I worked with children for over 15 years, and sadly one of the first things I learned is that people who work with children need to be monitored more than the children...
This is exactly how I felt after watching the documentary. ICarly seemed like it would've been such a fun show to work on... It hurts to know just how stark the contrast was behind the scenes.
Jeanette McCurdy really opened a can of Whup Ass on Dan and The Nickelodeon staff. I’m really proud of her. She was raised by an absolute monster, she named her memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Is Dead.” She outs the ones she can without getting sued or killed. I wouldn’t expect such bravery from someone so young and traumatized. The powers that be should close down the predator hunting ground known as Nickelodeon.
Something to consider: Terry Crews got mocked for getting sexually assaulted and for not beating up his abuser. Had he done so, I'm willing to bet Mr. Crews would have gotten more prison time for assault and battery than Brian Peck did for sexually assaulting Drake Bell, and then blacklisted on top of that.
Amanda Bynes named him, but nobody wanted to listen to her. It's almost as if being abused and traumatized as a child can cause (or exacerbate) mental illness and then nobody is willing to take you seriously.
What happened to her is so tragic. People act like child stars just become crazy as adults. No, the adults in the Hollywood environment harmed children who then became troubled adults.
Crazy fact: there's an old episode of Chris Hansen's To Catch A Predator where a pedo comes to the decoy house & he turned out to be a cameraman for Nickelodeon & this was during the early 2000s. So who knows how many other of their employees were pedos as well.
I was thinking the same thing. It was crazy how quickly they swept the 2 offenders mentioned in the doc under the rug and how 90% of the public didn't know until years later.
Yes, he was a cinematographer on _iCarly._ Who was so dumb that Hansen’s team made up a fake 13-year-old girl named “Carly” and he fell for it. It wasn’t hard to catch these guys.
@@PeacefulJoint It was "the creator" of the ICarly show. There's literally only one person it could've been and the book made it very obvious the type of resources and influence he had to take legal action.
The way Dan talks about it is like how someone talks about a problematic tweet from 10 years ago. You're not being called out because some scenes in the show didn't age well, Dan. You're being called out for being a malicious predator.
Predators are usually narcissistic. Narcissists always follow the same pattern. Lie. Double down when first exposed. Play the victim. Blame their victims.
hes a narcissist, nothing is ever his fault in his eyes nor will it be. He will always find a way to spin shit to make him look like the victim bc thats what people like him do
@bearmassaro Dan "Squeezing a tuber is child humor" Schneider. Dan "Wet your chest cause you work for the best" Schneider Dan "Give me a massage, or your future's a mirage" Schneider Dan "Squirt it on your face if you wanna win the stardom race" Schnieder Dan " -Hand,- foot, and mouth disease" Shneider
Sad thing is that Nickelodeon knew about all of this FOR YEARS, they protected Dan they didn’t handle the situation anymore and they cut ties with him to basically just cover their reputation

The part that made me sick to my stomach was when Drake Bell described how his side of the court was basically empty while Brian Peck's side of the court was packed to the brim. Regardless of what Drake did later in life, I can't imagine how horrible that must have been.
That was the way of the business back then. They defended their own, bc most of them were also predators. That is how so many went untouched for years, the funny thing about power is its all perception. These people arent actually these all mighty powerful almost god like figures like how actors refer to them. They can be replaced in a second, and I think if more people realized that people wouldve spoke out sooner. Power is all perception, the fear people like snyder and vince mcmahon and harvey weinstein were able to instill in people with their perception of power is why they stayed in their industries so long. Its sad.
@@mechamahou8467 About 40% of children who are abused will go on to abuse others in later life, as documented by a study published in Psychological Medicine. 😢
No way, they have money so they can't get in trouble. No one cares about kids so long as the person hurting them is loaded. The entire justice system is a joke through and through, every judge, every lawyer, every DA, every cog in that machine should be fuckin ashamed of themselves.
I’m wondering if any of the actors that wrote letters were also victims that benefited from their relationship with him and don’t want the truth of their situations coming to surface.
That was the kind of apology someone would give for saying a racial slur on a leaked phone call, not creating tv shows designed around sexually exploiting children
What I disliked about the interview the most was the interviewer didn't ask the real questions... Can we confirm any of the things Jeannette Mcurdy claims in her book that you are the person she's talking about, And if you want to be forgiven then you need to serve a sentence at the very least and you have to face the music pal, Listen to the angry and hurt voices of these kids who are now adults and above that as far as whether he deserves to be forgiven is beyond me, I know people can change but many in his situation haven't, And those crocodile tears for drake bell I do not believe either but like I said only God knows people's hearts
The criminal psychology videos got us knowing instantly when someone is lying 🫠 honestly tho makes me wonder how much parents were weirded out by it. its still SO BADLY ACTED, he literally just looks like a narcicisst whos happy for the attention really. Notice how he roasts d*sney in the same minute for hiring Drake?
Honestly think that was a poor decision. The way it jumped to the crying I thought he was mocking her, like she came to him in tears and he was reenacting it. It took me a minute to realize he was actually pretending to cry
What really brought tears to my eyes is imagining Drake sitting there in a courtroom as a kid, supported by his family and having 41 industry figures write letters in defense of his abuser and he had to know and listen to it all. I just can't fathom that. I literally bursted into tears after that revelation. It makes you want to hug Drake and his child self so much. *I'm just going to make one response. Whether you believe Drake's allegations or not. Drake was 15 years old at the time of his abuse. A child who experienced trauma, a trial and the fact he only had his mom and brother to support him during the sentencing. I couldn't imagine or fathom how he felt. No child should have to listen to those letters. And no, I'm not going to respond to those who mock someones' tears. My sentiment is to a child who should have never experienced any of that. Done.

