    There is a calmness about your work that translates to video. I am enjoying the build immensely. One small pick up : the grey wire that goes to the gun switch is actually the brake handle for steering on the ground. Rudder input determines which wheel the air goes to. I think it would be aluminium, so the colour is right.

      Thank you John I really appreciate that. One of the goals of my builds. And also thank you for that clarification on the wire. I figured it was a switch wire. Thanks for watching and the feedback. Cheers

    John, what you mention as the grey wire is actually the pneumatic brake lever, it connects to a steel cable on the front of the control column. and runs down to the brake control valve mounted between the rudder pedals, which also connects to it so that the pilot can brake one wheel or both, to give him steering on the ground by what's called differential braking. The guns were actually fired pneumatically the pipework coming up the front of the control column. Like the wire on the control grip, love the detail you have in the cockpit.

    Regarding RAF pilot seatbelts in 1:24th-scale, an affable British chap named Nigel (Nigels Model Bench) recently used a set comprising thin strips of a fine, soft cloth that folded perfectly as fabric, and photo-etched buckles, that you might prefer. He can tell you where to enquire.

    I have this kit on preorder from Hornby's in the UK. Looked at many sites in US and couldn't find it. So, playing the waiting game. I have been following along on Nigel's build. He gave you a call out on his last vid and now I subscribed to your channel. I always look for OCD modelers as they always produce the best results. 🙂 Just kidding, are the Dr. in MD that works for Uncle Sam? Hoping you have a good holiday season. Cheers.

      I appreciate you watching buddy, that's where I ordered mine direct from Hornby. Same was not available here at the time. It came within a week but mail time right now is abysmal. Nigel is so awesome and I appreciate the sub. I binge all his stuff except the Spit builds, although I cheated and watched one to see what he did in a part. Yeah that's my day job, I'm here in Frederick. Have a great week

    • @Ryker06
      @Ryker06 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnalecsscalemodeling Well, when I ordered, it was listed as pre-order...i.e. none in stock. In addition to slow mail, Airfix is having to produce more of the kits to fill the backlogged requests. It's great that you're not closely following Nigel's build - as you are another YT scale model channel. This way we have at least two good and perhaps, differing perspectives on how to tackle the kit. Hopefully, you get a reprieve from the frigid temps soon.
