It's amazing how the Monkey Wrench duo piss off so many dangerous people that they only get out the other side because said dangerous people are tripping over each other to kill them

Shrike's 'I don't think I like myself,' nearly stopped my heart. Also Beebs continues to be the absolute best and deserves a VACATION. A REAL ONE. TO CHILL AND BE HAPPY.
27:50 I love how simply this scene states: Beebs is hauling ass and giving everything he can to protect Shrike and get out of there, and Shrike is literally and metaphorically being carried the whole way. All he has to do is not act on impulse and they have a chance to escape. And then Shrike tries to be a hero LITERALLY BEHIND BEEBS' BACK, which backfires, almost getting them killed. It's the whole show.
that shrike fatal flaw was impulse and bad idea lead him getting broke and no way to repair the bucket and also letting put themself in danger in the worst way possible
Damn I really didn’t understand how deep that sequence actually was, showcasing Beeps not only being the reason Shrike is still kicking but also how Shrike’s impulsive actions ends up causing more harm than good even if the intentions are good in nature
i dont think we're meant to read that deep into that scene. they also did this in episode 1 and its frankly the best escape strategy. with beebs carrying shrike, he can give cover fire to beebs. beebs with his huge body also potentially acts as a fleshy shield to shrike as he fires towards his oponents. i mean, shrikes tactic to shoot the screen also wouldve worked, if his oponent didnt turn into the hulk. its less about showing how shrike is always being caried, but more so about how well they work as a team as beeb always picks shrike up like that so that he has a good line of sight to cover beebs
But think about it THIS way: The sign did, albeit very briefly, stop the big guy, which gave Kara just about enough time to roll up and "save" them. If Shrike wouldn´t have dropped the sign, big guy would´ve gotten to them much quicker...
My favorite part of this is 20:23 It seems like Beebs has probably spent a great deal of time and effort working on himself to manage his anger and not fall back into the toxic, destructive patterns of his culture/family. He's able to be the humble, easygoing, cool-headed, reliable, strong-yet-gentle person we know and love not because of how he was conditioned/raised, but in spite of it, and I think that's really cool. He handles this situation with class in a way few people could. Ajax is haughty, arrogant, and, in spite of his supposed superiority, possessed of a deeply fragile ego. He sees Beebs as inferior because he hasn't learned that it's not your breeding or your class or your size that makes you a man, but your heart, your principles, and your fortitude.
@@sarafontanini7051 i think he was of some help. He seems to be the comunications and spying guy. Teleports gets handcalls superstelthy. He seems to fill a specific role
I love how the background characters and one off characters are literally gorgeous while sanchez and beebs are just some guys. Like I genuinely adore how they immediately stand out because of it.
Watching some shows, there's like an unspoken beauty standard being applied. Like I get it's for appeal but Shrike and Beebs win out anyday for good design.
Love the fact that the censorship can be explained by translators glitching out. At face value, this is all in 1 language for viewer convenience but when you consider the backdrop of an intergalactic civilization, its heavily implied to have translators. A typical beep would have worked for censoring, but its much more in-universe to describe as a screech; a result of the translators every character uses by either not recognizing or by filtering out the swear words by some unspoken convention. Its a wonderful design choice that adds to the world, and speaks volumes to the level of detail put into this.
how can you love something stupid like cencorship? not like those words cant be heard in any household or any other public place, its just ridiculous how this have come and by endorsing it like this its just gonna get worse, please just think yourself for a second if youre not a bot here promoting censoring.
@@AEiOU.official I'd prefer not hearing constant swears either, so if filtering those out is censorship i'm all in. But censorship is not removing insults and swears from public discourse, its preventing the communication of ideas and information.
@@dragon723. it is since you could just leave the text as it is for adults and do another audio line for the beeped one, easy as that. anything else is parenting for parents.
I only realized JB was Joel when he dropped the "Is only jhoke!" Good lord, he's actually really good at voice acting and you guys had very good voice direction too. 'Twere I a millionsaire, I'd fund this for a hundred seasons.
