Thank you and excellent question! If you have the cellular version of the Apple Watch, then yes there is a setting for "keyless drive" which lets you unlock and drive your car without your phone or tesla key card with you. I only have the WiFi version of the watch so couldn't test this unfortunately.
Does this drain the battery? Saw it was refreshing about every 2 seconds. If the car is sending updates and communicating that frequently, wouldnt that be a drain?
Hey yes you're correct it will indeed drain the battery faster that usual if you keep the background refresh setting enabled in the app or have a more frequent refresh interval. If you would like to minimise battery drain, I would recommend turning this auto refresh off which won't constantly wake up the car. I've explained this in the battery savings section in this video at the 6:49 timestamp. Hope this helps 🙂
while the tapping commands can be carried out from the watch, I am unable to talk to siri on the watch. any ideas what is going on? what am i doing wrong?
You need to add to add the shortcut to Siri from the app settings. Go into Settings of the app -> select Siri Shortcuts -> click Add to Siri on each of the commands you need controlled. Hope that helps 🙂
Oh man, that intro was so cool! Went and rewatched it a couple of times 😁 that tiny lag is totally worth it if you have your hands full with groceries or something.
awesome one. How did I miss this video. Well hey, I do have old watch Watch version 2 and its not Cellular (Bluetooth only). Can i still use siri on that same as you? I understand I need to have phone too with me but the touchless trunk open is marvellous lol. So happy to some some 20 AUD. I am confused if I should buy now or buy after watch upgrade. I am thinking to upgrade to latest cellular and bluetooth combined watch perhaps apple watch 8 or 9 series. Can I port it to that watch if I buy now?
Thank you tintuu! 🙂 Hope you're keeping safe and well. Yes you can absolutely use it with a non-cellular Apple Watch (mine is Wi-Fi only too). You can buy the app whenever as the purchase is linked to your Apple account (not the Watch). So whenever you upgrade your watch, it will be available on the new one too.
@@EVKiwis Ahh I see. Thank you so much, I completely agree with you. Hoping to buy one app soon (Perhaps the same one as you, impressive trunk opener through siri, wow)
Hey! It sounds like Siri on your Apple Watch issue rather than an app issue. What Apple Watch version do you have and do other Siri commands function fine?
I just purchased the app. My iwatch works when I touch the watch but siri voice command is not working…error message “please you your car control to open…”. Please help.
Sorry I would need further information to help you out... Can you please message us using one of our social media accounts in the video description? Alternatively, I would recommend getting in touch with the app's support team directly here: www.watchfortesla.com/faq/
If you have a Wi-Fi only Apple Watch then yes you need it either within range of your phone or an active Wi-Fi connection. With the LTE version of the watch you don’t 🙂
Yes I believe there are apps available for both the Android Wear and Samsung Tizen powered watches as well. The features might be slightly different but the core controls it offers are very similar 🙂
Thanks so much for the feedback - glad you're finding them useful 🙂 And that's so exciting, welcome to the Tesla family! Where abouts is your pickup from?
the commands are also not taking from the iphone. so, both iphone and apple watch are not recognizing siri commands, but i can manually tap them on the app and can run the tesla. frustrating, since the only real reason to buy this app was for commands to the car, from the watch....
Oh wow! This video is almost a year old so it must have gone up in price now I guess... Another app called Watchla is a great alternative and is much cheaper. I will try do a video on Watchla too.
@@EVKiwis Haha someone has been trying to convince me to switch from an Android phone to an iPhone. I’m going to show them your comment and be like “I’m not switching to an iPhone until I have a Tesla”
I just hadn't seen the menu with Siri, thx a lot that helped :-D works perfectly now
Does this app turn your Apple Watch into a Tesla key?
Nice video!

Very useful! A must have for any Tesla owner 👌

Haha thank you 😀 Agreed, we think so too!
Just send the command when you wheel your groceries out the door.

Liked this a lot. I’m a massive apple fan they have got me by the short and curlys. So this is defiantly getting purchased when my car comes.
It's absolutely a great addition and I was surprised that Tesla's native app doesn't support this.
It’s worth having the Tesla App. Indeed very useful.
I love Siri- listens & obeys everything, every time. 👌👍
Totally agree! It makes life so much easier 😀
Hi, does this app work on models Y, X and S as well? Thank you!
Yes it works for all Tesla models 😊
Working great on cellphone Siri, however my Apple Watch sometimes didn’t recognize the command, sometime execute without recognize 🤔

I added voice command but still not working. ..”took to long to respond” per Siri
