Riddler is cool, finally getting his time to shine, Joker is great but gotten so much spotlight, we need more love for Batman Villians. I'm looking forward to it
I like that this is a year 2 Batman. He's still really young and obviously emotionally still damaged. He's still carrying a lot of rage and torment. Add the fact that you're adding a formidable villain like the Riddler, who can get in your head is going to bump that up a notch. I've heard rumors that this Batman is going to be more brutal and vicious than most (as hinted at by the TKO scene), and I really think that's going to be because the Riddler is pushing and pushing that anger, PLUS, Batman is still working to learn control. All in all, I think RPatz is going to crush this role.

Also, Matt Reeves, the director, said that this film was supposed to be like a true Noir detective story where he's trying to find out Clues and trying to find out the location of the Riddler as he completes all of his schemes and masterminding from within the shadows. There is also rumors as to the court of owls possibly showing up in this trilogy.

I already love this movie and I haven't even seen it.

In the lead up to the trailer matt reeves talked alot about Bruce discovering the level of corruption in Gotham and how his family is involved. I'm thinking he'll eventually touch on the court of owls storyline.

I'm gonna be 100% honest here: I was hating a little on Pattinson being Batman, so I didn't have too much interest in the movie but the trailer changed my mind. It looks good, gritty and serious. I think of it this way. DC is going the Graphic Novel route where there are "else world" stories leaning into DC's own multiverse triggered by Flash in Flashpoint. So the The Joker and all the other movies are storylines created by Flashpoint and the main Justice League (Batfleck) Universe.
This is all based off the Batman Year One, Long Halloween and Dark Victory story. Dont be shocked if it's the romans youngest son are the route of all of it
Appreciate you guys bringing up the story behind Robert Pattinson being cast for the movie. A lot of people are only seeing this movie as an emo Batman movie cuz of a Twilight actor taking on the main role. We need to get past those movies. Seriously 🤪
They cut the cheese and again went to a relatable, grounded hero. Batman doesn’t have a superpower, so like the Joker, they work best in a more complex universe.
If you want to watch something on the same gothic atmosphere and beautiful melodrama watch Reeves film Let Me In (remake of the swedish film) he's teaming up with the Cinematographer and composer from that one for The Batman
Oh and just an fyi regarding the batsuit the material used to create the bat symbol on the suit was the material from the gun that killed Bruce Wayne's parents.
Actually it might be related to Joker with Joaquin Phoenix! My guess is that was Joker or (clown) enthusiast, who had been inspired by Joker, like the ones at the end of the movie. And that will be one our hidden Gem in the Batman movie. For maybe the next one.
I rewatched batman returns n at the scene where Bruce rips his cowl off to reveal who he is to Selina, he has the black eyeliner on then it cuts to catwomen.then when it cuts back to batman hes wearing the cowl with no eye makeup anymore..so it was this 3 secs b4 he rips off the mask where u see his skin color without the black, so when he rips the cowl off his face is clean.. its the most jarring scene editing ever..after I saw it it brought back my memories as a lil kid thinking "why are his eyeholes so big to where I can see his skin tone".. Btw as a kid I never put 2 n 2 together that he wears eye makeup. Thats why I thought they cut the eye holes too big lol..u can look up the scene on TH-cam.
Hey guys ,first time watching you,you mentioned how people criticized Robert Pattinson and made me think of the late 80's which I know none of you were alive then and the casting of Micheal Keaton , my thoughts, a comedic actor, Beetlejuice, .Mr Mom, you got to be joking and his casting caused a controversy among comic book fans, with 50,000 protest letters sent to Warner Bros. offices anyway I was pleasantly surprised he was a great Bruce and a really good Batman.so with I guess a lot of clinically acclaimed roles he might give Christian Bale a run for his money who knows.

Riddler will not be the main villain. The Court of Owls will be. The Court of Owls are the group of wealthy elites of Gotham who really control the city. Bruce's father will probably have been a member before his death. Riddler is just a side character killing those involved with the Court. I hope the main villain is Owl man who is pretty much the evil version of batman.

DC is aiming to make the movies stand-alone but connected via the Multi-verse.
They only shot 1/4 of the movie so far but with this trailer everybody knows it's going to be bad ass when it is ready.
