I believe Furiosa actually draws from much of the backstory of the Mad Max video game. Gastown is a primary location in that game and Dementus is mentioned in a side quest where you find his grave and get his chariot
I think that George, despite not liking the video game, also is smart enough to take the bits he liked about it to use in his new movies. The guy clearly loves his baby and isn't afraid to criticize people who do it wrong, and also praise those who do it right.
actually the game stole a lot of george's ideas before he had fully finished them, which included story beats from fury road and Furiosa. he stopped working with Warner but they went ahead and used his ideas for fury road and furiosa without his permission anyway. i absolutely love the game but saying george was inspired by it is the wrong way around
I absolutely LOVED Mad Max the video game! I had such a blast finding all these creepy locations under the dunes, oh and the sound design for every explosion, lightning storm, and every ignition was simply orgasmic🥵👌
@@_just_zxck_1797 Didn't say it was inspired, I said it draws from it. A focus on Gastown and using an existing character and scenario in lore was definitely a choice from what was depicted in the video game. Dementus' chariot design also comes directly from it

I haven’t seen the first movie, but dude Furiosa is the definition of dope, the amount of pain that she went through as a kid, and grown up, all those obstacles, everything about it was amazing.
It's very different from Fury Road, a lot more CG, and some of it quite apparent. I still enjoyed getting to see more of that world, and would give it an equal score for different reasons. Just don't go in expecting something as kinetic as Fury Road.
Mad Max is a series that I'd say has no misses. The original trilogy (yes even Thunderdome) is amazing, and these new movies Fury Road, and Furiousa, are just fucking perfection.
I always click on TH-cam around the same time every day and it’s always around 15-30 minutes after Charlie has posted everytime early in the day and late at night aswell. It’s amazing.
I thought it was incredible. I didn't think the level of action Fury Road hit could be topped but even though the scenes don't go on as long they're utterly out of control. It def made me think of the first 2 mad maxes more, like the violence was more cruel and it felt more grindhousey. Some scenes are totally harrowing but holy shit the pacing overall was spot on, audio design was off the map and Anya and Chris were both perfection. Totally agree Hemsworth seemed like he was having the time of his life :D
You've pretty much hit the nail on the head about how amazing the film is. It managed to stay true to the original Mad Max vibes with its world building, practical effects, and action sequences, but also introduced compelling characters and a deeper story.
Please go see furiosa in theatres. I'm desperate to see a fury road sequel and with the current box office take, that looks increasingly unlikely. It's great spread the word
I talked about this with my little cousin, and he said, "Spongebob movie good?" I died. 🤣 Edit; he said this because at easter/april fools, I convinced him that there was a new spongebob movie coming out two weeks later. He still thinks its in theaters 😂
Am I crazy for saying it's more enjoyable than Fury Road? I found Dementus to be a far more compelling main villain that Joe, and Anya's Furiosa has far more character development/growth while in MMFR she is sort of "on a mission." I think the action setpieces in FR were better, but appreciated the character dynamics more in this one
Yeah I kinda agree. I feel like this movie was more tightly written. Set pieces were great of course but Fury Road had better overall. Narrative wise Furiosa just feels more polished
In retrospect, Fury Road really is just a huge coda for Furiosa. I'd almost view it as Furiosa chapter 6. Would make a great back to back double feature.
