    FUNNY NOTE!!!
    1. This is not covering all Disciplines, just a choice few relevant to proceedings.
We'll cover others in the future.
    2. For chronological purposes and to bring more import towards them, all Audiologs are now counted as Sub-Chapters.
You can read more about this decision on our Patreon (for free).

Hell, he could be one of those few Tremere who just doesn't end up honing the sorcerous side of things. The saddest part is that while he's right that Thaumaturgy is a pale imitation of far greater powers, that imitation is still far beyond anything most anyone will ever be able to wield.
Anyone Embraced into Clan Tremere gains access to Thaumaturgy. Someone Awakening only happens perhaps once in one or ten million? With a population of seven billion, that's only around 700-7000 mortal Magi in the entire world. Even if you make it likelier by an order of magnitude, it's still a tiny amount of Magi.
While yes, anyone can technically learn Linear Magic, or Sorcery, with great effort, it's also true that anyone and everyone can learn Thaumaturgy, all they need is Vitae.

Marckus isn't a mage, not in WoD terms at least (certainly not as of yet). D is aware that Marckus has a tendency to "ends justify the means" dangerous powers. I think this is more about him being afraid Marckus is going to get tempted into ghouldom (ghouls do get some minor discipline powers) or otherwise fall prey to manipulation from the big players in the shadows of the WoD with promises of higher power, without understanding the full consequences.
He *could* of course turn out to be a mage at some point in the future, but no one is a mage until their Awakening, an event that is both absurdly rare and also completely unpredictable. it's not like werewolves where you have probability changes based on lineage. Awakening is not a thing you are destined to do based on raw potential or heritage or something, its a very specific event that can (theoretically) occur in anyone, but requires such a specific conflation of mindset and circumstance that it happens incredibly rarely.
Plus, I can't see D actually *wanting* Marckus to turn out a mage. True magic in WoD has some big time hazards that D would not want to risk Marckus engaging in.

Of all people, Door turned out to be the emotional glue that convinced Markus to step back and disengage, which in turn prevented this argument from becoming an ABSOLUTE F$CKING DISASTER - Which this *wasn't* , believe it or not. No one is happy with this, but they're putting it aside for the time being with the promise to discuss it later, and that's kind of the BEST OUTCOME two people with fundamentally opposing and mutually exclusive viewpoints could come to in a situation with this number of corpses (which is any number at all, really).

And everytime we see Markus gain info on hunting, man goes INSANELY excited and thinks he can guess/know everything from there. Which makes sense, since being in this world from a young age, he's always known more than the average person. Which is why D is especially loathe to share info with him.
Compare and contrast, D has always been happy to share info with Kitten, who's always reacted to more info with an "Oh *god* we know absolutely nothing" and thus handles any knowledge given to him with care and deliberateness.

My biggest thought that D is hesistant to share with Markus is his cockiness. Markus IS brilliant, talented, etc. But that also gives him an ego and thinking he's always a step ahead, and if it does go wrong it's not his fault he was just given bad information.
The stake vest is the perfect example of this. Markus is so confident that he setup this ambush and gambled EVERYTHING on it. That he would coax the vampire into grabbing him, that at least ONE of the stakes would impale his heart and not miss, etc. He was so high on the 'I'm so clever'ness that he managed to stake the vampire more by luck than skill and just played it as 'Everything according to plan.'
Now take that attitude and inform him of the existance of, say, independant ghouls. Say Markus, did you know you can stake vampires and drink their blood to give yourself super powers? Markus would ABSOLUTELY attempt this because he's confident he's clever enough to get around any pitfalls related to it. He's too careful and smart to end up blood bonded, he's too good to allow the vamp to escape, etc.
I feel D recognizes this which is why he gets so defensive anytime Markus shows the slightest interest in the up sides of vampirism, because he's reckless enough to jump straight in without thinking about the consequences believing himself to be able to handle it if anything did arise.

This is a reoccuring theme with Marckus. He can come up with smart, even brilliant ideas, but his recklessness and hubris makes them backfire badly on him. We can also see examples of this in Episode 1, where he basically gambled his entire life on one of the stakes in his stake jacket accidentally stabbing Ape Boy in the heart when he was about to be bitten, and in the Pub Audiologue where he makes the mistake of thinking he has beaten Brok and ends up tipping his hand too early when it came to the drinking contest.

I honestly forgot that Mass Manipulation (the dominate level that lets you influence small groups instead of individuals) is literally a fifth level discipline in V5 (it was even higher originally but all indication has generally been that HtP essentially operates off of the V5 ruleset unless otherwise stated)
Which has some serious implications about Kevin's powerset, namely that he could probably either rewrite entire swathes of memories or implant post-hypnotic suggestions into people's minds if he cared to. It also gives context to the fact that he's basically psychically dominating the entire Norfolk police department. Honestly would probably be pretty terrifying if he wasn't on our side.

