- Mobile Home Homemaking video! Welcome to my homemaking motivation video where I take you with me on a Day In The Life of living in a Mobile Home. My trailer is 455 square feet. To get my mobile home in better condition I had to do a room makeover. My small mobile home may not be big but it feels larger because of how I set it up! This video is different from what I usually make like food pantry hauls but I do hope you enjoy it! I also have some frugal living tips in this video as well as a frugal living hack for living room Sofa. I hope you enjoy this day in the life of living in my office trailer. Living in a one bedroom, one bathroom trailer can be a challenge. I bought the best single wide I could afford. It needed a good old fashioned mobile home cleaning plus renovations. My renovation budget was too small to do the house design I wanted. Instead I put in endless hours of mobile home cleaning. I hope you enjoy my mobile home weekend vlog!
Mobile Home Homemaking can be a work in progress!
My Singlewide Mobile Home is not big but it's a great opportunity to make the most out of what I have! My home decorating ideas for my living room is focused on furniture placement and colorful fabrics with patterns. I applied an interior design principle in my trailer that may not be obvious because I do not have the finest furnishings. I used symmetry! It works in any home on any budget. You can make a nice space for yourself, it takes creativity when your budget is low or non-existent.
MOBILE HOME HOMEMAKING & FRUGAL LIVING
It is a blessing to have a home that I can offer homemaking motivation videos to help you make the most out of what you have! In my mobile home spend the day with me you would find me tidying up and putting things in designated spaces. Mobile home homemaking means making the best home I can using what I got! I use fabric storage containers housing off-season items and supplies under the bed. This is one of my interior design tips for Storage so I can store items out of sight.
MOBILE HOME LIFE
This video is a day in the life of mobile home living! One necessary step I must take is keep the floor space clear. I make my home look more neat and tidy by putting things away. When you live in a small home, try to utilize space the best you can so you can safely walk within your home. Create a defined pathway to avoid tripping. If you would see a mobile home clean with me then you'd find me clearing the path in my home, so I can safely walk around! The struggle is real and it's important to create a routine that works for you! My floors are down to the sub flooring. It may not be the prettiest but it's what I'm working with.
HOMEMAKING MOTIVATION
The space is a minimalist home tour but the amount of things I have do fill up the space quickly. I had to figure out how to maximize a tiny space. I make my space work for me and improve as I go. When I can, I upgrade items to better quality items.
Low Income Living and Loving It
Keeping your floors clear will help your home feel large! Design your space with storage in mind so you can get the most out from your furniture. When I moved here, I had very little furniture, it took time to build up to what I have today.
FRUGAL LIVING
Living in a small singlewide mobile home has challenges. It would be easier if I had a "junk room" but I have to work with what I got. I have one closet housing a water heater. The closet has room to store items which I utilize to the max. Use what you've got, buy what you can, and make the most out of your home whether you live in an apartment, in a mobile home trailer or any other kind of home. You can make a nice home! Going to the thrift store and dumpster diving to decorate your home takes time, so give yourself plenty of room to be creative!

I just love watching your ideas. I’m decluttering and getting rid of a lot of stuff that I don’t use anymore. I am given most of it to go to my children. And if it doesn’t go to the children, it goes to the animal shelter store to resale .
That's wonderful to know! It is an on-going process for me to sort through my belongings. Every step whether big or small, in the direction I want, is the right step for me. It all adds up. I hope you have a fantastic day!
Couch bed looks great.......l put my heavy blankets under my 3 inch topper.......for the summer. Have a blessed weekend.
Thank you! Oh that's a great idea, storing your blankets under the topper. Very smart to do! Have a wonderful weekend, too!
New to your channel,I've been binge watching since yesterday and loving it.
Welcome to the Channel! Thank you for watching my videos. I'm glad you're enjoying it!
You are very resourceful your sofa looks great
Thank you so much! I like the sofa, too. Using the comforter really helps pad the pillows and make it more comfy!
