Luv your work!! Thanks for lifting my spirits and reminding me about all the things I love about tree climbing.
You sir, are welcome Richard! If I am only good for 2 things it's spirit-lifting, and tuba serenades. You are welcome to either of those any time you need them.
Good job on that instrument seen, Very clever I totally thought you were way up in the tree, Well played. 👌
Ha! I was hoping it would work, I think making those 2 shots seem like the same moment did it, if you look close the below shot was 2 days later and it was sleeting, I think the tuba dripped on the lens at one point lol.
@@FreeFallinTrees haha, well your having fun and that's the important thing, I quite enjoy your videos because they are diffrent! Keep em comming 👍
@@PoplarMechanic you too man, it's been fun to watch our channels and skills grow, keep up the good work!
Great work on the original and thanks for the behind the scenes tour! Gorgeous property you have there, perfect for skyscraper pizza chats and tuba serenades.
Thanks Matt! I am incredibly lucky to live where I do, we have 6 acres of beautiful woods surrounded by cornfields. I keep finding spots like that fallen paper birch with the field and hills behind it that are just begging to be filmed.
Your videos are so funny and educational. Your shows are so easygoing and funny (that's a good funny, not a 'oh that guy looks like a contestant on the Gong show') that I didn't even think to consider all the work required to get all those shots let alone all the editing you had to do. Keep em coming, you really have something here. Oh, and more Donald Trunk!
Thanks Paul! A better question might be, why do you have this animosity towards Gong Show contestants... But seriously, I do have a lot of fun making these, and am trying to pull my kids in to help me more and more as the filming gets more complex. I'm just finding I need 4 hands sometimes to get the shot that's in my head. I don't see Donald Trunk going away anytime soon, he cracks me up.
Absolutely no animosity, as a matter fact, I love The Gong Show. You would have been a great contestant and would have never gotten a gong 😁
@@psullivan40 Hahahaha! 👍🏽
i second the more Donald trunk!
Love your channel so much! Got all the rock climbing gear and thought I might give it ago after watching one of your videos, it’s so true though it is such a fun sport/activity. Would love some more tutorial videos showing how you setup the ropes. I was also thinking is it possible to hang a tensioned rope between two trees and sort of traverse out tot the middle? Just wondering.
Thats great Shay, when i was younger i used to go repelling on rocks and cliffs near my home. I live in the Midwest now and can't find a cliff anywhere. This is what made me start looking at trees as an option to get my swing on.
What you are describing is called a highline, look for "highline trees" videos. This is not a common thing and can be very dangerous though because trees were not made for horizontal forces like that. The best way to traverse trees is to have a second climbing device or prussic on a second rope and move over by looking into both systems and "climbing" the second one to the other tree just like i did setting up the hammock in this vid.
If you want to meet the boss of this, get to know @AerialTraveler his vids are awesome learning material.
Here is a closer look at one of my climbing systems, although i dont use the chest strap anymore. th-cam.com/video/VASaTUwZGNc/w-d-xo.html

Thanks so much for the reply, will definitely check out the aerial traveler keep up the great videos!
Great video, & love how you involved your family!

Thanks, love your vids too! The fam is slowly coming around to the idea that this might not be a phase.
I must say....my wife is a saint! She deals with all the time I put into my channel, & completely supports me along the way. My daughter is embarrassed that her dad has a bigger following then her. She says her teenage friends give her a hard time😂👍
TH-cam is a beautiful outlet for creative people, & I greatly appreciate the platform.

You should be my neighbor. I recreation climb and laugh and learn a lot from your videos. Lots of hard work.
Maybe i am your neighbor, you never know. By the way, would it kill you to mow your grass now and then?!? Thanks for watching!