Maybe I watch too much Joey but it was obviously him as soon as the newscaster mentioned Scythelord. I didn't realise it was Vinny until the interrogation bit and suddenly gnorts
Fun Fact: Disco Head (aka D. H.) was the one who set out to assassinate Chester, the original owner of the Thick Chick casino, to own the place for himself. Fun Fact 2: if you look at the wanted posters on Oberon from Episode 1, you see one of “Scythelord” who has the iconic Sweden helmet as a reference to Joel, who ironically was JawBone who is voiced by none other than Vargeskelethor Joel
I really hope it becomes a running gag that every time Kara tries to fight the Monkey Wrench crew, her mask just gets more and more damaged with each encounter.
It's the physical comedy and how we have to interpret her thoughts. Kara's also playing the straight character in a comedy series going from bad ass to exasperated on a dime.
I find very cool the way they defuse all this tension on Kara with comic gimmic situation who stopped her potentially massacre and tilt, it's very clever !
I believe one of the blue guys in episode 2 also hinted at it! He was referring to Puntiagudo when he said something about “must be hard being the last of your species” before it cuts to Shrike.
@@darkvioletcloud i think shrike comented on it too a bit. After that episode i think it might be posible for him to be a genocide surviver. Thou thats far fetched a bit.
It's getting there. Part of the issue is just funding. As it gets more, it gets the episodes out faster, as more episodes get out, the audience gets bigger.
The fact Monkey Wrench’s version of Hyperspace/warp-travel/FTL can have Traffic Jams. That’s such clever writing that it could only work in a cartoon, but unlike most cartoons that would make that kind of joke as a gag, here it’s also to help set up the plot of the episode. Sanchez and Beebs can’t complete their contract so they decide to take a quick detour.
Makes it feel like normally traversing space is off-roading to a destination while using hyperspace is more like a highway for ships. More streamlined and faster, but clearly more busy
@@SAMSeclipselives That's true, I thought that too. Between the fact that they've earned Kara's enmity and that our protagonists are carrying a burden that certain powerful individuals are interested in, it's very easy to think that in this episode these powerful individuals were monitoring them and trying to attract them. What I don't know is if it's a coincidence that the boss of the Beebs house was there too. Was he warned in some way? It seems that he's someone with power too and Monkey Wrench is gaining a certain reputation. Who knows.
It kinda makes sense as well considering that a good chunk of the galaxy has been abandoned. I imagine the rest of the galaxy must be facing an overpopulation problem
Dang, Beebs' home-life must have been rough. That random Walrinian had no direct connection, yet seemed hellbent on judging him and ordering him around.
I honestly love getting a brief glimpse into his background and Shrike's through the dialogue and the body language. Beebs is usually so chill but you can clearly tell that hes either uncomfortable with Ajax or a second away from wanting to punch him which makes you uncomfortable as that is not like Beebs. Ajax in every scene before he gets told no just makes your skin crawl with how much he upsets Beebs. Beebs clearly deserved better then whatever Walrinian society was like for him. From what little we got it seems like he loved his mom but thats probably it (the closest Beebs got to hulking out himself probably was when Ajax mentioned his mom when he tried to walk away).
the fact that he got angry when his parents were insulted suggests that he still cares for them. I don't think it's as simple as his parents hating him for failing to live up to expectations
i love how well the episodes are connecting to eachother. in the first episode in the first scene we saw the owner of thicc shick casino getting murdered, and now we got to see the new owner of the place. we even see the blue squid dude from lythop liberation in the background in one scene. even in the beginning of this episode, Beebs tells shrike that he doesnt scream when he tells him about the good and bad news, but at the end we actually see him rage out a bit at shrike (i'm guessing it has something to do with his species. rages makes them hulk out and he doesnt want to be that kind of person) the writing really is god tier in this series
this episode really felt like a big pay off of stuff from episode one, and going more in depth on the way shrike ruined her whole rep with the tape trip
She seems to want people to know she's the best. I'm not sure if it's pride or just anger and them hurting her reputation. It could also just about her mask being damaged. It seems to be her berserk button.
Oh my god that's so funny. It's such a throw away line but it's master foreshadowing. The cat lady memes that Ricket was trying to use to help Shrike were about Kara. That's fucking gold.