I cannot imagine how awful it must feel to be assaulted by an actual pedo and then being accused of being one by morons on the internet that cannot research anything.
What's even worst about Brian Peck is that apparently the people who created Zack and Cody were one of the guys who wrote him a letter during the SA trial. They knew he was a creep and didn't care.
That's right. Nobody cares. You can literally be a serial killer and no-one would care as long as you have the "correct" ideology and can promise a big paycheck to your backers.
"After his release, he was hired to work on the Disney Channel teen sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. He did voiceover work for 3 episodes but was later fired after Disney Executives learned of his conviction," It doesn't seem like they looked into his background well enough during the hiring process.
That's not surprising, considering how many kiddy didlers work for Disney. Considering it's a rockspiders dream job, you'd think there'd be better background checks
people think this isn’t common but it actually is i had a new manager at my job and they fired her within 2 months bc they didn’t do their research and realized she was in court for stealing more then 60,000 dollars from her previous job..it’s complete negligence by the higher ups who don’t care lol
Just to play devil’s advocate, obviously it’s bad that this happened, but there were a lot of people in the industry who didn’t know what Peck had done. There were people who wrote letters supporting Peck, but people released statements (that were shown on the doc) saying they never would have written that letter if they had known what he did. At least they removed his voicework and his name from the end credits.
that... actually, legitimately, makes me sick to my stomach. how on earth could you come to that conclusion in a situation where it is clear ONE person had all the power and control while the other was completely trapped? what the hell??
Exactly. Disgusting sick perverts!!!! Idc if a child asks you to have sex 1000 times and you’re adult. You better turn it down 1000 times or tell the parent. If they ask 1001 times and the last ask, you say okay yes. YOURE A PEDOPHILE. Period! Idc how “tempted “ you were you’re the adult regardless and should know better.
EW seriously, he shouldn't have been tempted in the first place :/ This kind of argument isn't used for like alcohol, we still have gambling and alcohol commercials etc etc I know it's not encouraged but we shouldn't be so complacent to allow people to get away with having a total lack of self control.
That’s actually sick to hear, I swear the old generation always try to find an excuse to make it seem like it’s the kids fault for the adult being a shitty person🤦🏾♂️
My mom always told me how evil Hollywood was as a kid when I told her I wanted to be a child actor and I’m more and more glad that she was so adamant about protecting me and that she was so against it
@@barackobama6105Well there is Drew Barrymore, one of the go-to cautionary tales of child actors, who absolutely REFUSES to let her kids become actors until they are adults. So there are good parents out there.
It pisses me off that Drake’s dad told his mom to keep Drake AWAY from Brian, but she legit did the exact opposite. Doesn’t that fall under as child neglect??
Personally, I don’t believe it is child neglect because Brian Peck was 100% manipulating the mom. We don’t know everything going on behind the scenes but based off the fact that he was able to manipulate drake into not keeping his dad as his manager, even though his dad was his biggest supporter and always looking out for him, that leads you to believe that Brian was very manipulative. Brian was able to create situations where drake being with him seemed like the most reasonable thing to do. Brian made himself out to be the best thing for drake and the best person to have at his side. Brian is just scum of the earth who knew what to do and how to do it to get what he wanted. Please feel free to disagree with me, I would like to know what you think.
Then the dude gets a job at Disney. I can’t even work at certaij construction sights around grown men with a felony. P3D0PH1LES run the world. Diddy gets his house raided but supposedly Epstein never did… 🤔
I can understand where you were coming from with this comment, but I have to disagree. Even though Brian was a master manipulator, Drake’s dad could see straight through Brian. Drake was easier to manipulate because he was just a kid. His Dad could see that his behavior wasn’t right. looking at the interviews of Brian touching on Leo was unsettling to me and I could see that something wasn’t okay just from that 30 second clip alone. It makes me wonder if she was ever onset at all to watch this behavior going on because if she was involved like she should have been then I think she would’ve seen for herself and understood why he saw Brian as a threat. It’s upsetting because she didn’t even have to figure it out for herself, The dad did that for her and he straight up told her not to under ANY circumstances leave Brian Peck alone with their son. As a mom when you’re told that someone is a danger to your child you should always be cautious, even if you don’t believe it. Why would you ever take that risk even if it was only, let’s say, a 1% chance of it being true? It was also mentioned, she’d let Brian Peck drive Drake to auditions, etc. because she didn’t like driving. It comes down to laziness to me and not taking her son’s safety as seriously as she should have. I’m not putting the blame on her because at the end of the day Brian Peck is 100% to blame, but she did not protect Drake and that’s a hard pill to swallow I’m sure. She has to face the fact that she failed her son and was negligent. She failed him. A lot of people failed him.
Ever notice what all these famous hollywood sex offender executives have in common aside from running Hollywood? Harvey Weinstein, Dan Schneider, Jeffrey Epstein, Ghlisane Maxwell, etc?
Corey Feldman been trying to tell us for nearly 40 years that if a kid is in the industry they're probably being abused/harassed sexually and nobody bothered taking him seriously

