Every time I look at furnished balconies all I can think is "what happens when it rains?". They all look so cute and cozy but if a storm comes the last thing I'd want to do is run to the balcony the get things inside.
Here in the south east USA we are prone to tornadoes. So, when there is a possibility of severe weather everything that’s not bolted down gets taken inside. It’s possible that it will be blown to the next county. Yep, it has happened!!
Hi Jenna you've inspired me to pick up knitting again. Im 11 and at the moment and ive made a pair of mittens, a scarf and a hat. Im now currently working on a bag and you've been my inspiration for everything! Whenever i knit i watch ur videos and just knit. Thank you so much, keep doing what your doing! Ilysm💙
Ty lol🙂 Yes i was knitting in grade 4. My teacher taught me how to knit and i knitted a scarf and a hat but i got bored of knitting and watching Jennas videos inspired me to pick up knitting again lol😅☺
Omg I’m so impressed and jealous, your view of the city is awesome, the fall colors are beautiful. Love love the deck, it’s another room. So cozy and inviting. You’ll enjoy many hours out there, I can see you knitting on the couch with Benson hiding under a blanket. Happy Thanksgiving, sending love. ❤
I love the individualism of your style!! Every little thing you put in your apartment is so uniquely you and i can't wait to see it grow with odd little treasures over time :))
The deck turned out gorgeous! Having a hard time imagining that it could be warm enough to sit out there in the winter (I live in Phoenix, Arizona) and that your new plants will be ok in the cold but I'm sure you know what you are doing. I'm lucky, I can have a garden year round here but, as you said - gardening is HARD WORK! Great job Jen and Tim, I really am so jealous of your beautiful view and fabulous apartment.
It turned out amazing! You might want to check into wrapping those cedars in burlap for the winter. I am not sure how cold it gets where you are but I know in WI a lot of small trees do better when they are wrapped over winter.
I recently moved and now have a big ish balcony and I put like, a small couch in there, and crammed every possible space with planters for vegetables and fruits. I have the walls covered and then big planter boxes where possible. Nothing better than harvesting your own food, but it does mean sacrificing on cozy balcony space and sometimes that's a bummer. Your lounge area looks so cozy and inviting.
Jenna is just so fun and cute. I love her personality. She is younger than my youngest child but I know she would get along with all four of my kids and their spouses.
this looks sooo good! it reminds me of that one lofi girl video where she's on her deck/balcony and it looks so cozy, like yours! this space is such a good addition to your flat, like an extra living room
idea for the gardening spot: flowerbulbs, crocuses, daffodils, snowdrops. the are very easy to plant and come back every year. great if your dont have time. no idea if they sell them in canada tho. and the deck looks absolutly amazing, i am obsessed!!!
Love your videos especially when you show yourself going to all the shops. I'm a vancouver native but have been living abroad for 8 years. It's such a homey feelingto see familiar things during the holiday season.
OMG Jenna! You and Tim did a fantastic job! I love watching everything you create or make. It blows me away by how talented you are. I hope y’all have a wonderful thanksgiving!! See you next time. ❤🦃🍽❤️
I'm watching you decorate and shop and LOVING it. Those back wood screens look amazing behind all the perfect plants you chose. It all came out sooooooo amazing!!! that was a great video! love, hugs, prayers.
This is a great vlog! The balcony looks so inviting. I like that it is covered too! I so want to see the balcony in the summer. Thanks for always inspiring all of us with ideas.
Trees are heavy. Did you check with the landlord about the weight on the patio terrace? Asking for safety. It looks fantastic and cozy. A lovely place to relax and entertain.
I was going to tease you for getting so many items that you were going to have to haul back down one day, but honestly that looks very cute, practical and not too cluttered. Love the matching pastel green. I wonder if your neighbours are peeved about seeing the wood through their frosted glass, though! Also, any weight guidelines for balconies like this?
that is a great question! i have never thought of a balcony potentially having a weight restriction because i have sadly never lived in a place with a balcony
so I was the girly with trees on the deck. Very nice big potted trees that we bought with my apt. As nice as they look, potted trees are on a whole different league than when they are on the ground. I had a tree and 2 pine trees and they all died after a year. Completely my fault but it's so hard to keep up their watering needs. I have a green thumb and have many happy indoor plants so 🙅♀
I started watching you a while ago - At first I thought you were in America but you are in Vancouver! I live near the beach! Your apartment looks so inviting and the view of the city from your balcony (& your balcony makeover is great!) Plus the mountains in the background look great! Love this city!
Your so cute. I can so relate to your home depot trip. I live in a tiny house and I want to take home all the plants. I only have an Edward and a bella. Both are ivy's and if I separate them one starts to die. I love that you named your trees
Oh my goodness every time you go near your patio wall my feet get so sore. I hate hights😁. Lovely patio it turned out so inviting if you can handle heights😅
That's an amazingly huge patio. I think I would've had to put mesh up between the top of the railing and the underside of the patio above, just so I could feel safer re: pets...and myself as well, tbh. Scared of heights. Great view, though. How to make a patio like that cozy? Colors. Big cushions. Rugs. Trees. String lights. But most of all....flowers. Those partitions would be perfect homes for trellises, along which I'd put not cedar trees, but flowering vines! Cedar trees have immense water needs (carrying water across that couch everytime? NO.) Flowering vines like jasmine, columbine and morning glory would be gorgeous though, and even in the winter the trailing greenery would be nice. Oh and also, I think a potted flowering rose or two would be nice as well, and a couple of pots of annuals. I hope you picked trees which are ornamental in size, lol. Otherwise you're gonna have to move 'em out at some point....
When you were buying all of this things, I didn't think it's a good idea, but in the end I am surprised how everything matches so perfectly! It's such a beautiful, cozy space to relax right now. PS Bensy made my day as always:)
I just wanted to say I love your videos❤ and I don't want to freak you out or anything but it's easy to find somebody's exact location by using landmarks. it's a gorgeous view but maybe blur it or keep it out of frame to avoid stalkers. Stay safe!
Those cedar trees look amazing, remember in the summer time or heat they are very thirsty plants. Come the wet weather have you anywhere to store the soft furnishings for your outdoor space as can get moldy...🤔 sorry just being a bit mum'sie.😅🤣😉😉
Plant climber plants on the other partition planter like money plant, ivy etc...in the future it will turn to be a green wall ....or even a climber rose....
Beautiful work on the patio. It’s going to look amazing. I have to ask, is there a video for the fabulous granny square jacket you had in? It’s so pretty & colorful.
I'm in love with this deck!!!! Are you going to bring the pots in during the winter or insulate them, or leave them go? Also do you think you wanna do composting on the deck too for your garden? Can't wait to see the spring/summer updates!
Felt queasy every time you were on the balcony, so not best video for me. I could never live there especially with the glass railing. I’d feel as if I was going to fall through all the time 😳. Still enjoyed your endless enthusiasm Jenna 🙂. 🎄💜🎄
Beautiful and cozy looking. Nicely decorated but how are you going to manage watering all those plants? Where is the water going to drain? To the balcony below you? If none of the pots have drainage holes that is going to negatively impact the health of the plants as most don't want to sit in water. So beautiful but maybe impractical.
Every time I look at furnished balconies all I can think is "what happens when it rains?". They all look so cute and cozy but if a storm comes the last thing I'd want to do is run to the balcony the get things inside.
we use tarp covers for our couches etc 😊
Yeah! Where does it all go too they don't have a shed etc. I'm in the UK though so rain is pretty much guaranteed
@@pyjamabottoms670 yes I understand your thought process as I'm also from the UK 😕
@@pyjamabottoms670 everything is rain proof. That’s why it’s outdoor furniture and not just stuff meant for indoors