I just love honey bunny peaking out on your newly arranged sofa bed ! Looks pretty & so comfy too!
Thank you! Honey bunny makes sitting on the sofa fun. It's more comfy with the comforter added to the pillows, I'm so glad it worked!
Great ideas Sarah.❤
Thanks very much! Glad you liked it!
The comforter contains the pillows better thsn the original blanket! Well done. I store mine in an XXL zip lock bag. I squeeze all the air out, then zip it up. It's quite small and I put it under my bed.
Thank you! I've not tried the big ziploc bags yet. Seems like a great storage option, too!
You can get those bags at the dollar store too.Suck the air out and shrink whatever you need too
Maybe with the jar, you could warm up the seal a little bit and expand it and that would probably help you be able to open the jar do it real easy and not scalding hot water but warm water to see if that helps any let me know how it goes
That's a great idea, thank you!
Loved the sky and trees! Great hack with pillows! Awesome 200 videos ! ~ Tink
Hi Tink! I'm glad you enjoyed the sky scenery. Been getting some real pretty skies lately. I can't believe 200 videos, it's pretty exciting to remember my earliest videos and think about the progress. Have a great night, Tink!
Wow 200 videos! I really enjoy watching them. My son had to show me an easy way to open those types of jars. I was struggling with trying to lift the curved piece. He said to let him show me. He took it and on the other side from the curved wire he showed me to place my thumbs on the attaching wires on each side and gently press forward. The curved piece popped up, he grinned at me and... now I know. 🤭 Hope this helps you. Great idea with the comforter. It's amazing how just simply adjusting pleats on things like the curtains can make such a neater difference. I take note of different frugal ways you make nice things great and try incorporating them in my small home. 🌷
From Cheryl in MS - take care, stay safe, love you, God bless
Hi Cheryl! That's a clever way to open the wire jar, thank you so much! The comforter on the sofa is so nice because it does double duty with storing it and padding the sofa. So glad it worked! The curtain pleats really do make a difference, now when I look at the window, I think, "wow that's pretty!" I enjoy making things better. It's all about the little things in life. God Bless You, Cheryl and have a great weekend!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel exactly, the little things. Amazing how the little things can bring such great comfort and peace.
Yes, Cheryl! Comfort and peace that's what makes home feel like home!
I just loved another video from you, Sarah ! Thanks for sharing 🙏
Awww thank you! I'm so glad to hear it. Thank you for watching!
Congratulations on 200th video. The sofa bed looks great. Good luck with the compost container. Have a great weekend 🎉
Thank you very much! I'm loving the sofa bed with the comforter added. It's making a great difference, much more comfy! I'm going to be learning a lot about composting this season, it should be fun. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too!
Love your little home! So pretty and cozy.❤
Thank you very much! I love my little trailer!
Hi!! Probably be better to look up composting on your search engine. Worms play a big part, just like some farmers use cow manure to fertilize huge fields. Some use horse manure. You use garden soil ..in with the entire mix. Never had flavored coffee or tea to use..might be bad for the worms. Great ideas on video.
Thank you! I have a feeling I'll be learning a lot about compost this year!
You did a great job God bless you much love from Michigan ❤️🙏
Thank you so much! I enjoyed making this video. Glad you enjoyed it, too! Have a great day and God Bless You.
I. Just joined this week and I am binge watching. Your voice is so pleasant. You also make me LOL at times.❤😂😅.I am so blessed when I watch you. I HAVE a cousin named Sarah.. You are doing a great decorating job.❤️🙏✝️❤️😇
Thank you very much for watching my videos! I'm happy to know you are enjoying my Channel. I hope you can make it for tonight's video release! Have a great day!
Awe I love Honey Bunny. That’s my pet name for my hubby so I’m a little partial ❤.
That's cute! Honey bunny is a fun addition to the sofa bed. I like to make my home cozy and a happy little home!
It was very enjoyable watching you in your every day life 😊
Thank you! I'm glad to hear it. Making videos is a lot of fun! I'm happy you enjoyed it. Have a great day!
