Your video was very helpful, thank you. Before watching it I struggled without success to change my bulb. What helped me mostly was getting the idea to use a mirror and removing the spring clip first. In the Toyota handbook it tells you to unplug the electrical connection first but it is definitely much easier if you remove the spring clip first. I decided to 'practice' by putting the old bulb back and removing it again before I installed the new bulb. When fitting the new bulb I would recommend putting the bulb into the headlamp and at the same time look through the headlamp lens to see what you are doing and to make sure you are aligning it properly. Then fit the spring clip which obviously holds the bulb nice and secure. Then plug in the electrical connector. After you have done it once it definitely becomes much easier and no longer a job I would dread. I did notice though that my spring clip is a different design to yours, although the principal of unclipping it is the same. Not sure if the left side headlamp is more difficult or less difficult. I shall cross that bridge when I come to it. Thank you so much for the help.
The side light lamp is a beast to change. This procedure illustrates why thousands of drivers drive around with bulbs out; car manufacturers are simply not interested in making it easy to change ANY car bulb.....solution?....employ somebody who knows what they're doing to design proper car bulb changing.
Hi Peter when I changed right side headlight bulb on o2 corolla it seems to be abit lower than left side when in the dark i noticed it, and help appreciated.👍
Thanks for the video, man. I think changing this is absurd and innecesarly difficult... Something concerning security as front lights, should be much more easy to do for most people.
Many thanks Peter. Checked out 4 other videos on the subject first, but your video was definitely the one that I needed. Clear, concise and not rushed. Great job!
Hello Mr Peter and thank you very much for your so helpful videos, amazing job!! I am trying to change the front indicator bulbs of this specific corolla 2007 hatchback model, and I can't remove them by simply twisting them counter-clockwise. Could you please give me any tip?Any help is much appreciated!Thank you in advance!
Thanks Peter. I was struggling to put a pin back in place after changing bulb but wanted to do it after making the connection. Watched your video, unplugged the wires, put the pin back in in 2 seconds. Easily done with my skinny fingers :) thanks
Thank you Peter. I think it's a nightmare to replace a bulb in this car... Tried to remove that white box next to it, but i couldn't manage to do it. Well, with this video I finally managed to change the bulb.
I have almost the same car but there is even less space, i can‘t even get a small mirror in there to see what i‘m doing. I can‘t get rhe clip back in. I moved on to practicing some low kicks on the car after spending about two hours on this shit
I've currently got a T Sport Corolla. If you think these are bad the Celica GTS/T Sport from 2001 onwards is an even bigger pain! Less room as well! First bulb took me 45 minutes, second on took 2 minutes. Never again! 😅😂🤣 I just squeezed my hand in though. Some people remove the front bumper and head light units!
Took about an hour to do this task or probably more. Eventually I used my phone camera bag next time will use a mirror like in the video really useful.
after trying for about 45mins i gave up. i managed to get the black cover off, and pressed in the clip at the top so the bulb is loose but cannot separate the clip from the electrical contacts. any suggestions? am i supposed to disconnect the electrical contact before the clip?
Evil Diesel Hello. You need a mirror. And you can separate the electric wire just after black cover is off. Then only pull out the wire. Next you move the metallic clip wire and bulb opens. Good luck. This is little mechanical trick job.
thanks, ill try it again in next few days. its very hard because there is no room. all i can get are 2 chubby fingers. cant even get my thumb to grab. great videos. think ive same car as you!
+Peter Finn I stuck at the same moment as Evil. I cant separate wires from bulb and i cant remove bulb with electric pins like u did because wires are too short.
You need to take a look at some of the other videos for changing the bulb on a Corolla. Their much more concise and much more clear than what you are showing. The whole process shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. And that's on the side with the battery. You don't have to go through all the things you're doing to change the bulb.
Hi, after replacement of this bulb, long light indicator iluminates, but dim. Also long lights operates continuosly but dim, replaced bulb operates also dim. What possible causes of this problem could be?
Hi Peter, how to get access to the Parking bulb. Is there any video for that. I own a similar model but parking bulb burn out and I wanted to replace by my self. Cheers
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor Sorry for the negativity. I had a bad day today trying to switch a lightbulb ending up removing the whole front bumper. But no excuse for ventilating my frustration here. My sincere apologies and thank you for the video which gives us great info for free. You are a good help sir !!!
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor I assume not, but that headlamp replacement made me break the black plastic / connector which holds the red & brown cables. That was before watching this video. I didn't knew how to do or had a clue how to do it. Peter Finn IDK...After they ran a check on it, they reset the check engine light and said as long as the car is driving fine, then there is nothing to do about it. Goes back to my original thought of a government conspiracy to make people keep putting money into cars or buy another one....

I've just tested it on my corolla and it was waaay simpler with your advices. Before that I was pretty close to give up and go to some service station. I've made 2 adjustemts: used smartphone free mirror app and flashlight instead of real mirror and external light. Works pretty well and it's much cheaper. Pliers are helpful too to remove wires.
Hi can we put led h7 that comes with spin fan instead of halogen and my question is does it fit that space under the cover .then if not can we take off the cover and leave it without that plz help