One thing that I remember the most about the documentary was Peck telling a girl he loved his job and kids like her were the reason he was willing to work for free half the week. If nothing else THIS should be another reason to pay people reasonably who work on kids shows/in schools ect. If you aren’t giving them enough financial compensation, you’re going to ONLY attract people who want to work in that environment for much more dubious reasons
It's worth noting that Brian Robbins, who hired Brian Peck and was the executive producer on both shows where he worked with Drake Bell, faced no civil suits, faced no disciplinary action for letting a child actor in his employ get sexually assaulted by one of his other employees, and is *currently the CEO of Nickelodeon*.

After hearing about these things; you suddenly understand why there was so much rampant drug abuse with these children. And you gotta wonder…What if the producers were the ones who got them hooked?
some of the actors , i know notably Avan Jogia (Beck) and i think Jennette had said that they were being pressured to drink and do drugs and party all the time. Avan had said he doesn’t remember a lot of being on the show because he was constantly hungover or wasted.
That’s what happened in Old Hollywood to actors like Judy Garland, they put her on drugs so she could perform longer, cigarettes so she wouldn’t eat, and sleep drugs so she could get a few hours of rest each night.
They were. You have a 13 year old child with no life, no real friends, and reduced parental influence because they are essentially under the control of somebody in a position of power who would benefit from this child being compliant and dependant. Who would you think gave them the drugs?

Denying your child their right to their freedom to choose their own destiny and basically giving up your custody of them to complete strangers with obscene levels of power is straight up abusive. Most of these child stars never choose to be in entertainment industry. They are forced into it by their parents who just wanted to make money off their kids, only to wind up spending more time with their bosses than their own families.