If you had a body pillow it work even better for a back for the bed/ sofa. That’s what I used. I am thinking that back might not be stable enough when people sit on it and move around to get up and down sitting. The individual pillows might come apart and it won’t be a firm back, but it looks okay. It might work??? My twin bed served as a sofa for about one year. Good idea
Thank you! So far it's working out great! It's not the same as a real sofa, but so far so good. I've thought of upgrading the sofa bed but then I might lose the storage space underneath and I really like having that!
I use tea bags, flavored coffee grounds, bones after using them for bone broth, veggie scraps, & egg shells too. My green onions, aloe plant loves them.
Good to know, thank you so much! I have never composted before, so this is a good time to learn. I looked at some outdoor compost bins on Amazon, but first I'm going to try the tall planter I have and see the results!
Hi Sarah! Fun video! You are such a creative person…I like how you think outside the box. 😀 We have a new kitten as the feral mama gave birth the other day to one little orange baby. So sweet. Have a great weekend. 👋🏻
Enjoy him/her! I have a broody hen on a nest. Hoping she brings me chicks!
Oh my goodness bless you & your baby kitty & feral mama too 💕
@judygriffing1276 Thank you so much! I like to make things better at home. It's the "little things" that matter a lot. Aww you have a new orange kitten, is it a tabby kitten? I hope you have a great weekend, too, Judy!
@hoosierpioneer That's fun you have chickens, yay!
@@hoosierpioneer Good luck with the chicks! 😀
Your jar. I think the wire going across the lid is called a bail. Swing the bail off to one side by lifting the wire that is further down to loosen. Heck just bring it over here and I'll show you😂😂
It's still stuck! Maybe that's why it landed at the thrift store, but I won't give up! I did not know the wire was called a bail, thank you for letting me know. Always learning!
I used to love getting items at the restore. Which was our Habitat for Humanity store, but it's no longer around.
It’s a great shop. Hopefully another store will become available for you!
Your drapes are hang perfectly now. Growing up a curtain was a kitchen curtain with valence on top or a bathroom window. But nice long fabric hung, especially with a sheer like yours was a drape! And Lord help ya if you touched Mama's drapes!
You've made your home so lovely your personality shines through. Beautiful weekend to pot your plants have fun. 😊
Thank you so much! I'm glad I pleated the drapes, looks pretty. I enjoy working on my home and making it better. When I first moved here, I hardly had a place to sit, it's come a long way! I hope you have a great weekend, too, and thank you for watching!
Great ideas👍🏼
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Over half a million views too!
It's hard to believe! It's a wonderful experience!
GREAT idea for the sofa refresh👏🤩👏. Thanks for bringing us along on your travels👍 - have a wonderful weekend! Sending blessings from Maine❤️
Thank you! I had a lot of fun making this video. The sofa update is working out pretty well. I like it a lot. I hope you have a great day, too. God Bless You!
great idea with the quilt and the higher back should be a lot more comfortable. are you still thinking about the floor tiles? hope the plants like the compost - you may need to cut things up a bit more for the compost so they break down faster. i will catch you soon. i may be sleeping when you are on next time. first of 3 eye surgeries that morning
Hi Karen! Your procedure will go great! God Bless You. I like the comforter on the sofa, it's working well so far. Good point on cutting the flowers to break down, thank you! Yes, I'm still thinking about the floor tiles. I want to go to a discount store that was suggested to me, Ollie's is the name, to see their tile selection, too. Have a great weekend, Karen, and I'll be thinking of you for the best outcome with your procedure!
Hello..I just subscribed to your channel.I love your attitude. It wire pulls down from top of jar. Take care!💞🌴🌸🦜👍💞
Welcome to the Channel! Thank you for subscribing. We have fun on this channel, and hope you enjoy watching. Thank you for the jar tip! Have a great weekend!
Good stuff for your flooring. Yes just the mil isn't as thick
Thank you, Lois! I still need to check out Ollie's and see what they got, they may have more options to choose from.