Man I loved Chris in this movie. He played such an expressive character, like he made his character feel more alive than I've seen a villain be in a while.
Hate it when people say fury road has no depth Here's a short diatribe:- fury road is genuinely one of the best stories of all time. Max loses his humanity and is reduced to a single instinct of survival. You see him like an animal while he wears a mask and has no care for furiosa and the wives. He refuses to even reveal his name Through furiosa he learns trust and regains his lost humanity, and furiosa learns(from Max) not to run from her problems but to face them head on. When they work together society flusters It's a deep character study and unlike other action movies the general audience does not get it because they need exposition. For example when the warboy screams witness me and jumps on a car you learn 3 things from that scene alone:- There's a culture of sacrificing yourself for glory There's a higher figure and a reward in the afterlife And that these youngsters are brainwashed Any other director would have explained this stuff through dialogue but not Miller who paints a story visually not through dialogue Another example is the blood transfusion scene at the end between max and furiosa. There's no explanation because we see max nux get blood from Max in a similar fashion and the audience can infer through that Another example is when nux steals Max's shoes or when max takes furiosas guns. These items are returned to their respective owners once max learns to trust them and let's go of his survival instinct and becomes human again It's a story about a man who has forgotten his own name and humanity and who gains it back by trusting others. Every single scene is jam packed with story telling and there's no filler. For example the old woman gives a wife seeds. Bullets are called anti seed. It's not spelled out because the film follows a fundamental Assumption: i.e Our audience is smart and they can infer our message through little hints that need no excessive explanation. I can keep going but you get the point People compare mad max to fast and furious type stuff. In films like F&f or John wick, there's action then there's a pause to develop character and then the action continues. Whereas in mad max the action is the story Its Miller not your average Hollywood Director.
Yeah it's been a long while since I watched the movie but if it had no depth I know I would of either hated it or forgotten it. I was confused when he said it was shallow story and only action. Both the story and action where bearing a heavy punch.
I just came back from watching the movie. As someone who has never seen a mad max film before, I really enjoyed the movie. It had great action sequences, has great cinematography and the outfits and vehicle modifications are awesome. I was engaged from the start to the end, it always has your attention.
People don’t know how to have fun since other TH-camrs are saying this movie flopped because it apparently didn’t have max when its established it is not about max and about Furiosa
Some things I noticed in the movie, the character Scrotus is played by the same actor who played Slit (Nux’s lancer in fury road) and one of the war boys near the end of the movie (I think he was yellow idk why) also appeared in fury road, as one of the war boys on the war rig. Also the name Scrotus was (possibly) from George miller’s original storyboards for fury road, as a character with the same name, though seemingly taking more inspiration from Immortan Joe, appears in the mad max video game, which was heavily inspired by George’s storyboards
i agree this is a must watch even if you dont think you will like it. i came out of the threatre not sure how to process what i just witnessed. but hours later i had an urge to see it again and again. i just wanted to relive some of those moments again so im def gonna go back to see it twice and that makes me know we got a banger on our hands.