If I had a nickel for every indie animated show that had its fourth episode release this week, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Loved the Episode! 30 minutes is crazy! You and everyone who contributed did an amazing job on this! The story is fun, and the animation and movement is a joy to watch! Can't wait to keep watching the story unravel! Also, invasive species spotted 5:02
Oh cool, wasn't expecting to see another animator I'm subscribed to in the comments. I didn't notice your characters in the background until you pointed it out.
I'ma be hones'- Even tho the Spanish subtitles got quite some gramatical issues- These are *THE BEST* Spanish subtitles I've seen *IN YT* comming from *A FOREIGN SERIES-* And Shrike's pronunciation's been almost *PERFECT* since the very chapter 1- And his accent's been *NAILED ON-* I bow to ya efforts, amigos míos 🇪🇸
to be fair, ONLY the loss of all their money was shrike's fault the theft of the cargo was unrelated and would've happened regardless since neither of them were guarding the ship, unaware of the greater conspiracy surrounding it
11:34 I love how you can see through Beebs smile where his tusks might’ve been cut off at some point, honestly this just makes me wonder more on his backstory for future episodes and makes me have so much more thought about what every species really is in the show especially Shrike since he’s species is always classified as unknown, which is probably going to be a sizeable reveal in the future, though also still wondering what Beebs was going through and exactly why he decided to get his tusks removed and leave his home planet Also tbh I just also wonder what the other Walrinian guy was doing at a casino
Based in how freaked out he looked when Ajax grabbed his cyborg arm I'm thinking he might've lost it in a fight with other Walrinians. He's small for his species and comes from a high ranking house. Strength and Power seem like an important part of his species so I can see him getting harassed often. Maybe it all became too much (like them insulting his mother) and he got angry, leading into a fight, possibly lossing both his tusk and arm in the process. Just a theory tho
@ lost or at least severely damaged it which made him want to get a prosthetic. And I don’t think he would’ve lost his tusks in said fight, it’s likely but I much more see him also just getting them removed perhaps after said hypothetical fight, and I feel like it’s mainly a move to distance himself from his past more than anything, because with the bugs in the repair shop “mistaking” him for one and he actually being one but he didn’t correct them makes me think so, so it’s either he just generally wants to distance himself from his past or he’s ashamed of his past and that hypothetical fight, sorry if it’s not very coherent I just woke up a couple minutes ago, but it’s fun to speculate especially since I never had the chance to really before
The glorious return of Kara was awesome and nothing could stop her except for her biggest fan Tyneen. This episode was fantastic, great job to the entire Monkey wrench team.
30:52 "I know you mean well. You think you're trying. But @#$%!" You didn't have to come all the way out to my place of business just to slap me with this real heavy shit.
You'd think I'd get used to it eventually, but having 30 minutes of a tv-quality animated show completely free on demand on TH-cam will always be surreal to me.
This show always inspires me that things can be made without a big studio or some benefactor. Just people making something they love. Gold points and brownie stars all around! 10/10
Yes sir! I’m inspired from this show to do art not for a big studio or corporation but just because I love to, something I’m passionate about. That is probably the greatest ingredient for making art honestly.
@ANR_Dragon I'm just saying. Because some people are just absolute knobs that spoil things like this that people have been waiting for for months. But I'm glad you ain't one of them!
ohhh my god the fight scenes were so well animated, and i love the way beebs's species was introduced, i never would have thought he had walrus like teeth, and the transformation based off anger entirely makes sense as to why we never see him get angry! all of this is so incredibly well written, i can never get enough!!! i look forward to seeing much much more in the future
Man, that part at the end with Shrike explaining why he lost all their money, I kinda see myself in him. Not the gambling stuff, but wanting to do something dumb on impulse and not being able to really say anything to make it better afterwards just really hits. I've done that a lot, and Beebs following with that exasperated "SH*T" afterwards dredged up a few unpleasant memories. I love Shrike and Beebs dynamic, it feels so real and complex, and it just keeps getting better with each new episode.
I love how the game Jawbone borrowed was Bloodborne. At 18:27 the saw cleaver and gun are in the cover, also the second boss being called "Papa gasoline"
Oh my god thats brilliant. And thats now officially how I will call Gascoigne because I dont want to sound like Im trying to pronounce the name of a french cuisine.