you are 11 and you got back into knitting??? as in you were knitting at 9??? i mean impressive im glad you’re back into it
Ty lol🙂 Yes i was knitting in grade 4. My teacher taught me how to knit and i knitted a scarf and a hat but i got bored of knitting and watching Jennas videos inspired me to pick up knitting again lol😅☺
we are the same age and the only things iv’e made is mushrooms and a really bad strawberry 😭
@The music freak I wanna knit mushrooms but i feel like those would be really hsrd and i would rage quit😭
Hard**
Just a quick note on tree care! You don't want the mulch or dirt to cover the trunk at all because it can cause the area to hold moisture and rot.
thank you for this tip
Here is a tidbit of info those slat wood dividers you can get hooks that slide on so you can add pots for more planting potential. 😊
Omg I’m so impressed and jealous, your view of the city is awesome, the fall colors are beautiful. Love love the deck, it’s another room. So cozy and inviting. Nice to get a glimpse of the city at night. More, please. The balcony looks fantastic. I’d be hugging the inside wall, though.
I love the individualism of your style!! Every little thing you put in your apartment is so uniquely you and i can't wait to see it grow with odd little treasures over time :))
I love the transition of your life. New project, same values.
Love watching your pull apart, rebuild! 2024🎉

Ok that granny square jacket 😮 I am now adding that to my list of items to make. And bumping in to the top 😍
This is the most iconic Pinterest aesthetically pleasing patio/deck. I need a green chair like that!!!
Your lucky that your hubby appreciates your talent! It turned out beautiful!
Sad they broke up.
That granny square coat is AMAZING 😍
Not a snowball's chance in the desert of ever getting me way up there!

