Cancer Alley Louisiana: The 'Mother of All Sinkholes'

  • Cancer Alley, a stretch of about 100 miles between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, is home to some 150 petrochemical plants, making these swamplands perhaps the most industrialized (and polluted) region in the United States. The latest plague ravaging Cancer Alley is that enormous sinkhole in Assumption Parish, a burgeoning cavity that is a pestilence both real and symbolic, relentlessly swallowing land while reminding residents of the despoliation the past 60 years have inflicted on their sinuous bayous and fulsome cypress groves. As Bayou Corne's citizens abandon their homes, fleeing the specters of methane and vandals and depressed home values, they stand to become yet another Louisiana community sacrificed to the twin gods of oil and gas.

While sinkholes may be a concern, it is crucial to shift our focus towards the more pressing issue of contaminated groundwater. Rather than fixating on the possibility of sinkholes, we should direct our attention to the fact that people have been consuming and bathing in polluted groundwater for the past ten years. It is important to note that sinkholes do not appear suddenly; the visible manifestations on the surface are a result of a gradual formation process that takes years to develop underground.

Man made *accidental damage, then they wonder why natural fresh water supplies get tainted and become unfit for use.
Follow the $, when company CEO’s start being held personally responsible for these *accidents, they might think before they destroy lives of people around them.
    It’s a disgrace.

It is real sad to see these folks so disappointed.. I looked at this area on goole earth. It looks like the swampy spill way of the Mississippi River. I'll bet it is beautiful. But I would never buy land in such an area. even if there had never been ANY sink holes. It looks like the kind o area that could flood or sink of shift at any time. This country is only about 250 years old. So this area is due for problems it seems. I think living there might always be a risk. No matter what.

They should get more money besides for this company just to buy their homes from them. I think it would only be fair to pay for their homes 🏠 plus giving each home owner a million dollars. Even a million dollars will not cover one of those homes owners if they develop cancer.

bet there are several local officials that got some real good ( unaccounted for ) bank accounts....probably in some family members name. This just didn't get started recently , think about all those civic minded donations to the community from the chemical plants.....all them ultra high dollar jobs that seemed to go to certain local families , cousins ect. ...good old local boys ......i used to deliver chemicals down there once every 10 days or so from Sauget Il. / St. louis chemical plants . Used to park by that little casino / dump . Gotta say most of the people i meant down there were the best you would wanta meet . So sorry for what has happened....puts me in the mind of agent orange that we guys had to deal with ( still are ) in the nam . Don't trust nobody any more , specially them local officials you got down there . Respect to the good people , you know who you are , and you know who ain't !

I got real nervous and scared, but my friend stayed calm. I thought it was odd that he didn't get scared, then it hit me: That wasn't a sink hole.... my friend had White Castle for lunch. #BuyEmByTheSack

Three theories or forces dominate or control upon the planet of the earth...
Firt: The forces or the theory that dominates upon the atmosphere is the end of the first theory of climate change and global warming (dynamic horizontal movement)...
The occurrence of storms, rains, snow, and floods at times, and in unexpected places ,because of the end of the this theory, which needs to balance...
Second:The force or theory that dominates upon earthquakes, sinkholes, cracks on earth , volcanic eruptions, dry lakes and rivers, flow of sweet water from the side of dead sea,the formation of new islands, or hills and mountains, and collapse of mountains, & , & ,&...
These phenomenons because of the end of the second theory of climate change and global warming(dynamic vertical movement)...
This theory becames out of control or balance...
Third: The water is revolving or orbiting the earth...
Note 1:The earth has a new orbit...
Note 2:The earth has tilted 2 degrees...
These studies had completed and sent on 26th July 2000...
