"The British Grenadiers" is a traditional marching song of British, Australian and Canadian military units whose badge of identification features a grenade, the tune of which dates from the 17th century. It is the Regimental Quick March of the Royal Artillery (since 1716), Corps of Royal Engineers (since 1787), the Honourable Artillery Company (since 1716), Grenadier Guards 'The First (later 'Grenadier') Regiment of Foot Guards' (since 1763), and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (since 1763). It is also an authorised march of the Royal Australian Artillery, The Royal Gibraltar Regiment, The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery, The Royal Regiment of Canada, The Princess Louise Fusiliers, and The 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles. The standard orchestration for the military band was approved in 1762, when the Royal Artillery Band (initiated in 1557) became recognized officially, and for all other 'grenade' regiments in 1763, when the remaining unofficial bands gained official status.

I am from Central America now a Naturalized citizen. When I was in the American Army we bad an official bagpipe and drum section attached to the unit. One summer we were TDY training troops elsewhere and as we were marching to final formation our butts were dragging! We weren't marching just walking alone.
Then from behind the Pioers started up!!! Every back snapped straight, chest were thrown out, chins can up, legs picked up the regular marching pace! Pride and tbe pioes picked us up and carried us down tbe road in perfect step! Damn but it felt GOOD to be a soldier again!!!!

I was attach to the Grenadiers in Germany 1967 they were the best i was RCT the only one my room mates who where Grenadier guards where great blokes miss you my friends .

You know, I'm not an expert on British military units but, I guess it really doesn't matter. However, just for some of those who think this is the Grenadier Guards unit in the London Garrison. It's not. The video is the Coldstream Guards in London. Red plume on the bearskin covers are Coldstream. White plume is the Grenadier Guards. Blue plume is the Irish Guards, Welsh guards have a White and green plume. The collars are also distinctive. So, Red cavalry troopers are the household cavalry, Blue is the Blues and Royals, then the artillery is like a really dark like blue with gold. I like to compare that pattern they have to the Union musicians uniform of the Civil War in the 1860s. Has the same pattern but different color. In case y'all didn't know. I am an American, and I of course am in the US Military. I know more about the US military units and specifically Air Force. But, I'm not that much of an expert on British Units and ranks as well as how the chain of command works for them. So, me knowing the units is pretty good. I am able to tell more by the collar of the soldier on guard in the London garrison.

The issue with this video, is that they are NOT the Grenadier Guards.. the troops parading at that Trooping the Colour are a different regiment, they are the Coldstream Guards... they look similar & are both part of the Household Division, but the Grenadiers are senior to the Coldstreamers..
Whichever regiment of the foot guards is trooping their colour, the British Grenadiers march is always used for the escort to collect the colour

The Foot Guard Regiment shown parading their colour is not the Grenadier Guards but the Coldstream Guards. The Grenadier Gaurds have a white plume not red in their bearskin like the Coldstream Guards, although strangely the band on their forage caps the colour is reversed with the Grenadier Guards having a red band and the Coldstream a white. Also the buttons are wrong,, the Grenadiers have single buttons down their tunics and the Coldstreams in groups of 2. Still a good video showing the Foot Guards at their best.