I am Mexican and I must congratulate the voice actor of Shrike, because it doesn't matter if you speak and understand another language well, pronunciation Will be a big obstacle, something I don't see here, thank you for this awesome series ❤☺️🇲🇽
That does make me wonder. They did mention that Shrike is a “Terran” despite him being alien. I’d assume he grew up on earth that speaks Spanish or at least a space colony near earth that does. Could open up some interesting theories about him being raised by humans that spoke Spanish in their household
@@ragemonster4277Back in episode 1, they said that Shrike is basically a Human Culture Weeb. He probably learned Spanish because he thought that was what all humans spoke before going extinct.
@ wait humans are extinct? I’ve seen the early art of Monkey Wrench and it had human characters in it. Isn’t it actually like Star Trek where it’s in the future and aliens are all interconnected now?
@@ragemonster4277 well, near extinction, is what I presume. we saw posters of humans being wanted in episode one, thats if the posters arent older than the last human known alive.
Don't let the doubters and haters get you down, this slapped, HARD. Monkey Wrench is rapidly becoming something special. It just took four episodes for your vision to start to shine through, Zeurel. Now that more pieces are on the board, so to speak. That cliffhanger was dirty, damn it.
Im glad this ep confirms that beebs eyes changing their color to red in ep 3 is a normal thing for his species, i was so afraid he got infected by what was in the crate or the spores from "them" that got on his nose. If anything bad happens to my fav man i am going to die :(
The lore drop here is humongous, apparently the walrinians are a very stratified society where societal standing is all and breaches of etiquette can make you fall hard. I guess Beebs got into a really hard fight after one too many insults from his superiors, lost his tusks and arm, and he's running ever since.
i think beebs might had broken his own tusks,i get the feeling he hates being a walrinian but if that is also the case that makes beebs lore even darker, can't wait to know more about his backstory specialy about his mother
I’m amazed by the team’s commitment for this to be fully animated, considering the issues with funding and low viewership. Excellent job to all involved. Hope the best for all involved with this project and anything else they’re working on.
Can I just say, as always you guys knocked this outta the park? This show OOZES passion, and everyone on the art team, the voice cast, the soundtrack, and ofc all the creators included for whatever reason, from cameos, guest animation sequences, to full-on main roles, and the little nods and references to their communities, this entire thing is just so RAD. I've been a fan of Vinny and Joel for years, and they absolutely killed both their roles here. Another cool thing about including so many talented people from across the web, is they may get to showcase talents they otherwise would not often get to. You all are awesome, and Monkey Wrench, from the setting, character writing and design, and just the overall build-up of the over-arching story and hints towards character's backstories, it's all just an absolute masterpiece, and a testament to the quality and passion, as well as potential of indie animation as a whole. Thank you for your amazing work!
Leave it to people with passion to make their own animation and knock it out of the park with the directing, art and voice acting. The soulless dopes of Hollywood and the Film Industry are too deep into their investors pants to understand what it means to make a quality product. This is truly wonderful stuff, I need to get in on the funding for more episodes.
Ok, so I knew Jaw Bone was Joel. That role was practically made for him. (I suppose it was, technically.) But I had to re-watch this to realize that Vinny was Armstrong. That was mid-way between his normal voice and his Mario Super Show impression. That was incredible. Also, OF COURSE, Vinny is a gray alien. Gnorts would be proud. ALSO, I JUST REALIZED! ARMSTRONG. NEIL ARMSTRONG. GNORTS MR ALIEN. THIS HAS SO MANY LAYERS THAT' IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. Ok, it's actually really funny. These get better and better with each episode.
THE NAME. IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE And I didn't even realize he voiced the Red until he showed himself as a grey alien, thats some really good voice acting from Vinny
RIP zeurel for animating most of this ep. But no seriously, you and everyone did amazing! Loved all the extra cameo's in this! (loved hearing Joel as Jawbone) And I was laughing my butt off at the JB and Tyneen bit.
The fight scene around 28:50 was MASTERFUL, keeping the music just low enough to let the audience appreciate subtle noises like the swinging of the hammer, beating of feet, the sci-fi crackle of energy.
