- FRUGAL LIVING video is here! The cost of living and the price of food has increased so much that many people use a food bank or food pantry to make ends meet. The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.

Food Haul & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing To Be Able To Have
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled. Sometimes the food is very out of date and not suitable. Please check the best by dates! If you receive spoiled items, then I'm sure it was an accident. Food banks and food pantries move a lot of inventory and there are times when the food has turned. They have a lot of food that comes through and they're not perfect. Volunteers help rotate and shelf products at the food pantry. Just keep your eye out for best by dates to make sure you are getting the best quality items you can find!

I live a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

HOW TO GET FOOD BANK HELP?
Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get food bank help. Each county has a social services department that can direct you to food pantry resources in your area.
WHAT FOOD DO YOU GET FROM A FOOD BANK?
All types! I get all types of food from the food bank from unknown brands to name brands. Each shopping trip is different. I also get a lot of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Some food pantries offer staple items like beans and lentils, other food banks may even offer organic food.
HOW DOES A FOOD PANTRY WORK?
Every Food Bank and Food Pantry has their own set of rules, so make sure to call and speak with staff that can guide you to apply. Some go by how much money you make (income guidelines).
FOOD PANTRY NEAR ME TO DROP OFF FOOD?
The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR FOOD BANK?
They go by how much money you make in most cases.

Hi Sarah! Nice food haul as always. Just a gentle suggestion. A lot of food items are on the FDA recall list. So, since you are bringing home some expired foods, l would go to the appropriate website and check weekly recalls. "Adventures with Danno" has a video daily as well, and he stays on top of recalls, high grocery prices, and food shortages at the grocery stores which really doesn't apply to you except with your organic black pepper, ha, ha. Also, l am not a fan or promoter or spokesperson for Facebook, (l cut ties with FB years ago), but if you are an active member, Marketplace seems to be a good forum to buy used and inexpensive items such as refrigerators, kitchen appliances, and all sorts of household items. You would need a friend to go with you for safety precautions to check out anything you might find as a possibility. God Bless!
Thank you for your suggestion! It's a smart idea to stay on top of the recall list. I do need to get some black pepper! I can't run out of that. FB Marketplace is a good option like you mentioned. I only wish our food pantry was so nice. I'm glad it's there for you.. It's so hard on everyone out there right now. People with more money alway's telling people to stop complaining it's worse everywhere else if I were there I'm sure I'd be worried too. There are people in every country who aren't as fortunate as other's until you've walked a day in someone else's shoe's don't tell them not to complain. You're not feeding them or their family. The food pantry is a blessing! I notice more folks are using the food pantry for the extra support. I enjoy sharing my food pantry hauls and how I put together meals from it. I like to encourage folks who may qualify but have not yet applied. The cost of living has increased greatly. I eat better because of my food pantry. Have a wonderful day and God Bless You, too!
Honest Company was started by the actress Jessica Alba when she had babies. Its a baby/child line that has natural diapers, wash, lotion, hand sanitizer etc. Bot sure if she still owns it, it is now sold at Target.
That's good information, thank you so much! Sometimes what I do is I will try the new product on my hands to test for any reactions and so far the items I get at the food pantry have been really great. I haven't been in Target in years, at least since the Pandemic. I'm a little out of touch on current products these days!

Yes I love the birds too. Alot of ours are flying north for the winter months as its warmer in the north of Australia. We are going into winter but you would'nt know it as its still 27 degrees Celsius in the daytime. Im really looking forward to cooler days and being able to get out in the garden again.

Yes! The extra bag of food was available to all shoppers. I'm happy to get those walnuts! Honey Bunny's been trying to get outside but she's an inside bunny ha!
What a nice food pantry you have. Such a blessing. I’ve heard castor oil is good for growing eyelashes. Pour it into an old clean mascara container and apply at bedtime. God bless 🙏🏼❤️

Good video, Sarah. I would save your pizza crust. You could even collect them in a baggie in fridge or freezer. Reheat and use them as base for your cheese bread or dunk in soup. Or whatever creative bites you create. Love salads copied a few of your mixes and they were great. Have a great week. Beautiful weather here.

TRY the brie on the toast with an apple and melt the brie on top of the bread with the apples and top with toasted walnuts. It's quite tasty. Or you can do some type of jam and the cheese and walnuts on bread.
That's an interesting idea, adding an apple, thank you for your suggestion! The "fancy" cheeses are just different to me because they are different than what I'm used to, but I love trying them. I especially like soft goat cheese.

One thing that works for me is, I purchased 20 lock-n -lock, 1 1/2 cup serving freezer containers. I cook a good deal of food, devide it into the containers . Label, date, and freeze. Great for stacking, then whatever you want to eat it's already done.
That's a great idea! I've been thinking of re-working my kitchen setup to add a chest freezer. I would love to do what you're doing and cook up a storm!

I use organic castor oil (exact same brand in the video) for topical painkiller, topical moisturizer and topical for dry eyes and hair growth on eyebrows. 😊

Castor oil is great for many things that will help you fill in your eyebrows growing your lashes soften your skin get rid of calluses. You definitely need to research it. There is so much that it’s good for.

There's some delicious food in your pantry haul. The one I use doesn't come close, but I'm still thankful. We don't get half loaves of bread, but I wish we did... I can't use a whole loaf either and I hate wasting food. I love sourdough bread and with the rosemary, it sounds delicious. The way you put it all together for plating makes your food look so appetizing.
I rub a bit of caster oil around my eyes at night (and on my elbows), it seems a bit greasy going on, but not for long (I guess it just gets absorbed). It really helps to soften and helps with fine lines...

Castor oil is a wonder working Miracle oil. Great for your skin, bug bites, blemishes, boo boos....just about anything that is wrong. You can even take a spoonful a day for great care of your innards. It really is an awesome oil and so so good for you.

My kids and I really love those treats from Trader Joe’s, our favorite ones are the Brookie bites is a mixture brownie and cookie in one
I don't think I've tried that kind, but it sounds yummy. Trader Joe's items are really nice. I've been working on the Peppermint Tea by them and it's pretty good, too!
Yes, Trader Joe’s items are cheaper than people thought! They have mostly ready to eat frozen foods which I’m not a fan of! So we barely go there but when we do I get that! Really soft and yummy! And I always enjoy your food pantry hails!

i hadn't seen the schar lady fingers before - caught my eye, a really good gf brand. what a great assortment of foods for the week. i'd give your food pantry an A plus. 2 weeks post op - hopefully things are healing well so second surgery is in july or august. feels like a long ways away. take care - have a wonderful night.

That is an English Cucumber. The skin on them is thinner than a regular cucumber. You hardly taste the skin.
