without a doubt my favourite song of theirs! Pavement is one of those rare bands that actually sound good live.. it would be amazing to see them in Toronto!!
I'd disagree. I've seen so many bands that sounded so much better live than on LP. Teenage Head, for those in Canada would be one. The Clash blew The Who away when I saw them open back in 1982. Other bands that I saw that left their recorded legacy in the dust would be The Lemonheads, The Talking Heads, The Rolling Stones (back in the 80's) Tragically Hip, David Bowie (Sound And Vision tour with Belew on guitar) and The Viletones. Just to name a few. That said, I wish I'd seen this band live.
Fair question. To be honest he ruins most live shows and makes the band look and sound worse. He's like the autistic band mate they just let have fun on stage
I was thinking how Terror Twilight opens with this tune and closes with Carrot Rope. Great songs! But considering the lyrics of these two numbers (we probably should not spit on strangers or approach little boys that way...), it does seem like it was time to call it quits. And the brilliance continues with the Jicks.
cont... on the recording he says " a prize" I think he got messed up and started singing the prior verse...'I been thinking long and hard..." then goes into "you're a catch"
wow. I had no idea that nickel creek covered this song. I thought they wrote it haha. I like this version (original version ha!) just as much as the nickel creek version.
this band 's melodicity is criminally underrated
Melodicity? Your vocabulicity is underrated.
is that even a word
@@andrewoid4711 it is if you want it to be
Your grasp on the English language is overrated
No yours is
Nothing's better than seeing the guy beating the tambourine with a cigarette in the other hand. This whole video just makes me smile.
The image of Bob with his shirt tucked in his pants, a cigarette in one hand and the tambourine in the other... pure magic
Pavement and Built to Spill? This must have been the best episode of that series
I remember watching this in my apartment Junior year of college. I remember they were interviewing Elliott Smith and Lou Barlow but they didn’t play
without a doubt my favourite song of theirs! Pavement is one of those rare bands that actually sound good live.. it would be amazing to see them in Toronto!!
Your wish has been granted. They play there this summer.
Yep lol
just saw them last week. best live band ever. hope you're doing well these days and eventually got to see em

I love how Malkmus changes up the vocal melody on this take! so beautiful!
Best part of the DVD is when Bob tells the story about when their soundman asked him why he was even in the band.
It's crazy how much he really brought to the band, especially the live shows. Just not the same without him at all.
Every individual in society should have a Bob accompanying them
Fair question. To be honest he ruins most live shows and makes the band look and sound worse. He's like the autistic band mate they just let have fun on stage
@@Leebabins i disagree bob makes pavement a more interesting live act if you want something more traditional pavements not the group for you
Bob played (plays) drums and tambourine. He’s in the band, as he was chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequel to Stevie West’s life.
Love Pavement, love this song. So special band, always in my heart!
Mark Ibold always looks so stoked
Stoned*
This was the saddest.... I knew it was gonna end.
"Well I've been thinking long and hard" is the exact melody of "met a man Bojangles and he danced for you"
Awesome song!!
i'm sure they're all blazed
Minha banda favorita

2021! Still cry to this song. I miss the old times
This video always cheers me up. Vibes galore
Damn, Pavement is so dope.
Guy is hacking a dart and playing tambourine. What a champ.
that fucking bill in the first few seconds of the video...imagine seeing those two names together again??!?
I would eat my right second-to-pinky toe to see that. (idk what the name for that toe is)
Ummm, I think the bassist may or may not be high out of his mind...
i believe you are right
Go Sabres
it’s pavement dude. they all are.
Hoy descubrí está banda y me encanta

When stephen messed up at 1:55. So hard on himself
It's kinda funny how they do the little blip in the beginning of the song live
I certainly hope they do a club tour along with all these festivals!
Best band of the world
Amazing performance. Amazing band. So sad they broke up.
que lindinha vc .DEUS abencoe

No one grins better than Mark Ibold
Totally! To me, he always seemed the happiest out of the lot. Got tickets to see them in Perth West Australia in Feb 23 😎
@@garygarybeersi hope you enjoyed it!!
Love Pavement
Oooh, great stuff, thanks a lot!
Dude, the bassist must've smoked a pound and a half of weed before they did this show
No Pavement doesn’t do drugs. They only drink coffee. Also, pizzagate.
Big Lebowski
@@brownmonkeybananayellow no they smoked a lot of pot in the past. Wowee Zowee was literally just them playing music high as fuck
@@johndotcue I wasn’t being serious but that’s cool info. Must have been fun.
maybe their best live performance, even despite the mess-up by malkmus.
thx for uploading dude
stupendous
This should be saved.
Mark Ibold looks funny with that beard lol
Love ❤️ love ❤love❤
The dude abides
@KimJongSick Yeah, it look like hes trying pretty heard keeping his eyes open.
Whenever it’s real… whatever awaits u
spiral looks kinda cool
yess!!!!
2:45 funny. Scott stands up twice
yea it looks like they are splicing between two takes throughout the video
Bob’s tambourine sound was off too. Always wondered about that.
@DrDoombot you're probably right but also remember it was the 90s..
Is Nastanovich lighting up that smoke or not?
cont...

Nastanovich is a stallion
Ladies and gentlemen, on the tambourine, Seth Rogen!
don't you just wanna hug him!!!
🎸👍
❤
This song is made sweeter but it's subtlety.
Isaac Brock, too
@shreadhead96 yeah man this ain't no party
Jesus, they were a hell of a great live band.
@DrDoombot have u ever herd of david byrne?
Is that gary?
@shreadhead96 this aint no foolin' around
@allstarz029 way to write back 3 weeks later, buddy
🎶
What's Malkmus saying in the beginning? "the HBO guys...?"
HBO, guys. We like calling them out
4 20 1999?
" a prize"
He said pour me out or hold me out?
He's a little teapot. Tip him over and pour him out!
Pull me out
So stoned.
im so sad
@downrodeo2112 this aint no disco
@erinloveshobbers
that didnt even make sense
if your band doesnt have a man in khakis smoking a cigarette and playing tambourine, are you really a band?
I think they all did
marky got used to playing guitar like another person playing
very reel?unreal=
is westie leftie??
Never mind