Honestly i gotta thank you so much for creating this series, it's been a while since i got attached to a cyberspace series back in time when Final Space got deleted from Netflix
Saw the premiere. Im in love with this show and the team. The characters are so uniquely dynamic and dont rely on typical character tropes you see. I love the details in the bar scene, where [Flame skull guy]'s spoon changes color frome the heat of the flame. I especially love how Joshua is transparent about the cost per episodes at the end. I think more indie animations productions should do this.
Shrike The Endling and Beebs The Aberrant? This episode was informative to say the least. Last episode showed a great earnestness. This one gave a little glimpse behind the curtains at what makes this well oiled machine click. My highlight is their last encounter with Kara. My girl's very image conscious. The moment that flawless assassin persona gets chipped, all posturing is gone and the Monkey Wrench was nearly unmanned. Thank goodness for Tyneen's executive adoration. Since we're heading into the forbidden zone, I am itching to see what sorta world lurks in its bounds. We got an introduction to the Machinations occurring in Monkey Wrench. Now, it's the turn of the wild and abstract. Forces beyond. Maybe abit Anthropology too.
@jtlego1 A Chaos God, a hole in the universe, and probably so much more that speculation is yet to give any answers or hypothesis. It's gonna be interesting to find what the nature of The Cataclysm was and how the QZ grows from being another sci-fi, space disaster to its own distinct and dark phenomena. It's gotta take some impressive world-building to pull it off.
@@toxicbavariankittenbasically every one-off background character in every patreon show ever (think Helluva Boss) does this, whales come around and fund extra money in exchange of inserting their out-of-place OC/fursona in the background. It brings the bread on the table at least.
@@TrintellixLeGaulois To be fair, the main cast is already pretty wacky. Someones sona in the background ain't that out of place in this setting! Besides, I'm more focused on the plot anyway.
I remember you said you were going to cut back on the animation to be more "animatics" like the behind-the-scenes, but god damn. This looks just as stellar as the rest of the episodes! Absolutely worth the wait!
Says in the description that he didn't like the result and crunched for 3-4 _months_ to flesh out the animation himself, which is insane. Financially support this man.
"Only I may tease her." And that's how a ship is born. One sentence and it gives so much characterization to them. They might have a pretty chill vibe, but he just said that to his boss of all people.
Really hoping this takes off as well as other indie animation projects. So much heart and soul put in here! So much effort! The quality is incredible. Deserves all the love!
Man I love the way female characters are written in this show. SO often female villains/antagonists are reduced to sex appeal but Tyneen is brash and powerful while Kara is cold and intimidating; BUT most importantly they're both still cartoon-y and silly in a way that many writers don't let women be. It's great to see. Love this series and I am SOOOOO intrigued by Beebs' backstory.
i think its kinda funny how Kara is set up to be a knight of cerebus but often is pulled into comedic shenangians, and at this point to her utter disdain tyneen hopefully gets to keep her spleen after this
Ok, so we have a pair of MASSIVE lore drops to work out with here: - *We have more info into the species Beebs belongs to, the Walrinians.* They seem to be infamous across the galaxy, maybe not as much as the Terrans/humans have been painted as, but enough to rise discomfort every time they're mentioned (like with Ricket and the Weevil engineer). Their society appears to work in a house system, of various royal/noble families (hinted by Ajax's regal leitmotif whenever he's on screen), which may or may not commit atrocious acts in order to maintain their power and statues, thus explaining their infamous nature. That, and the Hulk-style frenzy they go on when agravare, show by Ajax just for being tapped by Beeps and signified by his sclerotic becoming red. Seems that our friend Beebs has been trying to control that wrath from ever coming out in himself, but is now starting to slip up due to Shriek's mistake. In fact, he seems adamant in distancing himself from anything related to the Walrinian race, guided by his seemingly cut off tusks (although his smaller size might be more of a genetic mutation, give the "aberrant" adjective he's referred to)... and he seems specially triggered by the mention of his mother, almost making him lose control TWICE in the episode. It seem that his distancing from "home" was not smooth in the slightest... - *We have a new clue on The Cataclysm.* At least, what caused it in the first place. Jaw Bone makes a passing mention on the Terrans and "That False Idol of theirs might of blown the galaxy to shiiii-heck!". It seems that the catalyst of the incident has a religious origin to it, rather than a scientific one like i had speculated with episode 3... or at least, it ended turning out like that. Maybe we are dealing with a Doom 2016 situation here, where a space corporation found a mysterious object and started studying it, only for it's strange properties to twist the scientists into fanatic followers of the idol before it inevitably blown up in their faces. Whatever that thing is, is highly corruptive and infectious to the point of deeming a good portion of the galaxy inhospitable by any species, to the point of creating creatures such as the ghostly fungus from the previous episode. And i might be throwing shots at the dark with this... but i have the sneaking suspicion that the "False Idol" is the bounty our protagonists have been carrying around since episode 2. It spews a green smoke when it's container is open, and it would make sense for L.A.W. to try to secure it as soon as possible give how adamant they are at blocking of the quarantine zone away from society. Lastly, someone going by Dolion wants the package as soon as possible, so they might become the main antagonist by the end of season 1. (if we haven't already met them yet and i haven't realized, correct me if so. 😅) Side note, but Ajax stole the episode for me. The sheer contrast between his initial formal mannerisms and the savagery displayed later on is so captivating, and his musical leitmotif slaps!
