    Sorry BT I vented a little to much I really appreciate your videos and your information very useful, I just care alot about all of us who aren't what you would say "the right stuff for Hinderer" it just gets me every time, Sincerely Smitty

    Good comparison. I've owned several examples of both knives as well... and I have to say... in the end, I probably prefer the Seb21 too (the large).
    BTW, centering an XM is easy... open the blade half way... crank the pivot down really tight (you shouldn't need the spanner tool to do this)... loosen the body screws (don't remove, just loosen)... close the blade (with the pivot still cranked down)... once closed pull the blade toward the direction you want it to move for better centering (in your case toward the lock side) then tighten the body screws and loosen the pivot until the blade centers (then adjust minutely if you need to, to allow for action preference).

      1all's Pub I watch your vids all the time. You have a great collection! Thanks for the XM centering advice. I'm going to give it a try. :)

    Hard to beat that Sebenza in the looks department. Elegant without looking old fashioned, capable without looking tactical or overly utilitarian.

    The hinderers being made now a days are just awesome. The detents are perfect and the fit and finish are much better imo. And I don't even need the tool to adjust the pivot on mine. I just take a flathead and adjust the pivot to where it's perfectly centered

    Hi Bobby, interesting comparison. Overall my vote is firmly with the Sebenza 21. No need to put yourself down mate, it's good to ramble on sometimes, lol! Anyway your videos are some of the best out there in terms of quality production, honest first hand experience and overall content. Keep up the great work fella. Cheers!

      lee33htzdiscotech Thanks! The Sebenza 21 is probably my favorite knife I have owned so far! :)

      BT Blades
      Roger That! I've got my second Sebenza 21 this time with the black micarta inlays heading my way, via my TH-cam buddy Rob, aka TheApostleP's sharpening bench. To be honest as you have previously stated, if i had to grab just ONE folding blade over all others, my Emersons/Hinderer/Rocksteads/Striders/TAD Dauntless etc it would a Sebenza. However it would be a tough call between my 21 and 25... For me the 21 would be the one! It is just an outstanding example of form, function and engineering excellence. Cheers!

    Just got a 3" xm-18. I was surprised also at how small it is. I just slip it down my leg pocket, and carry either a 31/2" H or an older 2009 Um. I like both and just can't stop flipping them....Enjoyed the video.

    I had an xm 18 3.5 and it is hard on the finger but that's what had be thinking sebenza, but which one? 21 in Damascus or 31 in special graphics?

  • @Makoeja
    @Makoeja 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have the Hinderer XM-18 3.5, and everything on mine is absolutely perfect. My only issue is that the detent is relatively weak, but she still flips pretty well.

    Nice video Bobby. I have been watching your vids for a year or so now. Quick question: did you buy the 3" Hinderer with the blue scale or did you have to buy it separately? I really want one in blue. You should sell that one to me, man. Lol. Keep the vids comin'!

    SEBENZA 21 HANDS DOWN, the XM18 is a great knife made by a awesome cool maker, Rick and Rob are great to work with in customer service also, I've owned all three and there are just a few cons I would have to say about Hinderer, #1. the price is ridiculous, its double when buying from secondary market which I believe is wrong for that much of a mark up, I know Rick doesn't want his knives in the wrong hands but let's be truthful, if I didn't know better it's a scam between both dealer and maker

  • @reversedengineered1862

    Cheaper and fit and finish is well top notch and comes with lube and pivot tool and even a microfiber cloth, also 13 manufacturer awards in a row I think something like that is proof who or which marketing program is best and overall availability and pricing and just how well does it perform, Its just hard to beat and im a huge knife nut, but that's something I just can't stand, is shitting on the little guy, its just plan wrong yeah Rick is a legend in the knife community but when I showed my

    Do you have small hands? I've been thinking a small 21 is just too damn small, but it looks about right when you hold it. I have a Benchmade valet, and the specds say its the pretty much the same size, and that thing is like as big as my ring finger! haha

  • @reversedengineered1862

    Centering if always off to the front side scale, and detent is to hard or to lose, But the knife is awesome and isn't for a grail collection or a knife that is just to look at the XM18 is absolutely a tank and sturdy and design simply to devastate everything you might need it to do so that said it's not a knife that should be sold with that high price cause it's not worth double IMO. But Rick does make customs which are over priced as well, it's ridiculous,,,,, Sebenza 21 just does it right

    my od green xm 18 3.5 favors the lockbar side just a bit. I think because it's such a thick stock blade it's harder for it to be 100 percent centered. I love mine locks up like a vault and no blade play ♡

    That detent is better than the detent on my microtech kill switch. Had it for 4 months and flipped in 1000s of times and i can still barely flip it with the pad of my index.

    My XM18 to my uncle which is retired military Army guy, he basically said I was stupid for paying that much when he could have gotten it for me, so he's right i should have done that but being a honest person and im thinking I'm a okay person was not the type of person Rick Hinderer or Rob Orlando wants to have or own their knives and thats why from that day never would buy another knife from them, that sad cause they make a hell of a knife, i hope not to pass of anyone who reads this it needs

    Money made is great and a plus, #2. The pivot tool that has to be bought after spending enough money for a custom you have to go out and buy that also wow ridiculous #3. Also one broken in the pivot screw if it's not sealed with a loctite substance it will unscrew when opening, #4. The quality control like detent and blade centering and the sharpening of the edge is all poorly done IMO, After sharpening they use a buffer to polish the edge which only messes up the finish on the blade, the blade

  • @reversedengineered1862

    To be said by someone cause one day others will wake up and see just how the knife industry is going, the mark up of all knives was triggered by Rick Hinderer and Rob Orlando the XMs are the thorn in the side I would say IMO, Sincerely God Bless PS look at the Fit and finish of Jesse Jarosz and John Grimsmo and ask yourself this question, do you guys think that the XM is on par with those knifemakers work, IMO NOW WAY

    • @Apex_grind562
      @Apex_grind562 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reversed Engineered who could compare to grimsmo? A company of brothers that play lottery to buy. These knives are not mid tech of custom. Let Chris Reeves or rick hinderer build you a custom and ask the same question . You are talking different levels of knife making. Production and two brothers picking tickets while taking weeks to build one knife don't compare. Ask Sinkevich to sit down and customize you a blade. It's called opinion. And you are probably a Nick shabaaz fan boy lol. No offense, just blade talk. Different tools for different people.

    Wouldn't it be retarded to bushing with a sebanza or winderer ? Wouldn't it make more sense to get a sanrenmu 710 or something and use that for labor work instead ?

  • @reversedengineered1862

    Basically stating his knives are considered nothing like any knife in the world and a pure hearted soul that's a cop or fireman or anyone in the military is a better person soul wise and deserves a cheaper price which I'm not saying that I don't think or disagree with that but there's bad people everywhere, so a person that's had no problems with the law or just a good person will pay double, and let's be real if i was a dealer I would want to be a dealer for Rick and Rob cause well all the
