    love your videos. growing about 10 different peppers, some that you sent me last year. 1 minor complaint: 12:37min long video and only about 15 second at the very end on fertilizing. almost missed it.

    Wrap your buckets with a few turns of bare copper wire to stop the slugs, something about electrolysis repels them

    Glad I found your channel. I just started germinating my hot peppers for the first time, out of frustration in locating them. But I have no experience.
    What are the pvc pipes you have in some buckets for? Watering?
    Thank you.

    • @tinocontreras5105
      @tinocontreras5105 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes those are for watering the roots when you don't have time or go on vacation. another way is to put it in a milk gallon with holes on top so the roots grow into the gallon to drink the rain water it catches in the pvc pipe.

    hey man !!!
    i had success with epsom on my jolokias, which grew tall but no bloom.
    fixed with epsom!
    bought two small chillis (white tail?) in pot from store, weak taste, not many flowers.
    cute ones though
    it seems again epsom fixed that
    i use also guano granular fertilizer.
    i think not need anything else for success, very happy
    please comment

    Do you ever transplant your pepper plants outside? I have some scotch bonnet out growing the pot. One of them started fruiting. The weather is getting nicer in Chicago. Should I attempt to put in the ground or use a bucket like your? Thank you.

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use buckets because I live in Texas and the heat here is brutal in summer. I have to relocate them soon. If your ground area gets good temperature between 75-85, you can leave them in the ground.

    • @boggysnipers
      @boggysnipers 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the information. The ground is still pretty cold here with the air temp at 65-75°. I will have to get some buckets as well. Thanks

    When you cut your hair put it around the base of the plant around the stem. Slugs don't like it.

      Also you could spray the outside of your buckets with salt water from time to time.

    How do you prevent peppers from pollinating each other? I'm scared that I if I would harvest seeds from variety I would get some impure hybrid seeds. I would love to have representative seeds.

    • @MrPelleWiersma
      @MrPelleWiersma 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      After pollinating a flower, tie a plastic bag around your flower to prevent impure pollen to reach the stigma. Khang made a video about this subject, it's called: "How to Breed Peppers - Cross Pollinating to Create a New Variety."

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you asking about hydroponic ph?

    • @robinhardy4599
      @robinhardy4599 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Khang Starr. No,I'm container growing and the water around here runs 7.6 avg.

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My water is 7.6 as well. I never adjust pH to water the plants. If you're concern, use pH down to adjust your water.

    • @robinhardy4599
      @robinhardy4599 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would food grade citric acid be safe enough to use to lower water ph?

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Citric acid is a temporary adjuster, your pH will bounce right back after time.

      You need really good light (Sun), good soil, hot weather (Above 55F nights and above 80F days). And a good fertilizer (Slow release (Organic, bone meal, blood meal)). Don't forget to water them everyday if possible (In ground) or thrice a week (In buckets).
      Hope this helps