I love the sofa you created. It is adorable and .practical. The curtains with the pleats look like high end ones now that you have added the pleats. I loved the cloud’s photography. I started watching your video with a splitting stress headache. By the end of the video, my headache has disappeared and I am smiling. I’m excited to go back and watch your videos that I missed. I didn’t know you had such a large library.
I'm glad the stress headache went away. I used to get those, too, and understand how it feels. I love the comforter on the sofa bed, it's working out really well. I got 4 curtain panels from the thrift store, 50 cents each, and they've been so great! Adding the pleats make a big difference, I agree. I love nature and the skies are getting real pretty these days. The more videos I make, the more experience I get with editing. You'll see a big difference from the beginning of the channel to where it is now! Thank you for watching my channel and I hope you have a great day.
Congratulations on the 200th video! I love how you made the back for your soda bed. It looks so pretty with all the different colors. Thanks for sharing a fun video!
Thank you very much! I love colors and patterns to brighten up my day. The sofa bed with the comforter added is working out great. It's more comfy now! I'm so excited about 200 videos, I'm happy to still be making videos!
Sarah, lift the back hinge, and the top should pop open. If not carefully use a butter knife to separate the top from the rubber. It may be rotten, or dried out. Also you could soak in hot sospy water, which may loosen it. Hope this helps some.🙂
Thank you for your suggestions! The seal is stuck, but I'll try your ideas and hopefully it will work out just great. We shall see!
I really enjoyed this video. This was fun watching.
Try running the seal part of the jar under warmer (not hot) water.
Enjoy your weekend! 😊
Thank you so much! I'm happy you enjoyed it. I'll try your suggestion for the canning jar! Have a great weekend, too!
@CareFreeLivingChannel I have to do that sometimes. The hot water softens the rubber so you may have to even soak it for a little bit.
Good to know! Thank you.
Sarah, congratulations on your 200 video. Love what you did with the sofa bed. My mom used those kind of canning jars. She use to take pliers, and pull on the sealant and it would release the air and loosen up everything. Good luck with that!
Thank you! So excited about 200 videos, it's been a real learning experience. The sofa bed is great and the comforter is working out well. Great idea on the pliers! I'm going to try it and see if it works on the canning jar. Have a wonderful day!
Hello there new subscriber. I also use coffee grounds for my compost. My veggies taste so good and sweet because of the used coffee grounds.
Welcome to my Channel! I would love to have a successful garden and still trying to figure out the whole composting thing! It’s been so hot this summer I refocused on some indoor projects.
Goodmorning, Iam New to your Channel Love it!❤
Welcome to the Channel! Thank you for watching. Next video comes out on Tuesday at 7pm Eastern!
Love video ❤ Iam going to try sofa hack good idea ❤
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the "sofa hack", too. It's working out pretty good so far!
That's what I use miracle grow. I just planted a tomato plant in a big bucket I'm going to see how it does. I think Miracle grow dirt is pretty good
That's good to know! I've never used miracle grow dirt before. I hope your tomato plant grows for you!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel it always does really good with my plants
That's great, I have hope for my plants!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel well if it is any hope miracle grow is your go to 💜
Thank you Sarah!❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching my video!
Good idea on the sofa
Thank you! I like it, too. The sofa's working out really well so far, love the "sofa back"!
My kids have that exact same brown Easter bunny.
Awww that's cute! I love the bunny!
On the rubber seal, on the jar, there's a piece that sticks out, pull that to release the seal. It how the jars are opened after canning them
Oh! I did not know that, thank you so much! I could not resist buying the blue jar, I love the look of the glass lids, it's a wonderful design. I would like to learn how to can eventually!
Love to watch your videos and I liked the lane piece you looked at and your redecorating keep videos coming.
Thank you very much! The Lane furniture, I'd like to get that, I just don't know where I'd put it in my small home. I'm still thinking on it, how to make it work. Thank you for watching, glad you're enjoying my videos!
