Md can you make a crayfish tank build?
@@spp2000 how is he bullying💀 they friends dum🍑
Can we get a victorian tidepool aquarium... how close to the coast are you??
The museum of aquarium and pet history has loads of videos about Victorian fishkeeping .. y'all should review some of his antique aquarium videos!!!
Boys you need electric blue jack dempsey cichlids .... and jaguar cichlids ... not together tho.😅
I missed the 2-4 minutes of just fish shots at the end, please bring that back!
Are you going to grow out a group of clown loaches for the 8 foot ?
Hi MD I have been following you for a while. To be honest I was going through a hard time in my life with work and home when I discovered your channel. I used your videos while I’m working to control my mood. Very calming and educating. I appreciate your service to TH-cam, continue being awesome today!
PS love the TeamUp with Matt he is a really cool person love listening to him educate. You guys are really kicking butt organizing that studio. Is Kate jealous of Matt? Lol jk
Feel better. You're not alone in the world.
TH-cam and the right channels can really bring peace which sounds weird but if you know you know.
what happen my friend
@@DavidDavis311great
Hi mate. I'm really glad my videos help you and you enjoy them. Stay safe 👍
Such a lovely team the two of you! I have a wish of something I'd like to see, and that would be a Q&A video once a week/biweekly or such because the two of you have well-rounded knowledge for answering a lot of viewer questions! (Also, Matt nerding out about fish facts is always so cute and fun to hear, I can see why you wanted him on!)
Even once a year would be appreciated!
I think a Reddit style AMA video on here would be the best bet, weekly or anything like that sounds like too much but 6 monthly or something would be amazing. Especially now with Matt on the team there will be loads of questions for the lads
This tank came together really nice, great job.
Live stream Q & A
@@moffitdrew they dont need to do it live but that works too
Gotta say your decision to buy that huge piece of wood was a great call. And I love how Matt is introducing you to new species of fish. I think this is my favourite tank you've done so far.
Love the scape! I really like that you're starting to bring the maintainence and feeding into your videos. It's nice to see exactly what it takes to maintain and keep a tank so big. Would love to see more content like this in the future!
I used to read books. 📚 no Internet in my day.
It's like the cut off wood was designed to come off and go there. One of my favorite scapes y'all have ever done together!
Thanks mate
Md can you make a crayfish tank build?
Edit: i have a crayfish i caught with my bear hands in a 36 gallon tank and it loves it in there, I named him the hulk😂.
Another great scape, you make it look so easy! Loving the banter between you both, teaming up like you have was a brilliant move and watching you grow your business together will be compelling viewing!!
In love with all of that dragonstone that you have lying around there!
Right? Would you like to share some with the class, MD? 😂
Amazing build! Lovely to see both yours and Matt's creativity come together with the banter haha. Such beautiful fish, maintnenance videos sounds very interesting! Also can't wait to see and learn about salt water setups! Great work guys
This week in Daytona is going to be 🔥
Would love to see a Scape-off between MD and Matt, same size tank and that’s it, no winner just a fun video between friends.
Ive watched this channel for years now and i always found it to be perfect for having in the back when i work or just messing around in the hobbyroom. I hope you read this guys, since Matt started working in the studio the quality have skyrocketed. Your channel is now hands down the best in my whole list of channel tyst i watch and get this… im not even a fish guy, im on that reptile ting. Bravo guys, bravo! Best of luck in the future and bit love from Sweden bois
Great video, love watching you guys! But your video is missing B-roll of the fish and tank at the end!! 🐠🐟
How many liters does the tank hold ?
Gorgeous scape, but tbh the monstera is overwatered. Black spots with yellow around it is a tell tale sign. It doesn't matter if it wasn't watered for a month if the soil doesn't breathe and the plant is in a pot without drainage holes. Compact soil will keep too wet at the bottom for too long and the plant roots rot, making the leaves go yellow.
I would advise keeping the monstera in a nursery pot with drainage holes and just using a decorative pot size or two larger than the nursery pot. And dumping out the water from the decorative pot few hours after watering so it isn't in standing water. But the monstera on the wall is overwatered and most likely if you unpot it, the roots will be gone and smell rotten 🙈
Was looking for this comment! Hopefully he changes to a good soil mix too, I've noticed my monsteras love a chunky soil mix and water once or twice a month (more like a quick drowning lol).
We really love the back wall shelf set up you did with the holding tanks. You and Matt work so well together. Sigh, wish our house was big enough to accommodate such big tank scapes. We love you guys. You gave us so many great ideas for our future scapes. 🎉
THE FIRST COLAB TANK SINCE THE HOLY UNION!!!! Was looking forward to this one!
