😍😍
Hiiii Cheryl!!! Thank YOU🥰 We agree, this property is soooo dreamy. We’d be out at that pool all day, everyday. So happy you visited Umbria with us - we appreciate you. Hope your Sunday is the best✨😘
Astounding property actually. My only concern is the well and septic, maintenance and testing of ground water or type of well. Otherwise, way cool. You could surely always have someone do yard / pool maintenance, hopefully!! Maybe someone to come in monthly to clean. Perfect!
We agreeeee😍 Great points!! We are in a lot of expat groups and we see comments about caretakers and such that pop in to take care of the home/property when you aren’t there. So, hopefully there would be folks with those skills available in the area. Thanks for visiting Umbria with us❤️✨
I Love the homes you feature. I have the same check list...I Love the Historic aspect of these older buildings. Can you make any recommendations for a good realtor?
Hi Marelee!!👋🏼 Thanks so much!! So, you have good taste too!? 😆 Depending on the region you’re interested in, we can offer some recommendations. Feel free to email us with more specifics: wanderingwithwine@gmail.com. Hope you’re having a great week✨❤️
I know this one! That pool area is absolutely gorgeous. Kind of a funky layout for the second bedroom and bathroom. It would be interesting to know what the plans are for the ruins around it.
Hi Lauri!!!👋🏼 Right?!… so dreamy😍 It is an different kind of layout but it would great for guests or possibly an AirBnB, if permitted. Hopefully, the ruins stay untouched or are brought back to life. The history here is just unbelievable, “Unbelievable Medieval” to quote B😉 Thanks for joining us in Umbria. Have a fantastic day❤️✨
Love that you showed where Paris is in relation to this property. I mean if you’re going wander with wine, I believe wandering to Paris for some wine is a distinct possibility. ❤
You are great and provide transparent information, great. Is this the entire house or do neighbors live next to the house? Possibility to renovate the ruins for B&B use? Big hug, Luc
Thank you for your kind words, Luc🥰 The last we heard, no one else lives on the property, but that could’ve changed. Renovating the ruins, if permitted, would be amazing😍 It’s a really special property, for sure!! Thank you for joining us in❤️✨
Thank you for the video of this property. I'm a real estate agent. What is the average monthly utility/power expense/cost? What are the property taxes and other Italian associated fees for this property and home?
Hi OG 👋🏼 We aren’t real estate agents, we are searching for a home in Italy. We scour the listings for properties that meet our wants, research the area and then share our findings. If you’d like to send us an email wanderingwithwine@gmail.com we can send you the agent’s contact information. Thanks for joining us in Umbria!✨🇮🇹
Love this property. I do have one question on veterans access to health care. I know aviano afb is north Italy so there’s that. Is heathcare affordable there in case Italy does’t accept medicare and Tricare.
Hi Michele!! So glad you like the property ☺️ Believe Italy passed an amendment for 2024 that lets foreigners participate in their healthcare system for $2,000 per year - then there are some different situations for residents and citizens and public vs private healthcare. Let us dig into that some more and get back to you. Thank you for your service 🇺🇸❤️
Hi Wayne!! Haha… yep! We are fine with minor renovations or maybe a bathroom/kitchen update/reno as long as it’s still habitable. We don’t have the stomach for a full renovation… we want something move-in-ready with Italian charm, value for the money, views, terrace… not too much to ask for, right?!🤣🤪 Lately, it’s been pretty tough to find properties that meet our needs, but the search continues!! Thanks for stopping by!! ✨🇮🇹
I know this one! I've looked at it since originally posted by Nick Ferrand. I like it a lot, except I want to walk to town. It's a great place!!! Just how far to the town from the house?? What town are you showing?
Hi Wendy!!👋🏼 We were surprised to come across it on one of the aggregate sites. You can’t see a property history like you can in the states. So, not sure if it’s been on/off for a couple of years, but it’s had some big price reductions. None of the listings provide the address. If we can’t get the address from the listing, or the agent, we always use the center of town (from whatever the listing reflects) as a guide. Lisciano Niccone is where the listing says the property is located but it doesn’t appear to be in town and we know that’s one of your preferences☺️ Hope this helps!! Thanks for stopping by to join us✨❤️
FYI for everyone out there that inland Italy is in the heaviest earthquake zone. Paradise does have some detractors. I would definitely see if in the remodeling it was retrofitted for earthquake specifications. Dreams can come tumbling down! I'd check the frequency of tremors and quakes in that area for sure. Other than that, it's a grand place.