So we’ve given him a list. He is a die hard Mad Max fan & Dune. Fury Road brought a tear to his eyes that I hadn’t seen since Constantine came out 20 years ago. He had no idea Furiosa was out. He seemed skeptical until I showed him the trailer & this video. You had him at “combustion engines rattling testicles” lol. You are his first YTuber he subscribed to. He hasn’t stopped watching your vids since lol
I liked the movie overall, especially the game references. Only scene I really disliked was the uh, let’s just say Spoilers Arm scene, I mean how did they escape when surrounded by 30 running bikes?
Dementus said something like "let's go home" and they started dispersing. That one guy Harley (the other sidekick is Davidson) can be seen slipping his machete back in his hilt. Thats why he was one of the few allowed to live at the end of the war, along with History Man. Harley freed her while Dementus wasn't looking. Idk if director does this on purpose but he adds things you only catch on the 2nd or 3rd viewing.

I haven’t seen the first movie, but dude Furiosa is the definition of dope, the amount of pain that she went through as a kid, and grown up, all those obstacles, everything about it was amazing.
Sir, I believe you mean the 4th movie. As Mad Max : Fury Road is the 4th Mad Max film.
U gotta watch fury road dude
You're lucky to be able to watch Fury Road for the first time after Furiosa
I envy you. I wish I could watch fury road for the first time again.
Beyond Thunderdome is the greatest
Real ones remember the title being "Furiosa Is A Must Watch Movie"
You had me at nipple clamps.
im so happy the mad max fury road sequeal is great, ive loved fury road for so long, i cant wait to see furiosia :)
It’s a prequel telling furiosa’s story leading up to mad max fury road
prequel
The sequel isn’t out, as others said. Prequel
It's very different from Fury Road, a lot more CG, and some of it quite apparent.
I still enjoyed getting to see more of that world, and would give it an equal score for different reasons. Just don't go in expecting something as kinetic as Fury Road.
It’s iconic! You’ll love it
Last time I was this fast, my ex girlfriend left me
deserved
Don’t read my name..
woza cobawza
By definition, she already left, if she's your "ex" girlfriend.
So true
I was skeptical at first, but hearing this makes me intrigued, might give it a watch
Mad Max is a series that I'd say has no misses. The original trilogy (yes even Thunderdome) is amazing, and these new movies Fury Road, and Furiousa, are just fucking perfection.
It’s a shame most people don’t agree, movie seems to be a flop
@@lucasbelmonte2832Most people who've seen it do agree. Most just haven't seen it... Allot like Fury Road honestly.
@@lucasbelmonte2832 No, CINEMA as a medium is flopping - not the movie, both audience and critic reviews are high.
I always click on TH-cam around the same time every day and it’s always around 15-30 minutes after Charlie has posted everytime early in the day and late at night aswell. It’s amazing.
dudes so consistent I can catch his videos on accident every day
@@OfficialNice it’s an amazing sequence to experience each day
Furiosa is absolutely in my top 10 movies of 2024 thus far !
I highly recommend this film to everyone, its faaaaking awesome.
Whats some other good ones on your list
@@jacobg2394Mars Express is underrated
Charlies face like he just pulled the greninja alt art
Yessir, just got done with a run, happy to see a vid
what you running?

Dune 2 and Furiosa are both the best theatrical experiences I've ever had this year.

Anakin would hate 2024
Please go see furiosa in theatres. I'm desperate to see a fury road sequel and with the current box office take, that looks increasingly unlikely. It's great spread the word
“I don’t like sand, it’s course and rough… and it gets everywhere.”
I love your vids Charles, keep doing your thing you absolute machine
I don't care if Mad Max isn't in it. Furiosa is an awesome second character and the movie expands the universe.
Saw Furiosa last night. 8.5 movie. Ania was amazing, also Chris and the actor that played Jack.
Ty for video
Mate!
i saw it yesterday and went back to watch every single mad max movie before hand. it’s so fun
Great review bro. Can't wait to see Furiosa.
I talked about this with my little cousin, and he said, "Spongebob movie good?" I died. 🤣
Edit; he said this because at easter/april fools, I convinced him that there was a new spongebob movie coming out two weeks later. He still thinks its in theaters 😂
🤣that is actually pretty cute
Which SpongeBob movie though? 😂

