    Unless your knives are an investment, then why not use them? You only live once and you can't take your belongings, with you. So go ahead and use those awesome blades. I do.

    Nice video. Not surprised that the Sebenza gets the most pocket time. All 4 are great solid knives. For a great slicer (main job of a knife) I mostly carry my Spyderco PM2. At the $130 price range the PM2 is hard to beat.

    Man really powering out the videos!
    Still haven't gotten an SnG yet, but I agree that it'd definitely not see as much carry as my Sebenzas. I just love the high hollow grinds.
    Would love to see a knife collection video from you!
    I noticed you have a nice variety of spydies. X]

    I have bought my share of tactical knives, but I have come to really love full flat grind Spydercos. A knife that is too thick for general cutting tasks is pointless to me. A $400 knife for prying is just crazy when I use a heavy duty screwdriver or a pry bar for the fraction of the price.

    I've never once used a pocket knife for food prep. If I'm preparing food I'm in the kitchen and I have literally dozens of kitchen knives. Also, I've never once peeled an apple. Who peels apples? What are you six? Do you cut the crust off your sandwiches too?

      JrFreak Go to Hinderer’s website. It clearly states the XM-18’s blade is designed for prying.

    Good vid man. Entertaining. I agree with most of what you said. It's hard to beat a Sebenza for an all around EVERYDAY knife. If I had a Hinderer I'd probably carry it too, just darn hard to beat the carryability of the Sebbie.

    You gotta be single, man, to have that much invested in pocket steel!
    Actually, I've got no room to talk: I have a Classic Sebenza with a Lisa's Pick graphic that is my back pocket EDC on almost all workdays. Front pocket is usually one of a handful of SAK I own, some classic Victornox going back 30 years or so.
    For dress, and in a different class, I have a CR Mnandi with Devin Thomas Raindrop Damascus and Tambotie wood slabs. Sweet!
    PS: I NEVER use a knife as a pry tool. Wrong Tool!

    Just judging from the voice and hands, he's likely a bit chubby, so his fingers probably have some give. Perhaps they are dull, considering he was talking about using his Sebenza as a secondary option when his "razor knife" (assuming he is talking about the ones with the disposable, interchangeable razors) isn't there. Some people simply can't sharpen... others have found out the magic of sandpaper and strops, haha.

    I would in a pinch maybe use a knife to pry with if I had no other choice but in all honesty I just could not make myself pry with a 4 or 5 hundred dollar knife. I think most knife makers and designers would tell you not to do this. Some knives you could get away with prying I have no doubt and maybe a little more so with a high end knife with good steel. I have been guilty myself of prying with a cheaper edc beater knife but I will not ever pry with a 5 hundred dollar knife , not going to happen ever for any reason but if your willing to do that with yours more power to you its yours and you can do what you want with it.

      Aidan G. Yes actually it upsets me my apple eating experience would be so much better if a had these fine crafted peelers. For me they are a bit high priced I'm more of a pear eater which requires a different line of peelers but these for a hard core apple enjoyer I say pull the trigger and get your hands on these if u want the best apple eating experience of your life

    • @MPerry-ox9qb
      @MPerry-ox9qb 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hahaha....I agree completely. If you need to peel your apple, in order to eat it. You're probably too damn young to own a knife.

    • @clubing7rules
      @clubing7rules 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matthew Perry Agreed. If you use a knife to peel an apple or any fruit that you commonly eat the skin with, you don't need a knife.

      @@MPerry-ox9qb crazy... who would have thought a guy with kids would use his knife to peel apples along with his other daily tasks?... he probably cuts cardboard, zip ties and straps! Why !? when he could just carry a box cutter!?
      Why would grown men feel the need to make fun of a knife reviewer... reviewing knives?!
      So many questions.....🤔🤔🤔

    Never owned an xm-18, I have an (0560CBCF), but I've owned 2 smfs, an sj75, 4 sebs (2 21s, a classic and a regular), and an Umnumzaan. From the ones in this video, I'd put the Umnumzaan at the top, with the striders second and the sebenza last. I like knives I fan flic open and the seb was just too much of a pain to develop muscle memory on. However, I think if I owned an xm, it'd be #1 for me, cause I'd put my 0560CBCF above all the ones I have.

  • @dalecarpenter8828
    @dalecarpenter8828 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    All liner locks . All stupid over priced ( I collect clones of stupid over priced knives ) liner locks are the weakest lock on the market ! Hard use destroys these knives ! Everyone says they are hard use ( hard use is battoning ) when they are only rough use ! !
    Almost totally hype ! The price is all hype ! All fan boy reviews !
    The strider is even a lousy cutter because it's flat ground ( the clone is hollow ground much better cutter )