Hiiii Eric👋🏼 You’re absolutely right. The seismic activity throughout Italy should be a consideration for anyone thinking about a move. We don’t live in an earthquake prone area but we have family in California and it’s just “accepted.” One of our friends has family in L’Aquila, where earthquakes are so common, and it’s a way of life. We’d be interested in knowing if a home has been inspected, reinforced, etc. As always, we appreciate your input!! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend✨
I thought I'd already added this but looks like it didn't happen. Useful map showing earthquake history in Italy. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/db/Map_of_earthquakes_in_Italy_1900-2017.png
Here from southern california, planning to move to beautiful italy ( most likely to montepulciano) tuscany. on the other hand i can see umbria is also beautiful. You guys have good eye for the type of properties I like ( rustic, stone houses, farms ) I dont want to buy anything that would look even close to properties in the us! I want a house with character. Now if i can find a " cave" that would be even better! 😂. I have a question regarding this property; is the pool only for the use of whoever buys this house ? Or is it shared with other houses in the hamlet? Keep up the good job guys ! ❤❤
@@anaanastasoglou9498 Hi Ana!! Sorry we missed your message. A few subscribers have brought up Montepulciano lately! Sounds like we are on the same page as far as property type. We want to feel like we are in Italy, not the states. Haha… did you see that house in Piedmont that we featured a few months back? Definitely has some cave vibes but so gorgeous: th-cam.com/video/q1_VWjk7nDM/w-d-xo.html Per the listing, the pool is exclusive for this property. We love this place!! Thank you🥰 Grateful you choose to join us!
Not on heavy duty drugs today so I will try and be coherent 😂I love this house and as always love you two and your videos. My Italian phrase this week in deference to Moxie and Zoe is Hai dei cane bellissimi. It means you have two beautiful dogs❤❤❤
Hi Janice!!! How is your ankle doing?? Hope you’re not in a lot of pain🙏🏻 As always, thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement 🥰 Awwwww… we love those little divas 🐶 🐶 As always, we appreciate you joining us 💗💗💗
That’s astonishingly lovely, I‘m baffled that it hasn’t sold yet. 200,000 euros is obviously a great price for that property. I‘m wondering what the catch might be: perhaps swimming pools are actually a negative feature for some potential buyers because they’re so expensive to run. Perhaps it technically counts as part of the village, but is far enough from the centre of town to be impractical. And I know you included the part of the listing that confirms the pool is private to the property, but Italian real estate listings can be tricksy: if the borgo is being referred to as a single property, even though it has multiple units, then the pool might indeed be shared with other owners. Like I said, I‘m just trying to find the catch. Remember that Italian real estate listings often translate independente case as detached houses, but it really only means you have your own entrance or front door.
Hi Liz!! Nice to hear from you… did you see your shoutouts a few videos back when you asked for Celsius?😊 Unless something changed from when the property was first listed, the pool is private for this home only. Thanks for stopping by!! ✨🇮🇹
@@wanderingwithwine I did, and thanks! I’ve been busy lately so I’ve had to catch up with a few weeks all at once - and then we were in Italy last week, in Abruzzo, round the corner from where Rino is based. What a gorgeous region! And such great food, unsurprisingly. Gave us real food for thought about buying a property, as it were. Right now I’m looking up background info on the seismic risk in different parts of Italy. For me right now that’s more important than a lot of other factors.