We also have some weird info about shrike and whatever species he is He's an endling, so he's the last of his kind (this was hinted at in episode two) We get yet another instance of someone not being able to figure out what species he is, which may turn out to be a big reveal later And he has some weird physiological (is that the right word? Physiological) features. Namely his blue blood, which is rare in real life with only a few invertebrates like horseshoe crabs and octopi having it. It also looks like he has stretching powers in the scene with kara where she's about to kill him. There's some weird stuff going on with his legs when he kicks kara and I think it's gonna come up later in the series Overall many lores and many drops this episode, this only strengthens my monkey wrench hyperfixation.
This show is genuinely amazing. Not only is it made from good story telling and animation, but you can tell there is GENUINE PASSION behind it. This is probably my favorite indie animation on TH-cam.
Surprisingly, I relate to Sanchez' self loathing from the perspective of suffering manic depression. It's always entirely out of my control when I lose control of myself, and it devastates me how it harms both me and the people I care about. I don't have much of a bright side to share, but uh, therapy's good.
Definitely, I think her and shrike is going to develop an unhealthy relationship of Kara being obsessed with killing shrike to get her reputation back on board 😂@TylerGoodman-c2v
Watching this again, 14:29 “they ain’t putting me under the knife” I love how this show delivers lore. To me this sounds like the reason Strike doesn’t want to take his suit off despite not liking people thinking he’s a cop is cause the suit is surgically attached to him. L.A.W sounds pretty awful
Gotta find an alternative in that case. Hmmm...him in an astronaut spacesuit feels evocative. In the setting they're in it'd be like pulling up in plate armor.
Most of his suit is removable, but he wears the red underwear and gray neck piece all the time. The neck piece in particular looks surgically attached...
I like to theorize it's also implying Shrike use to be a L.a.w officer himself but grew tired of being bossed and left yet tbe suit still held some sentimental value

wild that Queen Tyneen was giving the advice to cut off Shrike when most of her crew are totally incompetent
To be fair, she likely sees most of her crew as underlings, not equals.
yeah i dont think none of her minions has nearly as much word on what they do like Shrike to Beebs
To be fair, I think that is intentionally ironic.
Granted, it's completely in character for somebody who throws her crew members into space for stating an opinion.
I freakin' love Tyneen. I hope we see her consistently throughout the show.
27:50 I love how simply this scene states:
Beebs is hauling ass and giving everything he can to protect Shrike and get out of there, and Shrike is literally and metaphorically being carried the whole way.
Damn, I knew this show went deep, but I didn't even think of this scene. I was distracted by the cool visuals and the music lmao
i dont think we're meant to read that deep into that scene. they also did this in episode 1 and its frankly the best escape strategy. with beebs carrying shrike, he can give cover fire to beebs. beebs with his huge body also potentially acts as a fleshy shield to shrike as he fires towards his oponents. i mean, shrikes tactic to shoot the screen also wouldve worked, if his oponent didnt turn into the hulk. its less about showing how shrike is always being caried, but more so about how well they work as a team as beeb always picks shrike up like that so that he has a good line of sight to cover beebs
But think about it THIS way:
The sign did, albeit very briefly, stop the big guy, which gave Kara just about enough time to roll up and "save" them. If Shrike wouldn´t have dropped the sign, big guy would´ve gotten to them much quicker...
