Having 2 dogs always seems to make both dogs happier and better-behaved. I'm so glad Jack and Benson are a team now.
I saw a video recently where this dog only responded to commands in Spanish because his previous owner spoke Spanish. I know Jack was a stray, but maybe Spanish commands would work on him too 😅

Sounds like a reaaal pug!! I adopted Bentley when he was 2. I never was able to learn him to lay down. He is 9 now. That noise making before diner, Bentley does the same but much louder haha.
He is very young so they are very active. When they turn 5 they become calmer haha.
They are such clowns!!
About that teeth, if it doesn’t botter him, leave it in. It isn’t necessary to remove it as long as it doesn’t botter him of give problem with other teeth.
I love having 2 pugs. They are 13 and 9 years now. My oldest I got when he was 9 weeks old. I would love to adopt another pug. But for now 2 is the max. And I hope my boys will be with me for a very long time!!
I have two pugs… they snore from both ends… pugs owners will understand that. They are the BEST companions. Congrats, Jack on a great home.
I feel like there's something about pugs and their food. I have one and she is SO food driven, she knows all her tricks but she refuses to do them unless you have a treat in hand (or pretend to have one). As she got older, she started to get super cheeky with her food as well. I work from home so I will walk her and feed her in the afternoons - then as soon as my dad arrives home, she'll lead him to her food cupboard, push her dish around, cry and act as though she hasn't been fed lol. They are so stubborn but also the most loving dogs
Yes! My pug was extremely food driven and very dramatic about it🤣 My dog used to try to convince all my visitors that I'd been starving her and they really need to save her by feeding her. Stubborn, loving, dramatic and hilarious--gotta love a pug!

From one pug owner to another Got to love a pug ( aka Velcro dogs 😂). I don’t know if you do this but it better for them to feed them with their bowl of the ground like a one of the raised wide bowl s .Benson and jack are so cute . Also using a harness to take a walk than using collar as it can damage their trachea. I have loose collar on my pug with tag but use the harness to attach the lead to . I am a cat person but i watched this because im curious about dogs personalities.
We have a neighbor that left their dog when they were away for 2 weeks, they locked their gate but we can see their little dog lay around on outside their home and the poor dog is bone thin and cant even bark because they left him there without a person to take care of him. What we did was we gave him water and food 3x a day, good thing their steel gate has wide enough gap for us to give the poor dog food and a bowl of water. At first he will hide and just eat the food when we were not around but after 3 days he will wait for us and eat his food even if we just sat down in front of their gate. We did that up until the dog's owner came back from their work trip. But I think their dog recognize us now because whenever we go out of our gate he will go and sat on the gap that we used to give him its food. Sometimes he just walk around wagging his tail asking to be called doggie. We call him doggie because we honestly dont know his name. He is a good dog he rarely bark and he is friendly i wish our neighbor will take good care of him more. I think he is just around 3months old puppy. 😢
Rescuing animals????? It is my cup of tea as you put it! in 30 years I have rescued and made them family members until they cross the rainbow bridge :( a total of 5 dogs and 23 indoor only cats! 🥰❤❤
Pug in dad's jacket, pug in bed=perfect pug parents.😊A pug will do ANYTHING for food. Train Jack with LOTS of treats. Pugs do not like heat OR cold.

The whining Jack does reminds me of a pug I had named Francis. He was obsessed with food. Our nickname for him was “One letter short of a pig” because he was adventurous when it came to a lot of different foods.

Oh girllll you are in for a life full of laughter with him. 😂 my parents have two pugs and they are by far the biggest personalities inside that tiny body of theirs. (That’s speaking from we had the derpiest boxers prior) Also theirs have trouble with training too so I have to believe that’s the breed that you’ll have to overcome. I will say- be careful of his eyes if he’s playing- they can pop out. It seems like Benson has already taken on the role of big bro so I bet he’ll catch on quick. They are one of the most intelligent breeds I’ve seen. My parents youngest has mastered the art of deception with the oldest- it’s quite hysterical how smart they are.

Someone I know decided to rescue a dog from a similar company here in the uk. After having him for a while she’s learned that her dog has an old un-healed fracture on his back leg which now has to be amputated costing her thousands. It’s ultimately her fault for not getting insurance however it should have been picked up by the charity upon inspection.
You need to leash train him to get him to follow commands. Not forever, but until they learn commands. Leash train for all commands let's your dog know what you want. Dogs don't learn by vocal commands., They also learn by reward. Take a treat, hold in your hand and when you see him follow the command (sit, stay, lay, etc) immediately reward him. Repetition is key. Soon you won't need to leash train, and the command will be sufficient. Thanks for adopting! 😊

Love this little Jack! All of my pets are rescued from a kill shelter in Aztec, NM…And it’s nice how quickly little dogs adapt to each other! I’m sure that Benson is happy to have a buddy.

Haha pugs are the most stubborn dogs to exist and they are food obsessed! Definitely need a harness to walk them because of their physiology. They are the most loving dogs in the world though ❤

I have a pug and he licks a lot. The vet said it allergies, so you might have to put them on a special diet. And keep up on the dental hygiene. Pugs are prone to plague and tartar build up. Have fun! My pug was bad for peeing everywhere too, now he’s old and is having hip issues. They are cute when they are young, but they do require a lot of maintenance. Good luck 🤞🏼 ❤👍🏼

With his sit and lay down, maybe you need to experiment with his treats to find something higher value for him! Being 'stubborn' is really just him not seeing it as worth it to do what you're asking. You might have to find things that he likes a lot as a reward, even things other than food like playing tug.

We own a pug and hey are like having a toddler with they are such good dogs though
my pug just turned 1 year and she doesnt like going outside and rarely pees poops outside. she is pretty good at peein and poopin in the trainin pad at home (some times she pops outside of it and or on floor and sometimes she pees in my parents bed if we leave door open) shes also scared of everything like going outside we put her lil vest and she starts trembling and she barks at noise and if she hears stuff outside or people inside the building. she also doesnt really eat like during dinner time we ve food for her and she doesnt want it.. but she will asks her our food (even tho she has the same food) its like shes also scared of her bowl? we ve to feed her by hand sometimes or else its like she wont eat for a day idk maybe shes also just not hungry bc shes doesnt use that much energy hahha mine also snores sometimes. she also has seperation anxiety i think bc when someone goes to bathroom and close the door or bedroom door (specially if its my mom she follows my mom everywhere) my dog will start idk crying and or barkin or scratch the door for it to be open. and if my mom goes out she will pace around the apt and idk cry a bit idk (my mom rarely leaves the house , theres always people at home too) at first my cat didnt really mess with her but now theyve started kinda playin with each other and chasing each other but i think shes kinda scared of my cat bc whenver my cat moves while they playin/lookina t each other,my dog will step back/run away xD
You also need to get him a coat. Puggies def do hate the cold. I have to put on a coat for my pug and he goes out no problem.