@@Bearleena YOU WERE?!?! How exciting!! Abruzzo looks so dreamy, we haven’t been yet, but we plan on visiting during our next trip. Especially because my family is from the region. Yes, seismic activity should be a consideration. From our understanding, L’Aquila is quite prone to earthquakes. Definitely something to research. Appreciate you popping in to catch up with us🥰❤️
From our understanding, there is one neighbor. The ruins aren’t part of the purchase but the agent probably has more details they can share. Below is the agent's contact information. sales@ipncastello.com +39 075 857 9025 The home was originally listed for $300k a year or so ago and it's had a couple of price drops since. Hi Jaime and Biaggio. . . my husband and I are new to your channel and we are so in love with this channel, we immediately subscribed!!! We have found a diamond in the ruff for sure! . . We have watched most of your videos, binge watching last weekend, so we are caught up for this Friday (date night) with you guys. I also connected with you guys on your FB wall too. We do have a few questions for you guys, but what is the best way to communicate with you, email, etc.? We are a married couple living in the Midwest, US. Our dream is to retire and move to ITALY where we want to spend out "golden years," enjoy Italian vino, vineyards, and views, while living in a charming Italian town/village preferably in the Tuscany region. Both of us are so excited that we've already started our planning and coordinating our plans. And then we found your TH-cam channel, subscribed immediately. It will be exciting to see where the four of us end up, province or region in Italy. Salute for now! T&D :)😍😍
Question - per the listing this is a portion of a house. Isn't the pool shared with everyone else in the borgo? Does the unit actually have any private land? I didn't see it mentioned in the listing.
Hi Nikki!!!👋🏼 After we found this property, we saw that there are a couple of versions of the listing floating around. The pool and fenced in land surrounding the pool are part of this property. "Across the track is a high stone wall with a gate, from which steps lead up to the garden area and swimming pool which is exclusive to the property. This is elevated and affords a view of the house as well as fabulous views southwards across the narrow valley, even taking in a slice of nearby Lake Trasimeno. The pool area has ample seating spots and shade, as well as tables and a BBQ area." Hope this helps! Have a great weekend✨

Thanks so much, ALSVC🥰 Haha… wandering with wine in Paris sounds absolutely delightful🍷✨ Appreciate you joining us for the fun❤️❤️❤️
Thanks!
Hiiiii Dan!👋🏼 Thank YOU for joining us and for your generosity🥰❤️
Beautiful home! Love this !
Thanks so much for visiting with us, Sonya!! Glad you like this one as much as we do🥰
Sam the butcher on the "Brady Bunch". Great property!
YES!! Nice work, Sam the butcher!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you🥰 We appreciate you stopping by to visit with us✨
You are great and provide transparent information, great.
It hadn't struck me until you mentioned it. you guys only do houses that can be lived in right now. Just what i'm looking for.
Hi Wayne!!
Thanks for stopping by to join us✨❤️
Of course, we need to consider that it hasn’t sold because the bathroom bafflingly doesn’t have a cute bidet. For some people that’s a deal breaker.
🤣🤣🤣 that MUST be it!!!
Nice research
Glad you think so☺️ Thanks for stopping by!!🇮🇹
FYI for everyone out there that inland Italy is in the heaviest earthquake zone.
@@angelomarcon7744 thanks for sharing, Angelo!! As always, we appreciate input from our W3 community!!✨🇮🇹
Definitely has some cave vibes but so gorgeous: th-cam.com/video/q1_VWjk7nDM/w-d-xo.html
Per the listing, the pool is exclusive for this property.
Appreciate you popping in to catch up with us🥰❤️
I love old map. You have one behind. Can show to us. Best regards.
Hiiii Alain!!! Which map? We’d be more than happy to share anything with you, just let us know ☺️❤️
Grazie da Texas come sempre ❤
Thanks for joining us, Katerina!!! 💗
Are there neighbors in the hamlet? Are the ruins also yours to redo?
From our understanding, there is one neighbor. The ruins aren’t part of the purchase but the agent probably has more details they can share. Below is the agent's contact information.

Please let us know how we can communicate with you guys going forward. Tom & Deb (T&D) 😍😍

And have you guys thought of setting up as house hunters once you’re in Italy? I think you have a talent for this.
Haha… we haven’t, but maybe it’s something we can consider! Thank you🥰❤️
Question - per the listing this is a portion of a house.
We were wondering this too. Especially after seeing prices for other properties in the area.
@@tmink1 Hiiii!! Totally get it! We were surprised to see it on the market after a couple of big price reductions. Hope the snippet above from one of the listings helps☺️