Ricket is the best character NO QUESTION "don't say slurs shrike" "guys stop fighting you`re upsetting Ricket... WHICH IS ME"
I totally agree. Kinda sucks that his voice actor changed. But I don't mind that. 👍
He is baby and must be protected.

It seems like Beebs has probably spent a great deal of time and effort working on himself to manage his anger and not fall back into the toxic, destructive patterns of his culture/family.

Yeah. It's not only implied but outright stated that everyone uses translators (in ep 2, I think?)
how can you love something stupid like cencorship? not like those words cant be heard in any household or any other public place, its just ridiculous how this have come and by endorsing it like this its just gonna get worse, please just think yourself for a second if youre not a bot here promoting censoring.

It also seems to have been organized to lure monkey wrench to the casino
Walrinian society must be very interconnected, considering this individual apparently seemed bothered that he couldn't immediately identify Beebs.
@@AlmightyDoubleHelix It definitely feels more like it was wider Walrinian society that despised him for being a Deviant.

She seems to want people to know she's the best. I'm not sure if it's pride or just anger and them hurting her reputation. It could also just about her mask being damaged. It seems to be her berserk button.

11:34 I love how you can see through Beebs smile where his tusks might’ve been cut off at some point, honestly this just makes me wonder more on his backstory for future episodes and makes me have so much more thought about what every species really is in the show especially Shrike since he’s species is always classified as unknown, which is probably going to be a sizeable reveal in the future, though also still wondering what Beebs was going through and exactly why he decided to get his tusks removed and leave his home planet
Also tbh I just also wonder what the other Walrinian guy was doing at a casino

I love the details in the bar scene, where [Flame skull guy]'s spoon changes color frome the heat of the flame.
I especially love how Joshua is transparent about the cost per episodes at the end. I think more indie animations productions should do this.
Flame skull guy = Ricket
i love how the gold works with the usual boue and pink color thats always in this shoe
“I said I was sorry!”
“No you didn’t!”
“Well, I should’ve!”
“I agree!!!”
I love their chemistry. Some of the best out there.
"Good!"
"GOOD!"
*"GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!"*
This moment i just love.
"Gotcha hueso verdi!"
26:15 "OH! I'm so sorry!" Amazing set up and delivery! 🤣
He thought they were f**king 😅
D.H did say Shrike was on the books for a private dance, so he might’ve thought Kara was one of those dancers.
Bro he thought it was some kind of kinky thing and immediately tries Cover his eyes, but soon realizing Shrike was in this situation
" I dont miss twice" well ya did with the slot machines
Finish him!
LET'S GO GAMBLING!
*gets depression*
IT WAS WORTH THE DEPRESSION

I keep rolling around that "False Idol" remark from Jaw Bone.
Did the Terrans pull a Warhammer and accidentally (or purposefully) created a god?
@jtlego1 A Chaos God, a hole in the universe, and probably so much more that speculation is yet to give any answers or hypothesis.
It's gonna be interesting to find what the nature of The Cataclysm was and how the QZ grows from being another sci-fi, space disaster to its own distinct and dark phenomena. It's gotta take some impressive world-building to pull it off.
My favorite part of monkey wrench is when someone’s fursona shows up
(who? I'm curious :3)
Can you say it in a way that narrows it down more
I assume they're just referring to background characters
@@toxicbavariankittenbasically every one-off background character in every patreon show ever (think Helluva Boss) does this, whales come around and fund extra money in exchange of inserting their out-of-place OC/fursona in the background.
It brings the bread on the table at least.
@@TrintellixLeGaulois To be fair, the main cast is already pretty wacky. Someones sona in the background ain't that out of place in this setting! Besides, I'm more focused on the plot anyway.
Wow, Kara is really not catching a break since the tape incident. She still scary tho.