Despite my fear of heights, it looks very cozy👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I wish I had a place like this, but...maybe on the first floor😁
I was waiting for a comment like this! I wouldn't be able to step outside the living room!!!
It's gorgeous! Also, I laughed at the swim goggle eye protection that Tim used (very resourceful!) to drill into the ceiling.
this looks sooo good! it reminds me of that one lofi girl video where she's on her deck/balcony and it looks so cozy, like yours! this space is such a good addition to your flat, like an extra living room

I just moved away for university and your vlogs are making me miss Vancouver so much! I love that beautiful city and it will always be my home
Got a video of yours on my recommended a few days ago and now every night I must watch your videos to wind down and comfort😌
I'm watching you decorate and shop and LOVING it. Those back wood screens look amazing behind all the perfect plants you chose. It all came out sooooooo amazing!!! that was a great video! love, hugs, prayers.
Love the look of your finished deck at night with the lights! I would want to stay out there even at subzero to temperatures!🥶
Hi Jenna! From Argentina 😃 love your videos and enthusiasm! 😊
Thank you! 😃
Sending positive vibes to your trees so that they survive winter!
Love this makeover and love the gardening video vibes, never apologize for more plant content!😄
Won't those trees grow?
It’s going to be Jenna’s jungle when all those trees grow bigger. Love the deck!
This is a great vlog! The balcony looks so inviting. I like that it is covered too! I so want to see the balcony in the summer. Thanks for always inspiring all of us with ideas.
I love your new place ,I am scared of high places

Jenna, I love the granny square jacket you were wearing when you got the second set of plants. Did you make it?
Love your candid videos!!

Rubella Japonica developed the red buds during winter and flower summer.I trim mine one flowered
Love watching these projects!

To be honest, I click for the title and thumbnail, but I stay for the Benson content 💛

That's all I need today for inspiration/motivation, thanks Jenna *.*
Fantastic job on your balcony area! 🌲 🎉 enjoy it looks so romantic at night with all the lights on 😊

I approve the nebraska sweater
When you were buying all of this things, I didn't think it's a good idea, but in the end I am surprised how everything matches so perfectly!
It's such a beautiful, cozy space to relax right now.
PS
Bensy made my day as always:)
little pots that have clips on them would look great clipped onto the privacy planter, opposite the cedar trees!!!
I just wanted to say I love your videos❤ and I don't want to freak you out or anything but it's easy to find somebody's exact location by using landmarks.
it's a gorgeous view but maybe blur it or keep it out of frame to avoid stalkers. Stay safe!
The patio is very you. I love that it's so colorful.
Those cedar trees look amazing, remember in the summer time or heat they are very thirsty plants. Come the wet weather have you anywhere to store the soft furnishings for your outdoor space as can get moldy...🤔 sorry just being a bit mum'sie.😅🤣😉😉
you could hang planters from the divider on the bare end :)
So pretty!! You did a great job !! I would love to sit out there & look at your view!!!
I love ur videos by watching ur videos I made a crochet bag ❤❤❤❤❤
Plant climber plants on the other partition planter like money plant, ivy etc...in the future it will turn to be a green wall ....or even a climber rose....
I'm jealous!! Wish that I could have a patio at my home! Such a cozy place!
Beautiful work on the patio. It’s going to look amazing. I have to ask, is there a video for the fabulous granny square jacket you had in? It’s so pretty & colorful.
Loved seeing the Bosco verticale as a reference! Hello from Milan

The deck is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!
Benson looks adorable!!!☺
Jenna you did a great job. How will you prevent the soft furnishings fading in the sun ?
I'm in love with this deck!!!! Are you going to bring the pots in during the winter or insulate them, or leave them go? Also do you think you wanna do composting on the deck too for your garden? Can't wait to see the spring/summer updates!
Patio looks really great.
Your patio is such a dream!
Felt queasy every time you were on the balcony, so not best video for me. I could never live there especially with the glass railing. I’d feel as if I was going to fall through all the time 😳. Still enjoyed your endless enthusiasm Jenna 🙂. 🎄💜🎄
I'm so happy I found you, you make my life complete:)
You guys did a great job!! The tree shopping was informative. Love you!

If none of the pots have drainage holes that is going to negatively impact the health of the plants as most don't want to sit in water. So beautiful but maybe impractical.
Yes cedar trees needs lots of water

Your patio looks awesome! Also, I love your jacket made of a quilt, I'm wondering if there's a pattern for it or where did you buy it? Thanks a lot! 🥰
I think it’s an older collection from Sea New York
So cozy, Jenna!!! Love it.
Your patio looks so cozy!
Looks so beautiful 😍 and mesmerizing.Grwat work.
Beautiful! Well done!❤
I immediately thought of measles, mumps, and rubella when you said the name of that shrub lol.
It looks so good that i would probably be able to sit out there for a good 5 minutes before my fear of heights took over. That's a lot for me!
Where did you buy the privacy fence planters!? They’re just perfect
Hearing you talk about an hour of gardening and seeing you renovate your new place in 2024 is pretty funny ngl
Your patio looks beautiful x hi to Benson x
I so enjoy your videos!
Jenna please make sure that the red berry plant you bought is not poisonous to Benson
Omg I love your shirt! 😍🥰
It looks beautiful!!
The way I click this video so quickly 😂😂. I love your content so much 🤍
