Great clutch shooting by Duck Williams. ..Awesome to revisit another magical moment in Irish lore.

My dad Duck led Notre Dame to its only final four appearance in school history he was clutch during his career at ND.

he had a real pretty shot. those 3 swishers he made were perfectly in the center of the basket. I remember him from when I was little. he made a lot of long shots I recall in the 78 semis when ND almost rallied from way down against duke. should have beaten duke. ND would have given UK a much tougher final than Duke that year. but yes, duck was an underrated player for ND. they were loaded in the 1970's and early 80's, and should have made several Final Fours.

@@lbirdfan3324 Digger and Al Mc guier were outspoken about Ncaa. They both were punished with horrible seeds in tourney. I think 74. West region. 8 teams. Top of bracket had irish. Marquette and a top 20 team . Irish were ranked 8th? Marq 5 or 6th. Of course UCLA was on bottom playing UC Santa barbra then another cupcake.

If only Adrian would have come back for his senior year and Bill Laimbeer not gotten booted out of school. Duck Williams was awesome when Notre Dame beat UCLA 95-85 at the ACC. He tormented the UCLA guards! The Irish lost that year at home to Maryland who had John Lucas, Mo Howard, and Brad Davis who all played substantial professional careers. Duck did a great job when matched against either of these studs...

I am a KU fan and have regular season tickets for KU basketball. Neat to see Allen Field House in 1976. I never knew it was a two level arena. The floor even looks smaller. Hard to believe that was 32 years ago.

@DUCKIE2SWAG This game was during my freshman year. Duck Williams nailed clutch shots in this game, but he did so in plenty of other games during his ND career. He had ice in his veins. The man could shoot, and he wanted the ball when games were on the line.

The Irish were cocky in their next game vs. Michigan. Notre Dame led early and did some trash talking, but a balanced Wolverine team came back and won, canceling the anticipated IU-Notre Dame state championship of an NCAA title game.

Damn did people actually dress like this??? What the hell jacket was the Cincy coach wearing? It's hard to believe that anyone would think this was an appropriate way to go out of the house. I was about 10 when this game took place and I can only hope my folks had more fashion sense than that....

that was a bad 5 second inbound call. its 3:21 when he gets the ball and 3:25 when the ref blows the whistle. After he ignores the time out request.

Enberg was great- heads and shoulders over many of today's announcers. I thought of him yesterday when watching the Rose Bowl- a game Merlin Olsen and he did for a long time.
Dantley was a great and classy player. I couldn't help noticing there wasn't a single dunk here and yet the game was riveting. The slam dunk is such an overdone, overrated thing.

I guess Butler, witchia state, loyola chicago have not gone to the final four in last 20 years. Not only they had shown teams with less talent that go to school then play sports can play good old fashion defense. I can think of many other tezms that have had coaches bolt for money instead of creating a school into a power. Few i only one who has stayed put.

I was a senior in high school in Indiana and had hopes of a Notre Dame vs. Indiana national title game. But all through this game, I gave up on the Irish, as they just could not get it together, until the last two seconds. Still, Notre Dame lost to Michigan in the next round. Bye-bye a Hoosier State title game for a national final.

NFL & MLB). I I've been looking to contact him about his Cincinnati Basketball videos, but I haven't been able to contact him, mainly because he hasn't started another channel on here since his channel was suspended.

Back during this period of time in the mid to late 70's, UC had some very good teams, with more good White players as you mentioned.
The best one I remember is/was Pat Cummings, number 42, who played around 12 seasons in the NBA following his UC career...