In game terms, Kevin might have Dominate level 5, but his sire and the regent likely have all of the Tremere-disciplines (Blood Sorcery, Dominate and Auspex) at level 4-5. It really is tragic that for all of Big D's eloquence, he never quite has the words to just say what he's feeling. That he doesn't want to tell Markus these things because he knows his brilliant baby boy would want to learn more about such knowledge in order to better combat the creatures that utilize them. Not that such an endeavor isn't noble, neigh that what appears to be a line towards progress is deceptively but a crack leading to a mighty crevasse. The things Markus would need to do to learn more would be morally dubious at best, suicidal at worst, and with no conclusive end in sight without antagonizing heights of supernatural power that border on outright divinity. A TREADMILL OF SUFFERING UPON WHICH THAT HE IN HIS MANY YEARS OF SENIORITY IS BUT SEVERAL METERS AHEAD COMPARED TO THE KILOMETERS OF KNOWLEDGE THAT A HUNTER COULD COME UP AGAINST! Worse, though he'd trust the man with his life, he fears the spark of mankind's ingenuity could be too bright for Markus' own good, possibly leading him to consider extreme means if it could achieve extraordinary ends, and consideration is but the idea-seed of action. Big D is trying to use his experience to protect Markus from making mistakes in a profession where a single mistake has caused many to die young and the old to die violently.
At the end of the day he's worried he won't be a good teacher. He's blessed with a prodigy of a child with such a thirst for knowledge that it's perfectly possible that the wisdom will be neglected. Worse, that there might be a day where he would genuinely have to answer "I don't know," and Markus would truly be on his own, without his father's guidance and protection, as a peer or even a superior that he as a father may well be powerless to help should something go terribly, horribly wrong.

What's so scary about this is how much Markus misses the point about what Big D is saying. Big D is making it pretty clear, at least to me, that blood magic is nothing more than a Temu version of real magic and nothing worth having. Yet Markus got from it was that is was like Occum's Celtic Magic. Then when he hears about all the abilities it can provide you and gets even more excited I felt my heart sink. He's getting all the wrong things from what he is being told.
And I get it. His interest is purely academic, the excitement comes from a love of learning, and he doesn't yet understand the full implications of blood magic. But it is disturbing how nonchalant he is about it after hearing so much about Big D's warnings. This isn't like learning about chemistry or physics where they are constrained by the rules of nature. This is powerful dark sorcery. A force far greater than any one man, even if he is a great mage, can ever truly understand. To treat it so casually is asking for trouble.
Even real magic isn't something to be taken lightly; less we get ourselves killed like two monkey's banging rocks together because the sparks they make are pretty and triggering a forest fire.
Given what we know about Markus' impulsivity and flaw about not thinking things through it's no wonder why Big D is afraid to tell him anything. He's smart enough to get himself in trouble; and the trouble that comes with messing with magics can be devastating. The fact he managed to get away from whatever 'Entity' he summoned as a child was miracle; but no one's gets a miracle twice.
Yet, if he doesn't Markus will never learn and will be more likely to fall prey to these evil forces; something he is probably very much aware of.
    It's a real catch-22.

So, just something to keep in mind…
The levels of power Ghouls have access to are dependent on the generation of their master. The Ghouls of Vampires from the 13th-8th generations are limited to a maximum discipline level of 1, which then increases from then on. 7th generation Ghouls (Ghouls of The Regent for example) would have maximum discipline level of 2 to tap into, while 6th generation ones (Ghouls of The Prince themselves) would have level 3 Disciplines to potentially tap into.
Meaning that if this is a Ghoul of The Regent or even The Prince themselves, then the rest of the group is going to be in for a rough time.
Also relevant, is that A: Ghouls are immune to Delirium (meaning that if Spit IS a werewolf, then his transformation wouldn’t affect them like it would others), and B: A Ghoul can ALWAYS potentially tap into the disciplines of Celerity, Fortitude, and Potence, the prior 2 of which aren’t covered in this video (meaning that the Ghoul could also have some level of Superhuman speed and/or durability.)

14:44 SO, to clarify, Kevin’s _minimum_ Discipline Level would have to be 7 to control multiple people. Here’s a list of Dominate powers of that level, pre-V5:
Chain of Command: Should a target be made unable to obey one of your Dominate command the effect will be passed to one who can
Command the Legion/Mass Manipulation: You can use Dominate on small groups at once
Dynastic Power: Control mortal descendants and implant suggestions using just a name or picture of the target
Repression of the Obvious: Learn a thought the target is repressing and make them blurt it out
Still the Mortal Flesh: Shut down the body functions of a target
Strings of the Marionette: Force a vampire to obey your commands even when staked or in torpor
Tyrant's Gaze: Reduce the Attributes of a target with a look
And keep in mind that A: Kevin would still have access to powers from lower levels on top of the above, and B, there’s a chance he’s actually capable of tapping into, or eventually learning to tap into, higher discipline level powers (which is where Dominate can start to be used over longer ranges.)

spit's strong of will though, suprisingly, and has been holding back the beast.
.... the ghoul may have raelized what he was and coaxed the beast out, but could only do so temporarily and so much. spit killed fatigue, but didn't fully transform, which his why his uniform is intact. there is a stage between the human and war form and as loose as his clothes are he'd be able to go to mid form and back withuot destroying his cloths. he managed to regain control.