Those are the same people who think they have the right to lecture us on "morality". This is just another nail in the coffin for "progressive" Hollywood (and Liberalism in general)...At least as far as the United States is concerned. Now, before getting all huffy with me and calling me an "alt-right Trumptard", hear me out first. Right now the US is going through the demoralization and destabilization stages of ideological subversion as outlined by Yuri Bezmenov in the 1980s. Liberals are used to create social and economic crises through "social justice activism" which in turn creates division and anger between the "left" and "right" sides of the political aisle. Among those activists groups are the LGBTQ "community", some who would like to add a "P" to that list since, as they like to claim, "Love is Love". On October 3, 2022, the Department of Justice (“DOJ”) announced that the Access to Electronic Data for the Purpose of Countering Serious Crime (“Data Access Agreement” or “Agreement”) between the United States of America (U.S.) and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) is now in effect. Under this landmark Agreement, service providers in the U.S. and the UK will be permitted to respond to a “qualifying, lawful” overseas production order (“OPO”) to transfer electronic data created or maintained by the provider. According to the DOJ, the Agreement will allow the U.S. and UK to “prevent, detect, investigate, and prosecute serious crime, including terrorism, transnational organized crime, *and child exploitation,* among others.” What happens when, at some point in the near future, Liberals are declared to be domestic terrorists, involved in transnational organized crime (like allowing human and drug traffickers into the country due to lax immigration policies), Communist sympathizers and child exploiters? There is one thing you should know here, which you can easily research. All of the United States' "elected" Presidents have been descended from King John of England, descendent of Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne. Some Presidents, like "Progressive Liberal" Presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, are controlled opposition working for the Conservatives in the Vatican. These Presidents made it much easier for the LGBTQ "community" to be easily identified by encouraging them to out themselves through various methods. PRIDE parades, marriage documents, social media, Hollywood endorsement of their lifestyles, and so on. Get close enough to adding the "P" to the LGBTQ community and you will start seeing some major social instability (added to the economic instability brought about by Liberal policies in the name of "progress", like firing American citizens from jobs and giving them to migrants, or giving millions/billions in reparations to a certain demographic for something they literally had no part of in their entire life, all paid for by the taxpayer). What is the “7 Mountains Mandate” (Dominionism/Dominion Theology)? Supposedly there are 7 “mountains” of global society-Arts and Entertainment, Education, Economy, Family, Government and Military, Media and Religion. (Note: The US voting machines are called “Dominion”.) According to this false teaching, by conquering these 7 “mountains”, the Kingdom of God will be established. What I am getting to is this: We are getting conditioned for a revolutionary change of power in which Ultra-Orthodox religious Conservatives remove Liberals from positions of authority and influence, largely supported by the majority of the population (not including those some would call "far-left", of course, but those are just a small minority of people). You see, Fascism is coming to the United States as the solution to the growing Liberal Marxist (and immorality) problem in the US which threatens to undermine and destroy everything in the name of "progress". Hollywood will not be spared. In fact, they may be the first to be publicly...Dealt with. After all, the world is their stage, and millions will be watching to see their downfall. What makes me so much more angry is in the interview he said that Amanda was 16-17 years old when she started working for him. She was 13. Born in 86, got the job in 99. And to hear the claims now about what he did to her at that age is sickening 😤
of course nothing excuses the things he did that he was charged for, but it’s hard not to feel sympathetic for what he went through. abuse really does happen in a cycle :/
@@meganmadson8588 Totally agree. I never knew Drake Bell was sexually abused when he was younger. That's horrible, disgusting, and the man who did it is evil. But it is unfortunate that Drake himself went on to potentially abuse a child just like he was abused. There is no excuse for what Drake did, but it makes a little more sense now that this has come out. I read in one of my textbooks that around 30% of people who are abused or neglected as children grow up to abuse or neglect their own children. It's sad. It's really, really sad. (And I know the person Drake was talking to wasn't his own kid but the point still stands. A substantial amount of abuse victims become abusers when they grow up.)
@@GmmBeastThat's not what happened and it was proven in court. Drake exchanged messages with someone he thought was an adult. The person admitted to lying and the person's family also came out against them. Drake's situation is nowhere near comparable to Brian Peck. Especially at this time people need to go back and revisit what actually happened with Drake and the minor.
@@ProfessuhLemon huh, from what I know the accuser didn't really admit that she lies. Where did you get it? An NDA is used for corporate secrets (like how a business makes a product, or how a studio produces a certain show), any decent lawyer would help them break an NDA to hide a crime in no time.
The whole fiasco is heartbreaking. From the acts of abusing and exploiting children to the idea that generations of kids were brought up with these great shows and practically all of them are now tainted by monsters in the business. They took away the innocence of all of these kids in unsafe environments and covered up everything.

I hesitate to pass judgement on the mom. Emotional manipulation can fuck you up hard and I think it's very clear that Brian, well, dabbled.

Probably tbf
They were. You have a 13 year old child with no life, no real friends, and reduced parental influence because they are essentially under the control of somebody in a position of power who would benefit from this child being compliant and dependant. Who would you think gave them the drugs?

Honestly, it should be illegal for parents to forcibly put their children into the entertainment industry.
Damn, even if they choose to...To allow them to be in environments like this....
As a kid it upset me how the kids who were supposed to repredent me on TV looked so much older than me, but now I want MORE 25 year olds playing highschool freshmen. Watching the child stars i adored growing up developing very severe trauma and mental health problems was so sad to watch. The prison system sucks. As much as people hate it vigilante justice is far superior to actual legal justice in cases like this.
According to the DOJ, the Agreement will allow the U.S. and UK to “prevent, detect, investigate, and prosecute serious crime, including terrorism, transnational organized crime, *and child exploitation,* among others.”
What happens when, at some point in the near future, Liberals are declared to be domestic terrorists, involved in transnational organized crime (like allowing human and drug traffickers into the country due to lax immigration policies), Communist sympathizers and child exploiters?
After all, the world is their stage, and millions will be watching to see their downfall.

