Exactly. I always hated chazz during the first eps when i first saw GX as a kid, but then this two parter came out and it made me understand him a lot more. He became one of my favorite characters along with syrus and jaiden. And it makes me glad that jaiden and his group of friends accepted him to be part of the group. And like you said, he gained them as a new better family 😊
yeah a real family. He probably didn't get the love he deserved as a kid hence his attitude problems in the beginning of gx but his character development is incredible and he will always be my most favorite character
Considering a single card (super polymerization) can merge all dimensions in this season, I think being disowned for losing a duel is a pretty light punishment.

Some people think that Chazz winning this duel would gave added more to the story, but in all honesty. The episode that came out later, "sibling rivalry" made up for it. Because, Chazz was not only dueling his brother who was using the cards he offered Chazz in this episode, but Chazz was also forced to duel only using monsters with a low attack power. They basically tried to set Chazz up for failure and continue to rub his loss in this episode, in his face and pour salt in his wounds. But Chazz was able to beat his brother, and gave his harsh siblings a well deserved humiliation.
"Sibling Rivalry" remains one of my favorite GX episodes with one of my favorite duels. I'm more than glad that Jaden won this duel, and then to have the series setup for Chazz' redemption in "Sibling Rivalry" to have Chazz then defeat Slade was executed perfectly.
Chazz should have beaten Jaden and THEN rejected his brothers. It would have actually given him some credibility and he would have been negotiating from a position of power.

The reason for this is because the lower two dorms do not have the appropriate housing, as Obelisk Blue is the only one with separate dormitories for both female and male students.
I liked the original version of the end of the episode where the North Academy Chancellor was about to take the Armed Dragon cards back, but the sight of not getting the kiss made him just run to the sub and forget them until they were already leaving.

I think the Zane vs Jaden Graduation duel is more like Kaiba vs Yugi semi-finals. Both of thier God cards destroyed each other. Just like Zane and Jaden's best monsters destroyed each other.
I say Zane because next to the main character he hardly ever loses, doesn't respect his opponent, uses power to crush his opponent like Kaiba, very successful in his career, has a three headed dragon summoning card as his favorite fusion, a genius, and has a little brother. Plus as a bonus their outfits are almost exactly the same. It's just one is white while the other one is black. Kaiba hardly ever loses as much as Chazz does.
It was at this precise moment where Chazz decided that if he couldn't beat Jaden with High Star monsters he was gonna beat everyone else BUT Jaden with nothing but Ojamas from now till the very end of GX
I love this duel. Chazz has 2 back to back losses from Jaden at this point but he spends like a few weeks at North Academy and gets a few decent cards and suddenly Chazz thinks his plot armor is stronger Chazz should have saw the red flags the moment Jaden offered to trade a hero monster in exchange for Chazz's dragon.
This would’ve been a great moment for Chazz to finally defeat Jaden He could have an epiphany part way through , realising he doesn’t need his brothers and parlay his new confidence into a win Plus Manga Chazz got a win over Jaden 😃😃😃
It's crazy how different the manga is. It's significantly shorter for 1, and Jaden gets absolutely rolled like several times, to the point where he's barely even the main character.

man this duel remindes me of duel city semi finals of yugi against kaiba due the duel being on live
But unlike this duel, Yugi and Kaiba blew out the transmission in mid game
I think the Zane vs Jaden Graduation duel is more like Kaiba vs Yugi semi-finals. Both of thier God cards destroyed each other. Just like Zane and Jaden's best monsters destroyed each other.

The Kaiba of this show is Zane
I say Zane because next to the main character he hardly ever loses, doesn't respect his opponent, uses power to crush his opponent like Kaiba, very successful in his career, has a three headed dragon summoning card as his favorite fusion, a genius, and has a little brother. Plus as a bonus their outfits are almost exactly the same. It's just one is white while the other one is black.
Kaiba hardly ever loses as much as Chazz does.

Chazz has 2 back to back losses from Jaden at this point but he spends like a few weeks at North Academy and gets a few decent cards and suddenly Chazz thinks his plot armor is stronger
Chazz should have saw the red flags the moment Jaden offered to trade a hero monster in exchange for Chazz's dragon.

Chazz is one of my favorite characters. Now that I know he beat Jaden in the manga makes this day better.
I agree 💯! The stakes were bigger for Chaz and Jayden could use some more character development! Horrible episode imo
The problem is that he would need to learn to lose with dignity as well, and him winning here would just reinforce the issues and big-headedness
He’s supposed to lose here to realize that later down the road. Otherwise he has no reason to stand up to them
It's crazy how different the manga is. It's significantly shorter for 1, and Jaden gets absolutely rolled like several times, to the point where he's barely even the main character.