I like this one more than fury road
Same, just something about it
he’s so happy he unlocked a new wardrobe option
This is the happiest I've ever seen Charlie
Just got back from seeing it in IMAX. Absolute blast. I'll definitely catch it a second time. Her escape in one of the later chapters was so bad ass.
Man I loved Chris in this movie. He played such an expressive character, like he made his character feel more alive than I've seen a villain be in a while.
Hate it when people say fury road has no depth
Here's a short diatribe:- fury road is genuinely one of the best stories of all time. When they work together society flusters
It's a deep character study and unlike other action movies the general audience does not get it because they need exposition.
For example when the warboy screams witness me and jumps on a car you learn 3 things from that scene alone:- There's a culture of sacrificing yourself for glory There's a higher figure and a reward in the afterlife And that these youngsters are brainwashed
Any other director would have explained this stuff through dialogue but not Miller who paints a story visually not through dialogue
Another example is the blood transfusion scene at the end between max and furiosa. There's no explanation because we see max nux get blood from Max in a similar fashion and the audience can infer through that
Another example is when nux steals Max's shoes or when max takes furiosas guns. These items are returned to their respective owners once max learns to trust them and let's go of his survival instinct and becomes human again
It's a story about a man who has forgotten his own name and humanity and who gains it back by trusting others.
I can keep going but you get the point
People compare mad max to fast and furious type stuff. In films like F&f or John wick, there's action then there's a pause to develop character and then the action continues. Whereas in mad max the action is the story
Its Miller not your average Hollywood Director.
Read a paragraph (unlitterate) but you sold me dawg
Yeah it's been a long while since I watched the movie but if it had no depth I know I would of either hated it or forgotten it. I was confused when he said it was shallow story and only action. Both the story and action where bearing a heavy punch.
Beautifully put
Dr. George Miller is a genius
Furiosa make moist seem very happy in the thumbnail
Don’t read my name..
Yes
that 2 and a half hours went by in a flash, the ending narration started and i was actually taken by surprise, i wanted (needed) more
I just came back from watching the movie. As someone who has never seen a mad max film before, I really enjoyed the movie. It had great action sequences, has great cinematography and the outfits and vehicle modifications are awesome. I was engaged from the start to the end, it always has your attention.
Go watch more mad Max now... you won't be disappointed
The sand movie meta never fails to deliver, really knocking the superhero meta out of usability
2:06 Charlie you are Darth Insaneous!
I saw that title change.
The cgi was amazing in my opinion. It meant they could show how cool Gastown is, that was sick
This man talks about the most arbitrary stuff and I still manage to find them entertaining due to his vocabulary and the deadpan face and tone
"I don't like sand, it's coarse, rough, and gets everywhere."
People don’t know how to have fun since other TH-camrs are saying this movie flopped because it apparently didn’t have max when its established it is not about max and about Furiosa
Saw it last night. So good

Thank you for Charlie your videos they display a type of humbleness that enjoy very much so
Real ones were here before the title change.
Ayo?
What did it say
"Furiosa is a must watch"
If I had to be 100% honest, I thought Charlie was about to talk about the Garfield movie
The Cthulhu parachute was honestly the best and most hilarious thing i saw in the movie
i agree this is a must watch even if you dont think you will like it. i came out of the threatre not sure how to process what i just witnessed. but hours later i had an urge to see it again and again. i just wanted to relive some of those moments again so im def gonna go back to see it twice and that makes me know we got a banger on our hands.
Furiosa made me learn to never mess with a woman in their buzz cut era
If you love the lore of Mad Max, Furiosa adds a lot and makes you want even more.
I took my boys to see this and we all had a blast. I expected them to be bored during the slower scenes but they were hooked the entire time
Got my tickets to the 4DX show on Tuesday. Gonna be a wild ride.
0:08 just wait till Steel Ball Run😏
Buddy I’m so hyped for it I hope Netflix announces it sooner than later, an absolute masterpiece
Watching it with the fam tomorrow
“Hunny wake up! Charlie recommended a movie!”
Dude I’ve been playing so much mad max
I don't care what people say about this movie. Furiosa was amazing!
Furiosa is like Better Call Saul and Fury Road is like Breaking Bad. These prequels are so close to being considered as good as the original content
I sit up and pay attention when I see him with the grey/black shirt
Charles I must say my father retired a year ago from working 2 full time jobs & in the past year he’s been catching up on a ton of movies mostly horror & sci-fi that he didn’t have time to go see with my brother & I.
The movies underperforming but trust me it's a badass movie
I love this movie. It’s just fun to watch, I was never bored and I came out of the theatre satisfied and wanting more of the mad max universe
I hope the Mad Max video game sales go up after the movie so we can get another one.
You know a movie is good when Charlie has a big smile and fist in the air
I liked the movie overall, especially the game references. Only scene I really disliked was the uh, let’s just say
Spoilers
Arm scene, I mean how did they escape when surrounded by 30 running bikes?
Dementus said something like "let's go home" and they started dispersing. That one guy Harley (the other sidekick is Davidson) can be seen slipping his machete back in his hilt. Thats why he was one of the few allowed to live at the end of the war, along with History Man. Harley freed her while Dementus wasn't looking. Idk if director does this on purpose but he adds things you only catch on the 2nd or 3rd viewing.
@@ShakaCthulu ah, that would make sense.