If you heat the room to ~76ish degrees Fahrenheit then why is Matt not sweating his butt off by wearing a hoodie?
Is it just the camara angle or is the new shelving bowing already?
wide angle lens 👍👍
@@MDFishTankslooks very nice, would love to see a tank vids in the future with some different speices of apisto, i feel like they dont get enough love and are beautifull fish.
Incredible result! You two are going from strength to strength! I'm looking forward to future updates on this tank!
Holy Schnikies Batman! This build is my new favorite!!! This turned out so gnarly. The fish look just brilliant in this tank.
Loving having Matt there as well. The humor & dumb jokes ..... keep 'em coming!
This tank is amazing, and the fish choice is perfect! However, you forgot to put a clip of just the fish swimming in the tank at the end. :( I like to see it completed and running with just some background music for a short time at the end of the build video.
I was waiting for your new video
Love the tank! Hey MD, you NEED to do a mini-scape for some Dario-Dario. TRUST me on this one!
This has got to be in the top best tanks you have made. Great job
Hello, I have 4 foot 60 gallon aquarium I was wondering if that was enough to house 2 electric blue acara with some schooling fish
Looks great! (But please remove the wood on the background shelf - it's a bit distracting)
As much as i love your channel (and thats a lot) i do wonder about how much to take on with regards to how you do your substrates considering you break your tanks down after such a short time 🤔
And i know you'd like to see your tanks spotless all the time but i honestly learn more when you show them a little "in need" of maintenance, looks a lot more like my own then 😁
Hi MD. I just set up my very first lowtech planted tank all because of you! Thanks for giving me inspiration on doing this hobby. Im from the Philippines
Your both combination is superb, and your tank setups are going amazing .giving me a lot of new inspiration to go on with . Thank you for the effort.❤❤
I love the camaraderie between you two. Beautiful build!
Great video! The only thing I missing is a video of the fish set to a bit of music at the end of your video like you used to do. Keep up the good work
Go big or go home!
Loving the giant hardscape it works so well. More tanks like this please. 👍
I got two albino hoplo catfish almost two years ago. They're fully grown now, housed in my community nano aquarium, and are truly fantastic fish! Really peaceful and a bit different to what you normally find in an aquarium. They usually come out during the evening but will sometimes venture out during the day for live food like bloodworms, so you might struggle to enjoy them fully away from a home aquarium. I'm glad to see them finally make an appearance on the channel.
I always use closed captioning because although I mostly watch British content, (and can even understand Scots) I hate to miss a single word of banter. The captioning service that you use is so exacting (most are often hilariously wrong) that today it read 'divver fish' for dither fish. Apparently, it has MD down perfectly!
Your partnership is definitely greater than the sum of its parts. This was a very enjoyable start to my dismal, rainy Portland Oregon day, thanks to you two!
Loving the amazing videos, you 2 make a great team. With the chill out sofas it just gives me the impression that a podcast or Q&A could be hosted from that spot, would be an amazing addition to the channel or the MD brand. Even if not, i still really love just watching the content you guys put out 😀
Beautiful tank. You and Matt are an unbeatable team, superb creativity. Thanks for the videos I am always learning something.
Best episode together for sure! (Not that the others were bad) . Keep it up guys! Energy is starting to blend 🙏
New video! Great way to start off my morning work day!
I love all the videos you guys come.out with ita fin to see what tow great minds come up with for a set up.
Always watching your videos and ive learn a lot. Thanks for sharing ideas
Whats the name of plant in the back bottom corner left and right
Epic piece of hardscape! I would utilise the rear shelf as part of this hardscape and use more wood and terrestrial plants from the shelf to give the overall scape more depth.
Exactly! To not utilise the shelf within the scape is a waste, and using the shelf behind the tank for anything else will be distracting, I am sure MD and Matt will realise this themselves.
I am just so happy your whole adventure has taken off.
Amazing how you were able to build such a studio and live from doing what you love best.
And to team up with Matt is the cherry on the cake.
We love you guys.
What happened to the plan of putting discus into your biggest tank (this one)?
Nonetheless another great build and awesome video!!
Please can you do a tank with rainbow snakeheads
Love this channel! I love watching the two of you working together. Entertaining and educational!
The shop is looking good.
Your scapes are so impressive.
Makes me want more tanks (don’t tell my wife).
Can’t wait for the 8 ft tanks!
The fish wall looks so good.
