- Fly fishing for the wild brown trout of the River Exe is out, rain and cold weather has stopped that. So I went to Wimbleball to hopefully fill the freezer with some rainbow trout and maybe to do a bit of catch and release. Despite the cold, I was even able to use a dry fly!

As a newby, I learnt a lot from that one: line / fly / tactic. That is always helpful, thanks for sharing.

Nice to see you having fun!
It was an awesome day. Great to be there, it’s a beautiful place. Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing - it is good to fight a fish on the reel once in awhile ( I fish very small streams for small native brookies most of the time)
It’s nice to have a fish pulling back and they taste great!! Thanks for watching Mark 👍
well done my friend
I appreciate that 👍
I’m fishing there two days at the end of the month. Beautiful lake.
It’s a stunning place with hard fighting trout. I love it. Thanks for watching 🙏
We’ve been doing a weekend trip there for over 20 years. Can’t wait. 😛
Going to have to give the lake a go. I’m primarily a dry fly angler and fish Colliford for the browns so to see the bows munching drys was good.

sorry Colliford
They fight really well and when they take a dry fly they are very aggressive! Thanks for watching
