- A fun look at recreational tree climbing and what to do once you get into a tree. Recreational tree climbing is a worldwide phenomenon, whether for sport, competition, aerial rescue training, or just for fun, more and more people are literally getting into trees. This is a look at tree climbing activities from the twisted brain of Free Fallin.
Special Thanks to Ashley, for her awesome pizza delivery skills!
Special thanks to Tim Crews for the great videos from NOAM 2019, and
Chris Coates for the information about competition climbing, and
Congratulations to Bryan Joseph Brock for that fantastic climb.
Also thanks to my lovely assistant Ella!

Nice to see you back. Hope all is well. STAY SAFE
Good to be filming again, I took a break and learned some photography to help with the vids, now they are just more work, hahaha.
Sterling Scion......my personal favorite. I cut my last one in half, the first day out. Great videos.
Hey, your back! 👍🏼
Glad you liked it. Scion is great with all my devices - wrench, HHX, Bulldog Bone, and Akimbo. Good all around rope. Some people say it's too bouncy but it never bothered me.
I'm a moving rope system kind of guy. 26 years now. Old habits are hard to break. However the Spiderjack 3 has been a fantastic upgrade.
@@johnmcgrath3907 nice, I haven't had a chance to play with a spider jack yet. I was kind of late to the game, i rediscovered trees about 4 years ago and at that point it made more sense to figure out single rope. I just enjoy climbing though, whatever technique or gadget gets me up there.
A whole new level of entertainment thank you
Joe from California.
Thanks Joe! This was a fun one to make, I'm glad you liked it. The making of video is pretty funny too, I had a ton of extra footage.
Free Fallin looking fwd to more videos.

Thanks for watching Vere! I'll eat a pizza to entertain you anytime, haha.

Thanks Casey! Very cool, I don't get a lot of people from Reddit, but I toss videos up on the how to, and the tree subs now and then.

Hey Mark, good to hear from you! I cracked up making this whole video, and I'm always in for pizza.
lol great video congratulations I'm on your video. 😄😄😄
I have a topic you might be interested in. How to climb using only rope. No other hardware.
I have been wanting to do that, just me, rope, tree. Tie a military style rope harness and then Blake's hitch it up on the same line, would make a cool video if I can pull it off.
Swiss harness, DRT, bridge and a Blake's hitch. It works just not as smooth ascending without a crotch saver or false crotch. Oh, the Swiss harness, it's a nut grabber so be ready to yodel saprano.
Paul, that's what the crotch saver is for!
@@matthewstone8466 yeah true but then that wouldn't be just rope, el natural ;-).
Anyone prepared for a nut grabber must carry a crotch saver at all times ;)
Hello I’m a 17 tree climber I don’t use harness but I’m looking into it because I recently fell out a 30 foot tree and fractured my wrist and thumb and I’m just lucky to be alive.
This is a really great video. Who was that beautiful assistant you had?
If you think she is good looking, you should see her mom, amazing woman, life changing to meet.
Nice video! I love climbing in trees, I don’t really get to a lot this time of year, but I do on the weekends as much as I can. May I ask what you think about the Sterling sicon? I am thinking about updating from an old tachyon to a newer rope. Thanks!
Thanks Adam, I love my Scion it was my first rope, it's bouncier than Tachyon so it really depends on how you climb and what hardware you use. I wouldn't recommend it for DdRT but it runs great through most SRT devices as long as you climb smooth and don't bounce step up the tree. It tends nice but it's not very stiff so you have to weight your tail with most foot ascenders.
Free Fallin, thanks
omg . what a funny man you are .. and Donald Trunk .. he looks barking mad
Thanks! It's not every day that you find a talking tree. Unfortunately a couple years ago he convinced a bunch of squirrels to break into my house and he had to be removed. Thanks for watching!
@@FreeFallinTrees are you still climbing?
@@tuberider1171 yep, not as much as I would like. I moved to the city and there isn't as much opportunity. But I do climb when I can.
Got this
No, you got this Daniel! Your the best 👍🏼
Mi same spirit in difrent body 😮😮😮😮😮
My top 5 things to do in a tree is evolves way no pants;-)

Want to donate a saddle.....
Ok, what did you have in mind?
Seems you recently updated.... I currently having issues getting a saddle
@@TreeTechLLC I only have one saddle, bought it 2 years ago and take good care of it. Before that I climbed on a $50 saddle from Amazon, it wasn't comfortable, but it got me in the tree. Good luck with your saddle hunt.