Gives it the fish shop look.
Do you guys give tours of your studio?
Such an amazing scape guys. Your team up was the best thing. Loving the education , banter and the amazing tanks you create. So amazing MD to see your channel grow from the shed in the garden 👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🐠🐟🐠🐟
This is your best tank scape yet, can't wait to see it mature.
Can't wait to meet you both this weekend!
I just recently aquired and aquascaped my first aquarium (since childhood, anyway) because I was inspired by your channel, I love how simply you break things down and how much enthusiasm you both seem to have for the world of aquascaping and fishkeeping. I'll be introducing some shrimp, a few snails, and some corys to my tank in a few days, and I'm stoked! In doing my research, I found myself wanting some videos that go over good combinations of fish to keep in community tanks - I know you guys do consider and discuss how the fauna you're putting together get along for each specific project, but it would be cool to see a longer video where maybe you review some of the communities you've made, issues you've had with species not getting along, or how water parameters made keeping two or more species together more difficult than you thought, that sort of thing. Anyway, love the channel, keep it up!
Still using Matt’s Maidenhead aquatics picture in your thumbnail🤣
Upgrade MD😅
Love seeing the behind the scenes of maintenance and keeping things going
I absolutely love the Blue Acara such a beautiful blue and orange colors. Brilliant well done mates. What a great duo. See ya
Well....don't think you gotta worry about that chunk of wood floating. Nope. LMAO
I was actually half expecting it to 🤣
@@IndoorEcosystem I did hold my breath. Because with those two, anything is possible. LMAO
@@cathyhendrix7552 🤣 yep!
Can’t wait for the saltwater series 😮
I would LOVE to see more maintenance videos. Instruction from experienced keepers would be hugely beneficial. Equipment maintenance, tank maintenance, etc. There are so many videos of setups (which are amazing) but it's a long process and there's plenty that goes into it besides setting yourself up for success. Much love!
“Screw the RULES!” ~ Literally love MD😂😂 **Also, Would love to see local access to NutriBase here in the US, thank you for being an interlocutor in that conversation!! PEACE 🤙🏽
Fun fact - the plant you call "pothos", is not in fact a Pothos. It's an Epipremnum.
It's perpetuated as the "common" name for it, even though we've known the difference for over a hundred years, and it was last proven in the 1960's when an Epipremnum flowered (one of the best ways to differentiate between genera et.al.)
Specifically it's an Epipremnum Aurea - the labelling is actually wrong - it's not an Epipremnun Pinnatum.
Pothos is a different plant genera, on the same level as Epipremnum (The plant names, basically - Epipremnun, Monstera, Syngonium, Pothos, Alocasia etc.)
Not that this is salient information, or something you'd remember - but I just wanted to tell you :)
I would just like to take a moments to appreciate how much hard work you put into this channel. You always have a great attitude and I love your mindset of jumping on an idea as soon as you have it instead of kicking it down the road until it never happens. I have recently incorporated that into my own life and it makes an incredible difference! Thank you for everything you do for the community and keep up the good work!!
Loved this, ripping out my 230 litre soon and have been looking for new ideas for a new scape.
Love how youve youve gone with annubis and bucephalandra. I seem to struggle with Java Ferns 🤔
Love how you generally go with non CO2, great for us guys on a budget
Nice one guys 👍
You guys really make me wanna get back into fish keeping haha, brilliant tank build! Love the whole thing 😊
try one aquarium tank with ghost knife fish
Great review. You guys nailed it. I like that you put up all the info for the products👍agin good job you two. ✌️🦐🐟🤙
Love everything about this tank. Stunning. I'd love something like this in our home
I think you guys should consider a second channel comprised of "virtual aquariums." Just plunk a tripod and camera down in front of the mature tanks for a couple hours as a way of highlighting and immortalizing some of the prettier builds before you tear 'em down and start over. And it'd drive more subscriptions with relatively minimal effort, no commentary necessary. Food for thought.
That scape looked amazing without the plants! Reminded me of a scape that your friens in the US(?) could make, the dudes you visited not long ago :D
Love this scape! Exciting times ahead with both your expertise and idea's!
How many percent you drive the scaper lights from superfish? 100%???
Love you guys! Making it so much fun, because the hobby should be fun! Love how you guys work off each other so well. So glad you teamed up, YES PLEASE GET THEM TO SHIP THE NUTRIBASE TO USA AND CANADA!!!!!
I have been looking for that product for soon long.
