Mann’s Model Moments built this and he did one of the most beautiful jobs I’ve ever seen and the fact that he built it right out of the box with no after market parts is an incredible testament to the amazing work y’all did designing and produce this incredible kit! Amazing work to everyone at Airfix!!!
I wish Airfix would do a re-tool of their Battle of Britain Mk1a Spitfire. This is the Mk that the Spitfire legend was born. The tooling they have of this one is over 50 years old and very dated. It is an iconic British aircraft in an iconic British battle and it deserves a modern tooling that reflects this.
Love it! I Rember when Chris was interviewed when he made the Hellcat. He said he hoped he wouldn't be doing another 1/24 scale model. I guess someone twisted his arm a little. What a great engineer.
Excellent work, I have a 3d printer and would love to have an hour with him so I could learn to use the basics of cad, his work, or should I say their work is most appreciated, I love these behind the scenes videos, and I'm happy to see the brand returning to the UK 🇬🇧 😀 where it belongs.
Surely it's best to produce where it's the most cost effective for buyers and staff? In times like these with spiralling costs is it not prudent to make the hobby as accessible as possible to as wide an audience as possible?
Designing a new Airfix Spit is as important / nerve-wracking as designing a new 911, new Fender Strat, or new Eames Chair. Important cultural icons are hard, and only the best designers can do it as well as Airfix! Congratulations!!!
I have recently bought the new 1/24 mk viii spitfire. What a kit! Just build it and enjoy it, you won't be disappointed 😃 Unless of course you're a rivet counter 😂 Come on airfix, what about a 1/24 sepecat jaguar? 🤔👍
Today, It has become obvious, this Kit has been acclaimed by Hobbyists. The popularity of this AIRFIX success is now well known. I have read glowing reviews and viewed builds on TH-cam which testify to this excellent kit. AIRFIX should be justly proud of this model which again sets new standards for the company and its fightback to become a leader in model kits. I have this kit and all the hype is justified.

Thank you all at AIRFIX for this interesting insight when approaching and planning a new subject.
what a talented and friendly and humble team. it looks like airfix's greatest ever kit to date. world class.
Thank you gentlemen for bringing us such a wonderful model.
Brilliant work....Thank you chaps...Great interviews too

Excellent video, the passion certainly shows through.
What cool job to have! Looking forward to building this one.
Fascinating to see the process behind the kit.
Makes you want to work at airfix! Nice project

@@paultaylor7287 It's a false economy (and certainly not environmentally friendly) to make stuff overseas just because it may be initially cheaper.
A great kit, will start building mine soon
Arrived today, looking forward to the build.
Well done Airfix, I can't wait to get my hands on one.👏
amazing watch, cant wait till i get mine
Beautiful kit just a great job
Well Done 👍🇬🇧

I can assure you even just looking at it in the background this kit is better than the first Airfix offering lol, that thing was rough.
Hope they do a Seafire 46 47! Or one that can carry Grey Nurse markings! Grey Nurse with Sharks teeth are coolest Spitfires of the lot.
Ich wünschte, Airfix würde sich mal trauen eine Fw190 D-9 in 1:24 rauszubringen.
But why did you do the exhausts like you did?
Good evening. But are there also parts for the Mk IXE or "only" for the MkIXC? Thank you.
I wish it to be manufacured in greater numbers, so that it reaches every corner of the world.
We can make as many as there is demand for! :)
Sadly it is out of stock at my local modeling shop :(
Everybody's talking about this kit
Just out of intrest what CAD software did you use ?
They were using Creo Parametric.
Luke had a couple of books on his desk - I recognise 'Spitfire The History' but what was the one he was reading?
Looked like Monforton's Spitfire IX & XVI Engineered
@@blockheadgreen_ Ah thanks, I have that one. I'll have to look back at the vid and see why I didn't recognise it. Do you only build Spitfires?!
please more of these
Oh... just just great.. Next is Corsair...? Will be? If it is right, then I wll buy 20 sets
Back o' the net!
Hi airfix, I recently made a channel called spruces and glues. It is all about modelling.
Sorry guys you are boring. Just show us your model longer… It looks great..!!…🤗
An under represented kit? Well there's the Vickers Viking/Valetta/Varsity... ignored forever by the major kit producers.
Handsome guy but desperately needs some beauty sleep!