Also, i am LOVING the captions
24:00 Love the "I fear no man" meme sneaking in there
I remember you said you were going to cut back on the animation to be more "animatics" like the behind-the-scenes, but god damn. This looks just as stellar as the rest of the episodes! Absolutely worth the wait!
Says in the description that he didn't like the result and crunched for 3-4 _months_ to flesh out the animation himself, which is insane. Financially support this man.
@@AjaxGb I have a Stylus extension that removes descriptions. :P
@@No_Sleepee Oh sure, just trying to inform-- no judgement intended.
i will admit i miss the old turn around when ajax said" mistakes are best left behind after all" the final one doesn't feel the same
WE’RE SO BACK
MINIMOOSE
Memes have outlived humanity and I am glad that is part of our legacy in this show’s canon.
16:00 “don’t say slurs, strike! >:(“ LMAO
Watching doobusses segment reminded me why i love him
They really were the perfect fit for that part.
"Only I may tease her."
And that's how a ship is born. One sentence and it gives so much characterization to them. They might have a pretty chill vibe, but he just said that to his boss of all people.
at what moment was this said? please tell me

@@IanPendleton-gh6ox thank you!
Really hoping this takes off as well as other indie animation projects. So much heart and soul put in here! So much effort! The quality is incredible. Deserves all the love!
This looks amazing! hopefully now that we have the disco tumbler-sexy-man this series can get the attraction it deserves.
That’s so true. Tumblr sexy-man sell like hotpockets for some reason…
I mean...we too have the latex(?) wearing killer cat...
@@johnnyschmith6002 Especially with that latex suit cat
Shrike is MY Tumblr sexy man, since day one. :3
I think the shadow guy would do the trick too.
I like my women with personality
well said!
And we still get cute female minor/background characters too
i think its kinda funny how Kara is set up to be a knight of cerebus but often is pulled into comedic shenangians, and at this point to her utter disdain
tyneen hopefully gets to keep her spleen after this
I need a girl like Tyneen so bad
Tyneen and jaw bone being gamer bros is just perfect.
They got basiclly the same energy just with different flavours.
Slightly different.
* Gamer girl and bro
I'm pretty sure they both pirate games tho
Ok, so we have a pair of MASSIVE lore drops to work out with here:
- *We have more info into the species Beebs belongs to, the Walrinians.* They seem to be infamous across the galaxy, maybe not as much as the Terrans/humans have been painted as, but enough to rise discomfort every time they're mentioned (like with Ricket and the Weevil engineer).
Side note, but Ajax stole the episode for me. The sheer contrast between his initial formal mannerisms and the savagery displayed later on is so captivating, and his musical leitmotif slaps!
We also have some weird info about shrike and whatever species he is
He's an endling, so he's the last of his kind (this was hinted at in episode two)
We get yet another instance of someone not being able to figure out what species he is, which may turn out to be a big reveal later
And he has some weird physiological (is that the right word? Physiological) features. Namely his blue blood, which is rare in real life with only a few invertebrates like horseshoe crabs and octopi having it. It also looks like he has stretching powers in the scene with kara where she's about to kill him. There's some weird stuff going on with his legs when he kicks kara and I think it's gonna come up later in the series
Overall many lores and many drops this episode, this only strengthens my monkey wrench hyperfixation.
I like how Ricket's spoon changed color due to it heating up in the fire.
Yeah, and they even gave it the actual tempering colors of steel. That's some real attention to detail right there.
This show is genuinely amazing. Not only is it made from good story telling and animation, but you can tell there is GENUINE PASSION behind it. This is probably my favorite indie animation on TH-cam.
This show drips with character and a passion for the craft. This isn’t just a breath of fresh air this is a gust with gusto.
This should be right up there in views with Digital Circus & Helluva Boss.
The animation quality, the voice acting, the writing, all of it is amazing.
Surprisingly, I relate to Sanchez' self loathing from the perspective of suffering manic depression. It's always entirely out of my control when I lose control of myself, and it devastates me how it harms both me and the people I care about.
I don't have much of a bright side to share, but uh, therapy's good.
I love the little hidden text in the caption 28:36 “oooh she ain’t happy”
Captions being done with fun and whimsy elevate everything and anything.
you think she very pissed for ruin her reputation because of a tape