Hi Sarah! I have been watching your videos and I love each one of them. You should do a Q& A soon. I would love to know how you got your home? I didn't know you could purchase office trailers. I love the way you managed to decorate it. I can't wait to see you use the peel and stick floor tile 😊😊😊
Thank you so much! I'm happy to know that. I really enjoy decorating my home and making it work for me. The home came during the Pandemic when the landlord I rented from gave me less than a month to leave so it could go on the market to sell. Although a very challenging situation to be faced with, it worked out, thank God! I want to look at more tile options and maybe even carpet. That project is going to be fun once I get it going! Have a great weekend!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel I'm so happy you were able to get your home ❤️ as I mentioned I love it! You have done so much to it and it looks beautiful. I will be subscribing today. Thank you for sharing your home with us 😊
Awww thank you! When I moved here, I was starting over. It was difficult. But at the same time it was a great opportunity for me! I'm very happy to be here. Have a wonderful day!
I would have grabbed that Lane sideboard 💛😊
I really like that Lane piece, too! It's a great price. If I go back for it, not sure where I'd put it, but sure would love to have it!
I like what you did to your day bed.
Thank you so much! It's working out pretty good so far!
Hi Sarah! I'm jealous seeing you in shorts. Still a bit too cool here, but soon! Lol! Happy weekend!
Hi Chris! Good morning! Don't be too jealous because the temperatures dropped, so it feels like a "Fall" day right now. Had to turn the heat back on. This crazy weather! Have a great weekend, Chris!
lift the wire on the back of the neck of the jar I have a couple of those
I tried it, but the glass top is still stuck to the seal!
GET A queen headboard and put be hind you sofa bed or a king according to your measurements..........it will give it a couch appearance....
That's a great idea, thank you for the suggestion! I might upgrade to a headboard one day!
I just made one from rescued items lol. A very large empty tv cardboard box, cut to size. 2 old quilts cut to size for padding and a shower curtain on top!!! Secured with staple gun but even duct tape will work. A shower curtain is 4 yards of fabric, quite useful for many things. I may make some fabric buttons to "tuft" the piece. I'm still thinking.
@@pennynickels5216 That sounds fancy!
Maybe try soaking the jar in hot water? Good luck.
Thank you for the tip! Hopefully I can get the jar open, if not I'll still keep it because it's so pretty!
Curtains look great like that
Thank you very much! I really like the curtains, too. They look so fancy!
The kitchen curtains were not long enough to just run the rods through the top of them?
Adding the curtain clips made it easier to open!
Wow 200 videos. Congratulations 🎉. I loved the Nativity in the saucer idea, adorable. The sky with the trees are so beautiful and looks so peaceful. Have a great weekend.
Thank you! I love the Nativity in the saucer, too. It seemed just right and I can move it easily if I want to put it on the coffee table and look at it! The skies are getting pretty, love the colors. It's hard to believe I have 200 videos, pretty exciting! I hope you have a great weekend, too!
Sarha can your nice man lay carpet or something like that? I was at home depot the other day, they had a remant of vinyl flooring for less than 20.00. You will have to remove everything to lay most of it but it's cheaper than the plank flooring. And water proof
That's a good point, Lois! I like your idea. I will have to visit Home Depot, too, and see what they got! Maybe getting carpet would be good to do in part of the trailer and vinyl in other parts. So much to consider! It's a big project because gotta move everything to get it done.
@@CareFreeLivingChannel
Habitat restore always has cheap flooring too
@@pennynickels5216 I been looking! Haven't found flooring at Habitat yet but their inventory changes frequently.
get you some WD40 spray on it loosing it up, you will prob have to replace the rubber seal. You can get that online
Clever idea, Lois, thank you! I like the style of the glass lid canning jars. This is a real pretty one!
It looks like there is a rod pocket on those curtains. Just slide the rod through the rod pocket. No clips needed.
The curtain clips help me open them easier!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel Very good point.

Hi Lois! Thank you for letting me know!
Try to avoid anything especially artificially flavored on plants.
