I rwemember a Missouri era around this time coached by Al Onofrio where they had some of their biggest wins against top 10 teams, but would lose to Kansas in the last game of the season.

Thanks for sharing footage. It was quite enjoyable. I recently listened to the game. The bone bothered the Irish.

If you remember this win was after losing to Nebraska 62-0 !

Darryll Dewan, Channing Tatum's future father-in-law, played running back for Notre Dame in this game. He wore number 10, and made a short gain in the play starting at 1:11.

Tom Clements, who just last weekend had his career victory total (co-held with two others) broken by Ian Book, showed his elusive running ability in this game. I remember watching ND replays on Sunday mornings as a teenager with commentary from Paul Hornung and Lindsay Nelson, and I do believe I remember this game because it was quite an upset. Watching these highlights, it was obvious ND wasn't reading to play, and Missouri took it to them.

I have read that rain played a factor in this game, but was it throughout the contest, heavy rain or just a drizzle? Missouri historian Bob Broeg wrote that it seemed the ball was only wet on Notre Dame's side, referring to the discrepancy of turnovers.

I was a student at Mizzou. We were playing poker in the dorm when we heard the score and stopped to listen on the radio. I don’t think we had TV coverage locally.

30-26 in favor of Missouri. They fought back from a 30-14 deficit and missed two straight two-point conversion attempts.

Back when college football was still college football
    No NIL
    No transfer portal
    No crazy conference realignment.
No pro athletes playing college ball
    Sophomore rule at most colleges.
Actual academic standards for both athletes and regular students ( No grade inflation) or Affirmative Action college acceptance policies.
No targeting or horse collar rules.
No 5 hour games due to constant commercial breaks
    No ESPN/SEC bias.
Bowl games on New Years Day - always.

Beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl although Bama still tries to claim the NC.
If Notre Dame used Alabama's NC criteria, they would have about 20 NCs total.