i hope amanda bynes, drake bell, and all the victims of this deadly, soul destroying industry find peace. i really hope they have people in their lives who love, care, and respect them. these children loved acting. they loved music. they loved dancing. and diabolical bastards took that away from them. took their joy, their bodies, their spirits, and destroyed it in the most violent way I can ever imagine. my heart will always break for them
Unfortunately drake had repeated the cycle. And Josh is a horrible person. Probably because of his upbringing. The rest I hope the best for
"Listen here judge, I realize that Dan 'diddled' a child, but I mean, who at Nickelodeon hasn't..."
💀💀💀
The fact T Bo did this is the saddest part.
He was one of the funniest characters on the whole show. I'm so sad that his actor stood by Dan even after Jeanette's book came out.
that ruined T Bo
he was probably offered hush money or told to do this. I feel like the review was also scripted and he's the only guy who Dan knew. Also, Dan schieder apologized like he's being held at gunpoint
a man u like being shit too is the worst part? 😦
@@jocelynecupcakehe also could just never have been mistreated and has his own opinions. Dan schneider is creepy af but i do respect him coming out and apologizing
Im certain Dan asked Jerry Trainor to interview him, got shut down, then settled for the next adult he employed that wasn't able to be abused at the time because he was already "too old"
Yep
I find it weird that I Carley herself never said anything about Dan...did he not like her or something? I think her and Jerry were the only two who never said anything
@@robbieracer3294 it's known he was focused more on Sam, she made a entire book about it called I'm glad my mother died
@@robbieracer3294they were forced to sign NDAs. Miranda was a kid & didn’t have a choice & im sure Jerry was pressured. They are actually currently (since Jeanette’s book got published) trying to break the NDA contracts they signed so they can finally speak
@isaintrovert I am positive NDAs cannot be enforced if the NDA is to cover up an actual crime (such as sexual assault) because otherwise Mafia and gangs can just say to the cops "sorry, I signed an NDA" and get away with literal murder.
Good thing I never like kids’ sitcoms.
Very great point about “if they cut it, you still had the child actor do those things”. I honestly didn’t even fully think that through until you said that. It was obvious he gave a crappy simple quick answer, just didn’t think through the implications of that response
You know, if Amanda was in the right state of mind and spoke her story, Nickelodeon would shut down as we speak.
Okay bud
At this point I might as well. I’ve always known this scandal for years but I was always interested as in how was nick not investigated. And how tf are they still making money😭😭😭
@@Darth_atrociousit's good Hollywood has been on a downfall anyways and this situation is not gonna help it anyways. Karma alr coming for these ppl

When Boogie says ‘not cool’, it just reminds me of that one scene from The Boys where the Deep is shilling the Church of the Collective through an ad, and one of his lines is for when a guy is harassing a girl and he says “Hey, man. That’s not cool…”
Like how do you un-ironically sound MORE staged than a literal television character that is meant to be conveying the message that bullshit public apologies are bullshit? Insane times we’re living in…
This is so on the money
The boys is so realistic with 'behind the scene' stuff like that lol, situations like this is EXACTLY what it's inspired from
T-Bo being the interviewer just adds another layer to this
I laughed off my ass off seeing his black ass on there ☠️I love that mf lol n the way he was looking at Dan is just hilarious ,he really tryna get to the bottom of that shii in the interview lol
Absolutely, but it is better to see him again☺️(after years of absence) than to see that foot fetished, weirdo, Dan bastard Schneider. 😡😡😠💀The latter made our childhood look bad
My thoughts EXACTLY!
he deff got paid for this and shamelessly took the money.
He got paid. Bro came out of the rock he was under JUST for this. It's just odd fishy.
10:09 the clips like the water, the potato, they look like straight up CP out of context. The fact nick actually let these scenes air just awes me
A lot of Nickelodeon shows were rife with creepy pedos. The stories about the dialogue coach on Drake and Josh are horrific. The fact that the parents are sending their child to go hang out at a 45 year-old dude's house for the weekend, and they think this is normal or safe, is so gross and sad.
what??? why the hell are they sending their children to his house???
Disney too
The bastard was pen pals with John Wayne Gacy and had his portrait hanging in his house!
Parents likely knew, or didnt care because the money was too good.
@@KinCrusader96 Drake's dad and other parents expressed concern with Peck but they were gaslit and told they were being "homophobic"