The ghoul has to either be Spit, one of the staff, or Grimmel based on proximity and their access to areas of the building (air ducts and the security room). The vampire has to have been waiting inside the building waiting for a time to confuse the others, possibly in an effort to gain something inside the building… is it possible that the vault/safe wasn’t empty but already occupied by someone matching or someone?

If you would like, there _is_ another damning theory I can say. I’d say it sounds about right, so though it isn’t confirmed yet, I’m calling it spoilers-using-foreshadowing.

A theory is that Spit (the skinny guy) is actually a werewolf and he just accidentally killed fatague.

_D’ah,_ whatever, someone else said it so I may as well add details.
The first clue is Lord Fatigue’s specialty: “Scholar of Lycanthropy Lore.”
We can gather many things outside of this: Fatigue was a hunter worth his salt, going by word of mouth, he’s charismatic and comforting, like a therapist…and he’s an old man in a business with high casualties, so it’s even less likely he’s here by luck - He has an excellent handle on his skillset.
The second clue is in some of the backgrounds of Episode 4, around places where Spit seems to have been: Scratch marks etched into the wood, most apparent surrounding Spit when he’s freaking out, before being approached by our Lycanthrope expert.
One last clue that isn’t needed, but fits right in with a description offered by Big D during the breakfast episode…
“The Delirium,” a supernatural stress that takes hold of the average person who witnesses one of these primal warriors’ transformations. It can drive one mad, thrust them into desperate, frenzied attacks…
Or something more likely, judging by the screams - overwhelming witnesses with fear alone, absolutely terrified into flight, or just paralysis.
The next mysteries are who would be smart - no, _sapient_ enough to lock some poor sod in a closet before the shindig went down? What could even cause a werewolf to transform, other than a possible botch from Fatigue?
If this scene wasn’t made by mistake…then why?

At some point, Markus is going to learn about Horse and his untoward plans and how Big D's beloved bus transport will be ruined. Markus won't be able to get through on the telephone line and in a panic ingests a little vampire blood to break through the bus's intercom system to warn Big D...ruining the bus via magic short circuit anyway. Big D will be incensed and say if he wants forgiveness Markus will have to delete his contact list on team fortress 2, dropping contact from all his friends and family to focus on only what Big D wants, IE the Hunt and the upcoming fight against Horse. Markus, knowing that his online family is counting on him for an upcoming international game tournament refuses, and the bus seat he is supposed to inherit is something Big D will have to stay on forever as it slowly breaks down.

I love how with the added context of 3.7 you can really notice D fighting back the urge to bring up Anton as evidence for why he doesn't tell Marcus everything, probably because
1.) I'm guessing however Marcus forgot it, prodding that memory in any way would be a bad thing. Even setting aside the idea of lingering trauma, it could possibly attract the attention of whatever power Marcus tapped into. But assuming you either forget that for a second, or you know just telling him he made the situation with Anton worse wouldn't be that dangerous.
2.) Imagine how that would feel as a father. You lost a son on a hunt you brought him on and you were leading. To make things worse, another one of your children, your youngest at the time no less, the most innocent and vulnerable, using something you (unintentionally) gave him access to, tried to save their brother, but only made things worse for everyone. Where before at the very least the Fey seemingly intended on releasing Anton after a term of service, now he might be lost forever, or his time with them could be even worse then it would have already been. Now you're youngest is grown, he's a man now, even if part of you will never be able to accept that. Now you see him, and to you it seems like he's trying to make that same mistake all over again. All the while he's pestering you to open up, to give him more potential means of harming himself and the rest of the family. You know how this went last time, and you know how reminding him of that would hurt him. While part of you recoils from the idea of intentionally hurting your child, you also know how you could use that to beat him back, get him to drop this dangerous subject, even if only for a little bit. Part of you might even say it's for his own good, and for the good of everyone else, it isn't just Marcus who could get hurt if he mishandles this power as seen with Anton. Door, Boy, Kitten, their friends, other members of the family elsewhere. Imagine having that, and the temptation to hurt your own son in that way, even if you would never, imagine what even thinking about it would feel like.

So D wrote a paper on the subject, the lady read it, and now she's recounting it and Kitten's taking notes... The Circle is Complete! :D

This whole video really hightlights just HOW Dangerous Vampires as a whole are to normal humans.
Even a fairly young and inexperienced vamp and easily punch a hole in your chest or be so unaturally fast and your reflexes, no matter how good they are, just can't compete with it.
BUT it also does the opossite where it makes you think "man, if thats just begginer level stuff and older vamps get even crazier powers, then just how fucking badass and savage are the experienced hunters who go after said older vamps", Hunters are in the majority (with very notable exceptions) completly normal people who just happend to know things or have extraordinary skills and good contacts, they hunt shit that can make you're brain explode by just looking at you funny with nothing but brains, planning, improvising and sheer fucking grit.
    TL;DR
Elder Vampires are scarry, but the Hunters that hunt those elders are perhaps even scarier.

"Only if they're enamored with the carpathians" means "Koldunic sorcery can do it, but it's really not well advised because that magic is Tzimisce and may or may not be powered by earthbound demons."