Another wonderful tank! A friendly suggestion...try removing the piece of wood on the wall behind it...I think it interferes with the lines of the tank's awesome piece of wood. I love your channel so much.
An equivalent to Nutri Base would be something like ADA power sand, Tropica substrate or Dennerle NutriBasis.
I have always been a Liason fan, but have come to accept that GH will never let it happen. Keisha is a nice thought but she couldn’t accept him as Jason Morgan. He and Jagger had a big “who’s is bigger contest” over Karen in high school, but she’s passed. Not many choices left.
Forgive me for asking. How do you pay for all the equipment, fish , plant and wages. I'd love to now how much the finished tanks cost.
The equivalent is from seachem, it is called seachem flourite. I use it in a couple of my aquariums and they are doing great for my plants, wish I had used it in all of my tanks when I was putting them together. It holds its nutrients for at least 3years and if you want root tabs, seachem has flourish tabs.
Hey MD, I've got a suggestion. How about doing a bushy scape with full of plants that is like bush or coarse, you know what I mean...
Beautiful planted layout. The dragon stones are radiating. I don't know if the centre piece is bogwood or anything else but it's epic. Can you tell me the water change schedules Mr MD fish.
As someone who does both fresh and saltwater I’m so excited you’re venturing into the world of marine aquaria!
Are you referring to a different video? the fish in this video are freshwater only.
@@shawnal6412 He mentions how they are going to be setting up saltwater.
@@prof.fishtanks I didn't notice that. But I was watching with a low volume.
I currently have a 29 gallon community tank for small fish. I am planning on a 55 gallon cichlid tank, excited!
Good but think you could have done better with that piece of wood to be honest, maybe tough crowd but since you get so much praise I figured Ill be contrarian and I only say this because you have done better setups in my mind so I know what you two are capable of. Plus for hoplos, minus for overplanting(and honestly dragonstone was wrong choice in my mind but then again I am not a huge fan of the texture in general so might be I am the odd one here). Still 8/10 or so but you set a high bar for yourselves ;)
From the U.S. and I've only seen them as white finned tetra or rosey tetra. Of course, I'm also in the Appalachian mountains of VA where new fads are late coming. ❤
Hi mate, love your video and use them to guide myself on maintaining my own 285l aquarium. I wanted to ask about your water changes and the equipment you use. Can yourself or anyone in the community guide me to purchasing a water pump and a hose pipe that can connect to a sink tape? Any advice would be great 👍🏽
really cool scape with that combination of wood and the dragonstone. Only about a year ago that I learned this about it. My shrimp love exploring all the crevices in the stones.
Around 7:20 - 7:25 ish makes my google home go off. The first time, it told me how to clear my throat for singing. The second time, it told me how to clean lightbulbs. The third time, it played a song called "what if I told you I love you" ??
👍🏻😎I just got one the other day (Royal Acara) and it's about 2" long. I can't wait to watch this fish grow out.
Hey guys, i watched a couple of your videos and wanted to ask where you get all your aquariums from? Mine always have these glass bars on both sides on top of the aquarium for safety, but i dont really like it, yours dont have that tho, thats why im asking where your aquariums are from. :)
Yas, and get it to Australia too please, and Aquarian food so I’m not paying $80 a pot lol. Ps very “epic” Tank
Looking great guys. Can we get a tank tour with music? Showcasing the fish and aquascaping? Cheers!!
I wish these guys did home visits and scaped tanks for clients!
Awesome as always ..... but you realise you passed up the perfect opportunity to do the hardscape only build with that epic piece :-p
the tank turned out amazing 👏... don't like the hoplo. sorry matt.. but they'll only come out at night anyway 😆.
I am officially renaming the Royal Acara…wait for it…the Burberry Acara. Bam! 🤜💥🤛
Thank you addressing the yellow Monstera leaf cuz I was just like 🫤🫤🫤
Everytime I have to use accu-clear it makes it a tad bit more cloudy for 24hrs then it'll start to clear up real nice, it always works for me but not in 1hr. Another bad ass set up tho
God, if you could convince Colombo to enter the US market, I would be eternally grateful.
Hi guys, i am following you, love what you do. That big wood doesn't float at all? I have some in my tank, hardly did to anchor with a big rock
Cut of the leaves that are ugly and yellowing, they won’t come back to green, they’re also taking nutrition from the rest that’s green which in houseplants are not good. ☘️
I love watching your videos. My only concern is that, the wood was leaning on the glass. You think it will hold that heavy wood?
Fairly long time sub, no hate, but you setup tanks like they're going to run for 5 years and then dismantle them in 6 months.
