In fact, there's a mathematical formula that perfectly describes just how many guitars is the right amount of guitars... 'guitars needed = current number of guitars + 1' See, it's math. And math doesn't lie.
This is a great channel with very well-made videos! Unfortunately, it's hard to watch them consecutively since they are not organized in a playlist in order.
Don't you hate it when you lose a part and then find it stuck on the pick-up magnets ... Good luck with this build Patrick . I,ll go out on a limb and choose Green as the new build colour .🎸👍🎸👍🎸👍
Excellent, I love strats but have never owned a genuine one. kudos for keeping the natural wear and tear as that’s part of your guitar’s story. As an aside, I still have my first electric, a Hohner strat copy i got for Christmas in 1983 (pre-arbour series) it has terrible hardware and a thin ply body, but the neck is lovely so my plan for a long while has been to use the body as a routing template and make it glorious. This build series will be great point of reference!
Hey Lat, I’ve only requested this since the 335. I’ll keep doing so in every build. lol. Dark/Hunter Green with a black burst or fade. And some aluminum brass/gold colored frets, marker dots, and hardware. Mmm, sexy.
Looking forward to this one how about a one piec neck and fingerboard with the truss rod going in the back with a skunk stripe, never seen that done yet on youtube. My fender is done like that. Just a thought!!? When are you going to finish the Firechick!
I realized when I watched you take off the strings that I do the same thing you did - pluck the string as I loosen it. I also thought that there is no reason to do that other than to hear the satisfying drop in pitch as it goes limp. Wonder if everyone does that. My favorite Fender color is Dakota Red, so I guess that.
Getting right back to it. I was like Strats don't do anything for me. So I never built any. But the more Strats I set up for folks I started liking them. Then I went crazy and rough cut out 5 pine bodies and 1 mahogany with a maple cap. So I built out three of them. Still not a fan of control layout but it's still better than Les Pauls 4knobageddon.
With the classic hardware, I'm guessing a classic 60s color. My initial guess was going to be Lake Placid Blue (my fav) until you pulled out old faithful, so my guess is Olympic White. Looking forward to the build and the refresh of the blue strat!
This one should be fun.. i knew when i saw Alder blank it was going to be a strat and not another tele.. was thinking tribute to CLAPTON? Gilmour? or Beck? we can rule out Beck unless you have a rosewood fretboard but that surf green is fabulous.. given the (2) black strats of Gilmour and Clapton.. it will be mainly pick guard color to decide as well as the Gilmour "mod".. and since David's Strat has a more amber patina (you like to spray those).. .that is what i am guessing.. a BLACK on BLACK Gilmour mod strat..
Amen to that brother. I just finished my 12th build and am already sizing up #13. Some tell me I should sell some I tell them to mind their fucking business 😎
That old strat is killer Patrick. Some great memories there. Just did a “refurb” on my 79 strat couple of months ago. Didn’t realise how much I missed it. As far as the colour goes…hmmm, I dunno???? Are you a Hank fan? Fiesta red? Or Beatles fan? Sonic Blue? You are good at bursts. Two colour burst perhaps? I wait with bated breath…
Спасибо за видео. Почему Вы хотите сделать пятку корпуса прямоугольной, а не с скошенным углом. Скошенный угол лает больше удобства на верхних позициях.
Once you said 3 piece alder body I said there’s no way he’s doing another tele. Gotta be a Stratocaster for this project. And they you revealed the template
These are all brilliant, I love your relaxed style. I don't mean to moan, but it took a lot of looking to find this first episode. If it's possible, please organise TH-cam (consistant naming aside) to put them in some kind of order. Otherwise, shed of dreams is far and away the best of it's kind on the internet, and if we could buy them on Blu Ray I would be sorely tempted. Please forgive the shit sandwich, keep up the excellent work.
At the risk of sounding uncharitable, you've a fair set of paws on yer, have you not considered a fat neck ? by way of a change (as it's a custom) As for the colour ? Pink . They're louder
"You can never have too many guitars." Couldn't agree more.
In fact, there's a mathematical formula that perfectly describes just how many guitars is the right amount of guitars... 'guitars needed = current number of guitars + 1'
See, it's math. And math doesn't lie.
Gilmour Strat please Patrick!!

Thanks for reminding me, I've been meaning to add the videos to the playlist but it had slipped my mind, all done now.
@@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams Thank You, very appreciated!
I love seeing those old guitars getting a clean up, especially the maple fingerboards.
Good luck with the new build, I shall be watching avidly 😊😊
Ohh yeahh new video, new build ❤
Hi from Perú
Hi back :)
I thought you were taking a break. Hope it was long enough for you. Either way, good to see you back with a new build.
I took a whole two days off, that's enough for me :)
Excellent! A strat's been high on my priority list as well. If you need some custom vintage-ish pickups, you know where to find me
Don't you hate it when you lose a part and then find it stuck on the pick-up magnets ... Good luck with this build Patrick . I,ll go out on a limb and choose Green as the new build colour .🎸👍🎸👍🎸👍
Hi, man, your old Strat is amazing workhorse, love it! Wish you good luck with building your new Strat.
i have 3 usa strats and one being a 1989 standard so i'm excited to watch this strat build
Surf Green nitro, mint pick guard and plastics.
Hey Pat I think a surf green strat would look pretty cool 😊
Fiesta Red.
Sea Foam Green

… and I’m going to guess Olympic White

Purple

Yippee ye! A new build!
As promised :)
Candy Red
some variation of green for the colour, would also like to see a reverse bridge pickup (LH stylee) and a LH neck.
I’m a Lake Placid fan, but I’m thinking you might go Candy Apple Red.
Shell pink or fiesta red!
Those both seem quite popular.
@@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams Strats are my number one - so I'm very exited to learn from the master! Thanks Patrick

Sonic blue, black pickguard and hardware.
Vintage white would be nice, after all it was good enough for Johnny F Marr.... What kind of wood are you using for the body btw?
Спасибо за видео. Почему Вы хотите сделать пятку корпуса прямоугольной, а не с скошенным углом. Скошенный угол лает больше удобства на верхних позициях.
What kind of pencil are you using? I need one of those!
I'm just about to build my son a Strat ....I think I'll build along with you :) Btw...can I guess your's is going to be gold?
Ice blue metallic or Daphne blue, aged white pearloid pick guard. Where do you source your wood and hardware, please?
Once you said 3 piece alder body I said there’s no way he’s doing another tele. Gotta be a Stratocaster for this project. And they you revealed the template
Aahhh the classic no power tools after 9 pm curfew. I have received text messages in the past!

Lake Placid Blue ?
All seems to be classic colours so far...
@@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams The UNION JACK would be classic even more !
Lime green 😅
Lol, no but lol :)
I have found that the neck template and the neck pocket template of my set don't fit perfectly well. There is some play. What is your's like?
Ric 360 next time, then.😂
At the risk of sounding uncharitable, you've a fair set of paws on yer, have you not considered a fat neck ? by way of a change (as it's a custom)
As for the colour ?
Pink .
They're louder
Well it's nice to know I'm not the only one who can't compete at trashsketball. 😂
Have you considered a 12-string electric build?
Red.
Red
A question I often wondered..you are left handed, but you play right handed. Is that by choice? I'm a lefty and can't even hold a guitar right handed.
I'm guessing Fiesta Red.
That would be a good choice
