This is the kind of stuff that got me watching your videos, and how folks learn about machining and machine work. Super job. I really learned something. Merry Christmas. ;-)
Bond lock If I remember correct was the only thread sealant that you could use with Hydraulic Oil, Loctite would not cure if there was hydraulic oil on the fittings, you has to clean them off with Varsol. We always asked someone who was going to the UK to bring us some back as we could not buy it over here. Fortunatly there are some thread sealants over here that work as well, plus my hydraulic repair days are now long past.
My partner loves a nice bit of drilling and a good reaming she cant get enough it's a hard days night and I should be sleeping like dog🤣 jokes aside great instructional video thanks keith you really do light up my life thanks all the best keith.
The Stirling Single series is well on the way, but unless you are a Patreon subscriber, my videos that are public on TH-cam are over 4 Months behind the ones for my Patreon Supporters www.patreon.com/keithappleton
Hi Keith, Merry Christmas! Thanks for all the videos this year, I'm just getting started in model engineering and they've been a huge help. I was wondering, if you were going to outfit a new shop, where would you start with purchasing drills? There are a ton of recommendations online as far as imperial drills in 1/64" increments, metric in 0.1mm, number drills, letter drills. It seems like it could be quite an investment to get all of them. I am mostly wanting to be able to tap BA threads for Stuart engine builds, so could I get by with just a single drill set to start?

Interesting. Grinding on the side of the wheel with a home grinder? How do you dress it?
with a dresser tool.
If I may ask what happened to the sterling single? I love the channel.

Can i use a hand reamer in lathe?
Yes, but don't forget to get past the tapered part.

Start with a full set of Imperial Drills, and a full set of Metric ones.
@@keithappleton Thank's Keith!
Thanks. Your first part of the reamer use sounded like a sex manual ;-)
